Starscream went out like a G!...But as for the comparison of Armada and G1, you'd got to remember the differences in their creations. G1 is and will always be classic, the first to do it and the originals can never be bad. Armada upgraded all of it and had its own spin on it. Both were great, bottom line. But nothing, and I mean nothing, can top Transformers the movie, where Galvatron was born.
After I watched this episode years ago, I vowed my undieing loyalty to Starscream. No matter how he is portrayed in other shows. I really hate Bay for killing Starscream the way he did. I mean being killed by humans? Seriously? Worst. Way. To. Die. Ever.

Bay Starscream: Died from two pitiful Boomstick bombs in his eyes.
Armada Starscream: Died a true and honorable warrior's death while gaining redemption and bringing truth and peace to Bots and Cons alike. This Screamer couldn't have been a better one! R.I.P. old pal!

Starscream outsmarted him. Galvatron was convinced Starscream turned against him. Then in the end, Starscream proved he was a loyal, brave soldier. Something Galvatron didn't know from the start.
This will always be my favorite Transformers series, not only because it is the first Transformers series I ever actively watched (I very vaguely remember Beast Wars and Robots in Disguise), but because of the characterization of Starscream. I am tired of him being portrayed as a G1 carbon copy in almost every Transformers series. I don't care if G1 was the first. I want my honorable Starscream back.
Armada's version of him showed him to have great strength of character. Admittedly, I don't remember much about Armada. The only reason G1 TF isn't as blurry is because I've had access to it more recently. But whoa...that was effing epic. :O I actually felt pretty sad for Starscreamer.

Starscream was more badass in Armada than Megatron was. Armada was the only series where Starscream wasn't a wuss or was constantly trying to overthrow Megatron. I just can't believe they made him such a badass in this series, but then when Animated came out, he's even more annoying than he was in G1. Starscream was never the same in Energon or Cybertron series.
He has the same voice actor which is awesome but those series made it look like Armada never happened.
Starscream died for me in Armada series aswell as did Transformers series. Energon was bad and Cybertron sucked like hell. I don't even want to bring up movies.
Oh, and BTW, TF Prime is actually better than anyone thought it could be. It combines the best elements of all the shows (except for Armada's fantastic Starscream), and put it into one full season of animated AWSOME!!! Check it out if you get the chance, all the episodes are here on youtube.

As far as I know, there were comic book adaptations and then a series of comics set just after the capture of Megatron at the end of the season. I think it gets explained there. It's difficult to get hold of though.
Armada's good from about the middle of season 2 onwards. A good episode to start from would be the two-parter "Past". If you really want to know about the series before then, it's quicker (And FAR less painful) to read it up in wikapedia.
I saw this few months ago for the first time. Trust me I escaped to the back of my (extremely jungle-like) garden so no one can see me crying and I stayed there almost for an entire hour. Now I'm rewatching it and tears come out much harder.... C'mon, who the hell wants to see one flying Dorito after this warrior of honour we saw in Armada?
Totally agreed, the Starscream (And, well... pretty much everything else) from the movies SUUUUUUCKED. This is the Starscream I grew up with, and the one I'll always remember.

Bumblebee wasn't in Cybertron--actually, he was missing for quite a long time until the movies and animated came out.
I kinda' liked Cybertron, but it really didn't 'speak' to me all that much. There were a few parts of the series that were brilliantly written, such as how they explain the whole mythos surrounding Primus and Unicron (Which has now officially been toped by Transformers Prime)
That's a different continuity. With Transformers, you've got to think of them as different continuities. In Armada, he was always a decepticon, but had a sense of honour, joining the Autobots for about two and a half episodes then going back. I G1, he was a scientist who joined the Decepticons when it was first formed. They're not exactly the same characters, despite the same name.

1- this is an anime of 100% animation, not like on energno where the robots where pretty much made on google sketchup
2- have better fights
3- starscream is now a badass neutral decepticon who wants revenge
4- starscream actually dies for the autobots (a plot twist, wich i love it :3)
5- in the final battle the autobots even dare to make a joke about the kamikazi pilots of the WWII!

I just can't believe they made him such a badass in this series, but then when Animated came out, he's even more annoying than he was in G1. I refuse to believe the Micheal Bay movies are about transformers. It's like taking the movie 300 and giving it the plot and dialogue of a crappy Sci-Fi channel movie.

Starscream's last words are understood and I wish he didn't died trying to save the universe. It felt so nostalgic when he spoke with the blue sword through him, especially when Megatron rethinks his last words. Starscream judgments on others are quite accurate.

Starscream was never the same in Energon or Cybertron series.
He has the same voice actor which is awesome but those series made it look like Armada never happened.
Starscream died for me in Armada series aswell as did Transformers series. Energon was bad and Cybertron sucked like hell. I don't even want to bring up movies.

Oh, and BTW, TF Prime is actually better than anyone thought it could be. It combines the best elements of all the shows (except for Armada's fantastic Starscream), and put it into one full season of animated AWSOME!!! Check it out if you get the chance, all the episodes are here on youtube.

As far as I know, there were comic book adaptations and then a series of comics set just after the capture of Megatron at the end of the season. I think it gets explained there. It's difficult to get hold of though.

Armada's good from about the middle of season 2 onwards. A good episode to start from would be the two-parter "Past". If you really want to know about the series before then, it's quicker (And FAR less painful) to read it up in wikapedia.

I saw this few months ago for the first time. Trust me I escaped to the back of my (extremely jungle-like) garden so no one can see me crying and I stayed there almost for an entire hour. Bumblebee wasn't in Cybertron--actually, he was missing for quite a long time until the movies and animated came out.
I kinda' liked Cybertron, but it really didn't 'speak' to me all that much. There were a few parts of the series that were brilliantly written, such as how they explain the whole mythos surrounding Primus and Unicron (Which has now officially been toped by Transformers Prime)

That's a different continuity. With Transformers, you've got to think of them as different continuities. In Armada, he was always a decepticon, but had a sense of honour, joining the Autobots for about two and a half episodes then going back. I G1, he was a scientist who joined the Decepticons when it was first formed. They're not exactly the same characters, despite the same name.
