Heard the song on the radio in 1992, and absolutely loved it, but then forgot about it. I'm so glad I found it here again. These guys also had another phenomenal song called "Wallflower", but sadly, it's not on youtube anymore :-(
@Harriet1984 I had a moment then, I read this comment and thought, 'hey wait a minute, he's engaged to my aunt', amazing way to stumble across people you know! :D
i saw them live in camden the underworld right next to camden tube station around 90-91 the best gig ive ever been to.. if simon from hungerford reads this thanks for taking me and get in touch.. paul from thatcham..
Saw them in 1989 in Inverness in a dirty pub when I was off duty in the Army stationed there. Talked to the drummer about the band and had a good talk. Bought a badge from them costing 50p. Sadly it went the way of the wash a year or so later. But were they good and they did play all their songs in that gig.
Saw them in farnborough rec years ago great band, remember I had to look after my little sis she wondered off and staged dived really small gig only around 200 people but really good
there was a song i abs. loved by mega city in 1993, something like 'magic rain????' i'm probably way off the mark but whenever i try remember the song title i think of magic and raindrops on a window. havent listened to them since cos my ex boyf kept the discs. any help would be v appreciated as would LOVE to hear this song again, and others, im on ebay lookin lol
mc4 and dinosaur jr are the reason i started playing music and im still doing it at 30 years old.saw them so many times at the boatrace and junction in cambridge..amazing live and sorely missed....r.i.p fella....x
MC4, Dinosaur Jr and the Lemonheads did it for me. Although I have to say, this is probably my least favourite song, as all I think about is the Green Cross Code Man ("Stop, Look and Listen"). I find it difficult to take seriously. Check out Vote for Pedro by Ipanema. Cool song - the videos of Youtube
never realised that wizz had died. So sad. RIP mate. This album helped me through such a difficult time at Uni. I missed them to go out on valentines with an (ex) girlfriend. WHAT WAS I THINKING. Bonkers!!
holy craps, he went to StGeorges, its a death hospital, people go there and get worse. I would never go there again, they nearly killed me trying to fix a simple hernia
This song gave me faith in music after years of putting down my guitar and not really bothering with any modern stuff at all.Within days of hearing this on "The Word" i'd formed a band and we spent one afternoon in a rehearsal room on The Strand,Swansea. We were crap! Now,if I could only find some Airhead!!!
The MC4 may not have sold mega loads but I saw them more times than any other band. There's a damn good reason why... they were a splendid live band. Wiz, you'll be sadly missed. Jim, Maff and Steve see you at the fOUR 4 WIZ event.
Carter USM, Senseless Things and Mega City Four at the Birmingham Hummingbird (1992??) before the days of Carling sponsership.
Mega City Four were fantastic. Sebastopol Road is the album that should have sent them into the stadiums, big, glorious songs, sung with a heartfelt sincerity by someone who has been taken far too early.
Rest in peace Wiz mate, this ex-teenager thanks you for the memories.
Bloody hell The Old Trout in Windsor! I saw them there too a couple of times. Last time a came across that place it was a Firkin pub! Great memories though of The Likes of Mega City Four, Senseless Things and the like. RIP Mate
The Megas were awesome. Wiz was an amazing musician and such a lovely guy. He always had time for his fans and will be greatly missed. It's great to see their vids & live performances on You Tube. His memory will live on in his music.
This brings back amazing memories! Wiz was an amazing musician. I wished i could re-live the gigs and pissed up nights dancing to the megas. Wiz Brown R.I.P
