such a talented man, amazing songs. wouldve love to meet him. its a shame hes dead. RIP. current music industry should do more of these music than the rapping crap. just shows how life was back then.
ANOTHER TREMENDUS HIT BY SAM, NOW THIS IS OUT OF THE ARCHIVES. WHAT A LOVELY MELODY BY SAM, I MEAN A GREAT ROLLA BY HIM. SOLLO EL PUEDE CANTAR ASI, ESTE HOMBRE FUE UN TREMENDO CANTANTE, ESTOS ES DEL CORAZON. NUNCA VA VER UN SINGER COMO SAM COOKE.
@disneygothprincess Better then nearly all the popular singers today. I like to imagine that there are hundreds of talented songwriters, undiscovered, alive today. I'd say that no known singer today quite fills Sam's shoes.
@disneygothprincess waaay much better than ANY singer today; so much so, that singers had to actually compare themselves, LITERALLY to Sam Cooke, to find out if they could really SANG.
This song reached #28 on Billboard's Hot 100 in 1959. A cover version by Dr. Hook reached #6 in 1975. Sam Cooke (1931-1964) had a smooth, silky voice and was a great singer. He is missed, but his music lives on. ♫♥♫
@kbucher1977 Sam Cook was the influence of Tom Jones. He told in an interview a long time ago.Tom Jones worked in a mine in Gales and he got a contact with a SamCook record. If Sam Cook would not have die, he would have reached a Sinatra status after a period of time such as 90s.
Times were so simple then except for the race problems and how could you not love his music. I play it a lot thenks for posting
