I wonder whether the thinking is that the TV is a modern vulgarity and must not be seen to be "part" of the room. So they plonk it down there able to be removed by a butler at a moment's notice...
I had my hens night at the ritz, we had high tea with cucumber sandwiches and the best creme brulie I have ever had, might not be raunchy or full on party fun but it was definately something to remember...
Very nice room! I really enjoy the old deluxe style and antique furniture. The large bathroom is really great. Too bad the view outside is so ugly (I´m sorry but London is just ugly in my eyes).
I stayed there in the summer of 2005. Not the premier place it used to be. Other hotels have surpaced it. Personally, if I go again, I plan to stay at the Marriott by the London Eye. Best location in London. BTW, we paid 700 U.S.D. a night and I don't think it was as big as the one in this video. Can't imagine what that one cost. Also, the workout room was tiny and in a secluded part of the hotel; I was too nervous to use it - if I screamed - I don't know that anyone would have heard me.
My family and I stayed there for 2 weeks in the christmas holidays. it is absolutely exquisite, and you even get your own butler service in the luxury suites, which we all took advantage of
701 has a low ceiling but it's very aristocrat. good for a couple + kid. Junior 513 is splendid. But the top secret is 422 (deluxe king) in the corner of the building and it's awesome!. good for a single occupied too. 422 is that grateful and romantic room has a view to the green park. What a great way to start your day and eat your breakfast near by the window. It is the quietest room of the hotel. Believe me. I have been in more the 10 rooms.
Isn't room 606 originally supposed to be the living room of a suite? I know that room 706 is a very nice suite (according to the Ritz London's Suites brochure).
The only way I'll ever see the inside of The Ritz. :-|

Traditional? Looks like a suite from about 1980 in Las Vegas.

Dear silvertoung,
You are so right, and to think the place was valued at £4OO,OOO,OOO.
It must be the land that is valuable.
.
There are plenty of nice descrter modern places to stay in London, with minimalist interiors and private buttler etc.
.
Have a nice day!

My partner and I also stayed at that hotel. Great location and easy access to all the venues London has to offer.

I stayed in 626, and that was more of a mini suite. It had a living room which was attached to the bedroom. What a fabulous hotel that was.
