Coach started out as a leather purse company. I believe they only jumped onto the "monogram fabric bandwagon" after every other high end company (Louis Vuitton...etc) created a monogram bag.

But Coach has some AMAZING leather bags, which are alway more expenisve than the fabric ones. They are so well constructed and will last FOREVER with the proper care and the best oart is you don't have to have the hideous monogram fabric declaring to the world what brand purse you carry.
