  • Hola Hi Hello Im from ARGENTINA, tHERE some way to shoot samples without press the key ? and how to divide a combi with one little par afected with karma and the other just piano without karma? thans i have kronos only 1 week and is very difficult thanks

  • Impressive... but I'm still surprised that the Guitar, sitar, etc.. sounds are still super crappy, I thought they improved this over the years but not really...

  • @F3FisGoodforYou Those were the modeled string module you heard. It sucks ass. The sample based are actually very good.

  • wish i could afford it

  • @JockRonaye Very true, indeed. However, he is amongst the least publicly commercial of musicians considering his talent, as with lots of keyboardists these days.

Lots of professional musicians I've had the chance to speak with had not heard of him, despite involvement in progressive music industry and being quite familiar with both DT and LTE.

So it stands. I don't care about endorsement whoring. He is talented and I respect him. ;)

  • just jizzed

  • Sounds like a great keyboard if you don't know how to play a keyboard instrument. The performers on this demo would probably sound amazing playing on a beaten up harmonium from the century before last. Reckon I'll hang on to my Triton Extreme for a bit longer unless or until the price comes down.

  • What type of bell is that at 3:37

  • the synths are to thin for me. i want MOOG :P

  • Looks like a very expencive toy.

  • @stickmister321 actually it is expensive

  • @9rmetal Thank you, that's what I described.

  • Oh my god the electric guitar sound at 5:33 was PERFECT.

    Good job Korg. Again.

  • want

  • When Jordan Rudess says it's good, it's good.

  • @masterd000

    Ur falling for marketing tricks,...but yeah, I agree with u...:P :P :P

  • @masterd000 Jordan Rudess is one of the biggest endorsement whores in the industry...just have a look at his website...he makes no attempt to hide it.

  • @JockRonayne Gotta make money SOMEHOW when record sales are NIL! :-)

  • What a dream....

  • po esse teclado nao achei grande coisa nao ,mas por outro lado eu fiquei com vontade de aprender a tocar pra fazer o q o cara faz em 4:57

    aehhaehaehaeheahaehaeh

    faça me o favor

  • a soup up jp8 lol

  • Want.

  • Guys, Kronos or the Nord Stage 2? im really confused!

  • @justgotupfrombed Actually, I think the Nord is overrated ). I prefer Korg, Kurzweil and Yamaha. But if I were you, I would buy several older instruments instead :) like a wavestation, d50, sy99 and a kurzweil 2500/2600

  • @justgotupfrombed the kronos is insane and less expensive than the stage 2, but I had to return it cause the pianos velocity is not working properly, a known problem that korg seems to be struggling resolving. If I were you I would try the kronos, but make sure to try the pianos really carefuly. If you can't wait to get a keyboard you can get the stage, but I think you pay a little bit more for the name. Still the advantage of it is that its very very easy to handle

  • no matter how good some of those synth strings, brass sound to your ears, it still sounds fake - can't you edit the sounds more with this? Like Analog style? It still looks epic though...

  • @Shaftsus

Yes, I'm not sure whether you meant Orchestral strings, but that's kinda what I'm wondering about: whether any of these expensive workstation could match a quality computer library, like East West Quantum Leap. But even packages like Reason have come a long way. But I suppose 'the real thing' will always be the real thing, 'cause samples can only go so far.

  • Esse teclado é demais

  • amazing

  • MOD7 - bells from Yamaha DX7?! I like it :)

  • LOL @ Lyle. "COOL!"

  • Let me break it down for all, I have personally gigged these keyboards proper

Entry level Gigging - Roland RD700

Mid Tier Gigging - Korg Triton/Korg Kronos

Top Tier Gigging - Clavia Nord Stage/Yamaha Motif XF

Entry Level Studio - Roland Fantom

Mid Tier Studio - Korg Oasys/Korg Kronos/Yamaha Motif

Top Tier Studio - Apple mac + Controller

It is my personal experience pls do not let the hate spread over this, you can do your own if you want, i still think it is a good guide tho

  • @dinolicito What's the controller in the mac?

  • @dinolicito Not exactly sure what you are trying to say, please explain.

  • should i go for the kronos or the m50?

  • @darkhunter513 KRONOS NO QUESTION. if you have the money you shouldn't even consider the m50

  • @str8rippin0mlg but isnt the kronos very complicated?

  • @darkhunter513 to be honest, they both take time to get used too, but don't let that stop you. If you really have trouble they have a complete online video manual at korg.com

  • @darkhunter513 kronos, the m50 isn't even half of what the kronos is.

  • even though it may do a good job it looks ugly like something you would find on a casio

  • HOLY sh*t!!!!! The guitar sounds AMAZING

  • I have never, ever been a Korg fan. Then I played the Kronos and am becoming a believer. This thing is sweet. Best piano samples I've heard yet and it's the only touch screen I've used that actually does what you want it to. I pity anybody that bought an OASYS. This thing's amazing.

  • @CKnoxW I don't pity those who bought an OASYS. I simply thank them for funding Korg's R&D to make the Kronos more available to the masses.

  • @jannto its brushed aluminium not plastic like ALL yamaha shit.

  • @prototypep4 My Motif is totally all metal dude

  • The interface is unbelievable ugly and finger touch unfriendly

  • @endrodyg I said that some of the negative comments are reps from rival companies. Because I know this for a fact. Not all but some. How do you tell which are and aren't? You can't. So I don't know how helpful these comments are in reality.

Your your "ugly chick" analogy is kind of offensive.

Ok? I think you get it.

  • Comment removed

  • Don't let negative comments on forums and YouTube make up your mind. Go play one and decide. I know for a fact that many of the really negative comments that get posted are from reps for rival companies. Hardly objective.

  • Comment removed

  • endrodyg has written to say that he doesn't need to touch an instrument. He will only judge it by how it sounds. That in reply to my comment far below. fair enough. But my comment was more about how people post negative comments on a thing they have never even played. Don't tell me that sound is the only consideration because if the keyboard action is crap or the interface is needlessly confusing I still will not buy even a great sounding instrument.

  • I don't use Piano and organs hardly at all in my music. I use a lot of (virtual-)analog and the typical sampled sounds like drums, strings chiors.. pretty much everything you get in the Korg M3. I also use alot of effects (big sounds, reverb, delay, filters) so the 12 insert effects are really usefull for me. In my triton pro x I feel limited by the 5 insert effects. Would it still be a smart investment to get this even if not using piano/organ? Or maybe get M3 and something like the virus TI?

  • Heyyyy, 3,000 euros for the 61 keys version ...??? I am Amazed!! I expect to receive a spacecraft with the synth, or at least a bike...:P

  • düğünler sana aç, çiftetelli sensiz üşüyor kronos.

  • i tested the bass , all sounds good

  • bad guitar! good synth for analog/digital sound

    good généraliste sound

very bad acoustic sound since ever (it's true for yamaha and roland)

    very good organ

good sound too for drum (easy to implement short sample)

    4go for the piano?

300Giga sample for plugin piano...No comment

it's a good keyboard but not "amazing"

  • As a total Korg user, I have and use on stage, along with 2 emulalators, an old X3, O1, an SR Wavestation and the fabulous M3, and am now absolutely captivated by the Kronos. Korg's operating systems and sounds are unbeatable, the Kronos is joining my set up this week. Gaynor Colbourn of Amazonne

  • im trying to decide between buying this and rolands Fantom g8, they are both exactly the same price, i need advice! im really confused!

  • @pinkzeppelintheater Here's my advice. If you're into having stuff set up in a synthesizer than I would suggest a Fantom G8;however, the downside with the Fantom is that synthesis is very very limited. You can't really do much to change the patches. On the other hand, a Kronos is more for the real synthesizing and studio work; but also is a bit more difficult to learn from. In my opinion I think you should get a Kronos. I find it much better, but if you want to be simple then go with the Fantom.

  • @Inventor672 Thanx a ton dude! you decided me, I was always leaning more toward the kronos but just felt like I needed one more thing to make me purchase it.

    thanx man! peace!

  • @pinkzeppelintheater well, you should go and try both before deciding. keep in mind though, that the phantom g has been around for years now. but really, the best way to decide is to go and try them both. or maybe a third one. who knows. :)

  • @romagen yeah iv jammed around on the fantom g for a while before, the problem is that its like impossible to find a kronos with 88 keys in a store to jam on, as supposed to just ordering it. anyways though thank you. appreciate it!

  • I'm more impressed with the Clavia Nord Stage 2.

  • Because of Kronos, JASON.MOBI productions is making the move from Kurzweil to Korg.

  • The only thing I don't like so far is the pitch/mod. I like the two wheels that most workstations use. Not this joystick crap.

  • Wow, and I thought I was set on the Yamaha Motif!

I'll have to think long and hard now.

  • what's the name of this song att 4:06?

  • I am definitely getting one!

  • 15 Years with Korg and now I have to get one too. Man.... it's worth it.

  • That is an ABSOLUTELY AWESOME looking keyboard! I think Korg have got a real winner on their hands with this one...It's a long, long time since I've been as excited as this about a keyboard...Well done, Korg...

  • who the fuck disliked???????

  • Yes, no doubt it is a great keyboard - I've long been a Korg fan ( have a T3, SG1D DSS1 and DDD1 , KORG LEGACY COLLECTION) but seeing it demo'd in a music store - THE TOUCH SCREEN DOESN'T WORK. it is nowhere near as sensitive as an iphone and the panel is far too small for all the info. An editor will improve it but compared to my Fantom G I'm sorry but the screen is far from ideal.

  • WOW, At $3,000.00 plus I don't think I will be getting one.

  • when will it appear in shops?

  • This gonna change the game yo

  • We would expect to see them in the studios of middle aged businessmen who dabble. And of course Rodan the Flying Endorser will have a free one. Or several free ones.

  • Have faith peeps. The synth engines in this thing are amazing and routable.

Having those, a (hopefully) good piano sound, weighted keys and physical drawbars is a also a massive plus for me as I can live perform and also sound design in the studio with the one machine and not weigh down the studio computers.

This could be a winner but i'd love to hear what a working producer would do with it rather than a "technician-musician".

  • Comment removed

  • 5:27, how many times can you play that progression with that same sample? omg, richard formidoni is a horrible player...

  • Love the look of this. If I had money, space, etc, I'd have one like a shot.

  • GETTING THIS BABY!!!

  • Its is good but BAD!!??

User interference in this keyboard is very difficult

  • That fat black guy really distracts me from the video with his 'wooooo' :D

  • the sounds on the yamaha motif xf is better..........

  • I still use my Triton Extreme . Korg will always be my choice when it comes to keyboards. I've used them all, but Korg makes life easy when navigating around for sounds.

  • great workstation :D the only problem... I don't have enough money u.u

  • Guitar Center has one on the floor. Honestly I was so overwhelmed by it I went over to another keyboard after about a minute! Went back yesterday and tried it again. INCREDIBLE! The richest, most complex sounds I've ever heard. The detail is stunning. Piano, E.P.s, Organs all sounded extremely realistic. The pads and analog sounds were amazing. I can see this replacing a lot of keyboards in the studio. I'm hoping for a "Kronos Light" minus the "work station". Does anyone actually use them?

  • Damn it's cool stuff..

  • all I need is $3799 its all about 88 keys

  • It looks like one of those cheap casio boards lmao. But it does seem awesome as absolute hell

  • Just checked the price of the 88 key version and it is VERY affordable for what you are getting for the money .. definitely well done Korg ..

  • Natural evolution of the Korg workstation. Very impressive .. Interesting how they've gone for the Yamaha X8 look but with a bigger screen - My fav is still the Oasys for looks.Regardless, this baby does look and sound very impressive. Well done Korg ..

  • holy fuck!

  • Can't wait to try one out and see if it lives up to the hype!

  • Certainly looks like a very cool instrument. I can't wait to visit one in a shop and see if its as cool as it SHOULD be.

  • Sounds the same as M3.

  • Touch screen not big enuff

  • Still the same 'synthetic feel' in sounds..acoustic guitar doesn't seem very realistic.. In terms of electronic modulation, Kronos is undoubtedly unmatched. but Motif XF still has a hand above when it comes to producing 'realistic' instrumental sounds. Check for instance the acoustic guitar from motif (search for Bert Smorenberg's Motif XS demonstration).. or orchestral/string/brass sounds.. or even flutes... other than these, Kronos is Superb...

  • Korg Kronos have more views than Yamaha Motif XF, Kronos is winning.

  • Want to try this one... but I guess I'll settle for a Korg Triton Extreme for now. T_T

    *Ish broke*

  • Really want to try it, but it seems to be a bit too much packed into one workstation.

  • @gunteman if they did not put as much then people would say its not as good as a computer setup. Korg is competing against computer setups with endless possibilities. Korg is giving us everything we need. Its different from most workstations but, to have that much power in a tight package is amazon. I think once u learn the board u wont look back.

  • i was a roland fan...

as soon as i checked out a korg.. i realized what the basic diff was.

roland showcases thier products, with great pomp and show... very flashy demos... showing very simple technologies as amazing stuff...

but KORG... it really doesnt promote its products that well... its only after u take a leap of faith with that instrument and use it yourself that u realise that its a clear winner and washes away all its competition clean.

cheers to korg.. and congrats for KRONOS! :)

  • 5:10

  • shitz nuts !

  • For your information, the M1 wasn't the ONLY 'board that "defined" the keyboard workstation.

    Can anyone say "D 50"?

Why does Korg ALWAYS have to try and make their gear sound so underwhelming?

Then again, maybe they aren't "trying"......know what I mean?

  • @arnebarnard Actually the M1 WAS the first keyboard workstation, so yes they did technically "define" the term.

  • Why am I NOT impressed with the Kronos?

Oh, the Jupiter 80, THAT'S WHY!!!!

  • Sounds like shit.

  • 1:47 Did anyone else notice this protype (I'm guessing) is spelled Chronos on the right hand side of the keyboard? lol

  • Comment removed

  • the guitar at 4:00 sounds horrible. plastic.

  • @puronicoya it is not a guitar, but a Synth Lead, you fool

  • garageband? O.o

  • Nobody gives a shit about Kronos. I think companies should stop recycling and exploit old technology and release keyboards just with a few unimportant improvements which are being advertised as the biggest shit ever. And the worst thing about Kronos is the fact that they act like all of those synth engines are totally new and were never being used anywhere before.

  • I think it's the new Oasis at the price the original oasis should have been

  • @foxybrown2 Given that it's the Karma engine, I think it's the old Oasys at the price it should have been. There are a lot of user interface improvements, tho.

  • I would make everything to aquire this keyboard!! It's a pity that i can't access the Korg's event "What would you do for a KRONOS" i don't live in the USA!! Damn! I wish i were! maybe i ll go to my cousin and w8 till the event takes place!

    (even that should be appreciated)

  • Doesn't seem like a workstation at all...seems like a stage \board...

  • Once again, the biggest concern I have with this Korg keyboard is it's price. If I were in the market for a new workstation, I don't know if I would overlook the Motif XF and spend another $600 for this.

  • It's really a nice looking and sound hearing musical instument.I was a heavy user of the old O1WFD that i miss a lot but i like this one too.I can't wait to touch it.

  • It's either a "re-invigorated" Triton, or a de-invigorated Oasys.

I reserve final judgement until I can lay hands upon one.

  • Will there be EXi expansions?

  • Yamaha rules!

  • I'd happily give my left nut for this keyboard. I must find a payment plan for this. Must.

  • @ThatGOONfromLA

If each person that viewed this YouTube video donated $0.01 to me, I would be able to get a Kronos.

  • looks amazing.

  • Why are all these "experts" slamming a keyboard that none of them have even touched? It's a bewildering part of modern internet life.

Seems to me that Korg has tried to make a very expressive musical instrument with lots of options here. It may not suite your taste or needs but why bash it before it's even shipping?

  • @MyAtomicShadow I'm half with you Atomic.

For me the problem is that these demo's have never demonstrated useful or attractive sounds for working studio musicians but i'd love to see what can be done by a current producer/musician in session.

I was truly HORRIFIED at yet more brass, 90's shimes and more useless, fetid electric guitar fakes??

    I hadn't cursed in years.

What I loved was that the Kronos might carry a great piano sound (finally!) and some great 70's elec sounds for performance.

  • I guess this is the future of electronic keyboards. How many engines can we pack into a keyboard. This company has 2, this one has three, but this one has 9. Nothing new and innovative here. We need something fresh sounding.

  • how to replace internal back up battery in kronos? is there flash memory so you don´t need to replace?

i have a Korg M1 and that is still a good musicworkstation. i need a real piano keyaction. so please buy Yamaha old GT-2 keyaktion or kawai CA-93 keyaction and build in to Kronos. then I will buy this nice machine. have kronos 88 keys version and korg SP-250 same RH3-keys? who know what frankfurt musikmesse 2011 will bring...

mybe new soundcard PCM-set to korg M1, many people still use M1

  • the kronos sounds are not so good as expected and the korg guys used to make things very difficult i think yamaha motif XF is more better and easyer to use i have one and am very verry satisfied great sounds and nice feeling in play that's my view and it's more cheaper than korg kronos peace

  • My phone has more memory. And not just a little more. I don't understand why they always skimp on memory when it's so cheap these days! Pathetic. I'll stick with a laptop and controller keyboard for better sounds and less money.

  • you have all these talented pianists playing all these complicated and awesome sounding songs until you get up to 4:57..fe

  • @BodomBeachGuitarist

    It is sitar.

  • @BodomBeachGuitarist I'm guessing santur

  • What is the point of changing the Piano's color at 0:34? xD

  • soundwise-motif all day. I dont see how this is better than the M3. Please explain..

  • I do think they are missing the whole pad control for the karma chord assignment.

That is probably my favorite feature on the Original Karma Triton and the M3.

  • @bradtwo no it has them, but they are not physical pads. you can bring up a pad display and just tap the buttons on the touch-view display. It's not the same velocity-sensitivity, WHERE you touch the the pad determines the velocity. It's not really the same, but, i just figure I made it work before without them, and at least they're there in some incarnation.

  • I do think they are missing the whole pad control for the karma chord assignment.

That is probably my favorite feature on the Original Karma Triton and the M3.

  • Amazing! How much does it cost?

  • @MarcoPinn 3799.00 for 88 keys

  • And thus ineptitude reaches new hights as the first new driver for more than 10 months, DOESNT resolve the problem that has caused the previous driver to NOT WORK for the past 3 months. It takes a really really brave company to ignore customer support so completely and utterly...

  • Everytime a new keyboard like this is announced it amazes me how badly the bread & butter sounds are. The Roads, Clavinet and organsounds are unusable and very unrealistic. Is it so hard to do what Clavia is doing, and putting in a workstation? I´d would be the bomb. Imagine having one workstation with mulitple splits and layers, and one midicontroller un top. Compared to switching sounds and position on a setup, of eg. a Nord Stage, Nord C2, 88 keys Workstation a submixer for stage monitoring.

  • fuck this,microKorg ftw

  • The ending was priceless.

  • Which 1 is better Oasys or Kronos??

  • Why hate something you cannot have, and haven't even tested? Please do get your facts right before spreading your unconvincing hatred!

  • I feel that is a very superficial keyboard, they try to attract attention with large numbers of memory and engines, but still the same mode of play and expresion, also, always tend to be demos of music styles that has been created and recreated, and more. When Korg invented something iNove how to play the keyboard or the way in which keyboard sound?

  • 9 engines, for what? There are the same old technology. Korg is lacking for new sound creaton and expresion ideas. I have a Korg TR, and i manage to do exactly the same things that the Kronos "ready to go" offers. Plus, let's be honest, Karma is useless. I want to put my hands on a Roland Phantom G, thats interesting!!!

  • @IndigosCinema

the point is it is a keyboard that can do all types of synthesis. With a korg TR you wont get much past "passable" the triton classic blows the TR out of the water. A *fantom* G will give you garbage. Nothing is as flexible and realistic (in terms of features) as the Kronos. If youre a preset baby then this will probably not be your board. But bottom line this keyboard is made for people who make original sounds, using SYNTHESIS. the most important part of a SYNTHESIZER

  • @RobRosen92 Hmmm... i dont know, im not a preset baby (you can check my channel to prove it) Is just that they trying to do something thats is already done, i need something new, new sound interface, new effects chains, new sound build up system, not a all-time-keyboard bundle. Oh and by the way, in numbers, yeah you are right, fantom G is less, but they did change the build up system expecially in the combi mode (aka live mode) and integrated pad, so as a keyboardist im looking into that.

  • Can you say TRITON "EXSP" EXSPENSIVE lol

  • 4:57 to 5:13 hahahaa i loled that bit

  • Hmmm, not blown away.

    Looks cheapish.

Buttons look like the ones used on the M1, which were not very strong.

Still have to lean over the instrument, why not make a tiltable panel?

If it's suppose to be an all in one machine, it better have an awesome sequencer too.

    Where's the firewire connection?

  • I don´t like the acoustic guitar it´s so metallic not natural i think the yamaha motif xf is a way bett
