As an aunt with two nephews with autism i to realize the hardships many family's have gone threw. Eric is a true testament of what love, determination, and hope stands for. Thank you for sharing this :). Truly wonderful :)
thank you so much for this video. this gave me a lot of hope for my son. i can't stop crying and thank God for this video. my husband said: "don't look at our son for what he is but for what he can be" Look at him with faith that he can do great things. You, Eric, had made that possible for me. Thank you, Eric, Than you to your mom and dad.
I am also autistic, did not speak until 4, and now I can easily pass as mild aspergers. However, high academics never was my thing, I just got straight Bs. I am still going to a decently ranked college and studying in environmental science (since it is my specialty).
Thank you so much for sharing this. As a mother of an autistic child, I realize the hardships that many families have gone through. I especially like what Eric said about limitations not defining people. That is so right. Again, thanks.
so much inspiration for people with autism and learning disabilities everywhere, the fact that you were not held back by your autism is amazing, you knew what you wanted in life and went for it, it must have been difficult but you are a wonderful inspiration to many people in including me and my little brother Ryan who has Aspergers I am learning disabled, I love that you did not let the views of others interfere with your goals in life, thank you for giving me hope, you will be very successful
I am having a very stressed out 24 hours. This video just put it all into perspective. Congratulations Eric and Family. You have inspired many including myself.
Good job mom and dad; he did great because of your hard work. I have a son that he did not speak until five years old too. This year he graduated class 2010 as the first place and gave the Valedictorian in his school. We have to give thank to the Lord for that! God bless you Eric, keep going up!
Thank you for sharing. Eric is an inspiration. Congratulations to mom, dad and teachers - good job. And kudos to all the students who could look past Eric's learning disability and befriend him for his true self.
Eric, you are PROOF that dreams can become reality with love and faith and dedication. I salute you and your parents. And, I add you all to my Rosary. Your teachers and classmates ARE the best!!! 'hands up' :)
Eric: You are simply the best. Congrats on the payoff for all of your hard work...and of your parents who had a different "institution" in mind for you...an institution of higher learning. I am in awe of you...keep on keepin' on...and good luck in your chosen career.

Just when we're down and feeling discouraged, God sends an angel to inspire us. God bless this young man in all his future endeavors.
(I am going to send his parents the bill for all the tissues I have used listening to their son's speech.)
