Years ago, MTV and VH1 should have aired a non-conceptual video of "Remember The Heroes". It can be seen on YouTube by typing in Sammy Hagar Remember The Heroes 1983. Nevertheless, I agrree with you. VH1 Classic should have aired this some weeks ago.
Has Sammy Hagar ever written a song that doesnt kick ass? My first concert was Three lock box tour when I was thirteen. I was blown away by his performance. Nobody put into a show like the RED ROCKER! RESPECT!
This was my favorite song he performed at the first concert I ever attended in March, 1983. I really wish awesome music like this dominated the airwaves again.
The local radio station here in Philly played this song when it was first released and then it disappeared off the face of the earth. But it never left my memory. I've literally spent years looking for this song. Thanks for posting. Is that Mike Reno on backing vocals?
Allen Coates/Broken Man, Youtube its my first video , check it out its pretty cool! Sammy Hagar is one of the all time greats! I would love to jam with him in his bar or write music with him sometime. American great singer. allen.coates@mail.com Thanks Sammy for years of showing me how its done!
Excellent song! This song is so much more than just a great rock song. God bless America. And God bless all those that fight for our freedoms. Always remember 9/11. This song should be played once a day, on every radio station, EVERY SINGLE DAY.
Heard this tune while driving to work in San Antonio. Played after a 9/11/2001 actual vocal/voice montage of the events of 9/11/2001 on a local rock station. The montage and tune left me both heartbroken, strongly resilient, and intensely proud of all folks in uniform that protect our freedoms without asking for anything other than a small paycheck in return, God Bless u all, God bless America, and we will NEVER FORGET.
Great Video tribute, Thanks. 10 feet from Haggar at Cabo Wabo, bet my stepson 1) he wouldn't be in Cabo, and 2) if he was we wouldn't be able to get in. He was and we walked right past the crowd (we were invisible) Step Son is former Airborne gnarly guy, he pushed us through a group of Gay body builders, they accosted me, said they were also black belts, he came back to rescue me and told them:"if you were black belts we would be on the ground looking up at you by now" it gave us our escape.
REMEMBER THE HEROES SAYS IT ALL. A Special Dedication to Felipe Contreras and to all the fallen soldiers. God Bless the Heroes that are still out there.
god bless u 2 st louis earl !! for serving our country!! ihear the horror stories of the vietnam vets comming home. no vet should have to go through that.
Back during the Vietnam war, when our soldiers would come home they got the cold shoulder from our nation. Those men went through a hell many of us will never come close to realize. For many, the real hell was when our own people turned their backs on these men who were just doing their job for the politicians in Washington. If you ever meet a Vietnam vet, Welcome them HOME.
I know this is a tribute to all of those who fought to defend our freedom in Vietnam but yesterday marked the 35th anniversary of another tragedy, the wreck of the ore vessel the Edmund Fitzgerald which went down as it was swallowed by Lake Superior during a huge storm on a voyage set asail for Cleveland being its final destination. All 29 crew members aboard died. We should also remember the heroes of that tragedy in addition to those who fought for us in Vietnam on this Veteran's Day.
I can't hear it, must have pulled the music?? I dunno, but it is on Three Lock Box, my copy. From what I recall ... I have HSAS as well. Mike Reno basically sang in duet with Sammy
It's about Vietnam......the song goes back a ways......the theme will alway be true....all soldiers, all conflicts, all wars......I'm a Vet.......the heroes are the ones that didn't come back.....I just did what I did.....It's beautiful to hear in Rock-n-Roll, though.....Sammy has always supported us.......Freedom isn't free ......the price has always been steep.........
@moodswingbass HSAS formed in 1983, AFTER Hagars Three Lock Box Album premiered in 1982 and HSAS's first and only album Through the Fire was released in 1984
Mike Reno wasn't any part of HSAS and appears no where on the album (so you contradicted yourself) and Mike Reno only did back up and chorus vocals on Remember the Heroes
im going into the navy so its very unlikely i will ever be fired upon, but IF i died while in battle against communist forces... thats a damn good way to die!
Thanks a lot PlatniumPiano, there was a guy that had this song post but now its gone. I appreciate you putting it back on. We should never forget our brothers in arms that laid their livies for us. God Bless thier souls. I wish I was with them soon my brothers.........
@Sniper28008 It aches beyond words to lose a brother in arms, Don't leave us too soon though, they are at peace now and can wait a little longer for you. Greater love hath no man than this, than to lay down his life for a friend.
God bless you and keep you safe, as you keep us safe.
How could this song be forgotten, especially at this time in our countrys history? PEOPLE WAKE UP!!!! Thank you for the video and the sound quality. Former USN '78-84'
@dbrewer1958 From one vet, to another, I agree, Sammy hit it right on the head with this one, and it's not describing just Vietnam vets, but all vets from every conflict, and war this country's been since day 1. USN '90-96, 3rd Fleet, USS Cushing (DD-985).
@dbrewer1958 We will never forget this timeless classic especially on Veteran's Day. We will never forget those who lost their lives while defending our freedom. Thank you Sammy for remembering our heroes.
Sam should've re-released this after 9/11. It's a fitting tribute to those who didn't survive that terrible day in NY.
