Our video is called "Rexie our morkie playing" - the rug is an inexpensive synthetic one to replace the beautiful handmade rugs that he acquired a taste for. He eats everything. He has a generalized severe case of pica. Slowly he is improving.

@kristine1232 I agree, there is no need for that. When we got my Yorkie he was just like that with his toys / treats, very possessive. I showed him that it wasn't ok to get aggressive and if we did pick up his stuff from him, we'd give it right back. Now we have no problem, he happily lets us take it right from his mouth and/or he drops it for us to pick up and throw for him. There isn't any reason to poke and prod and pick at your dog when he's clearly upset like that. Teach him otherwise.

I have a problem when Rexie is up on the daybed. He is a morkie and much like a Yorkie as to small size and he is mistaken for a morkie by many. I am always in dread of his jumping off and injuring himself. Any suggestions? We put chairs around it to keep him from jumping up and he is only allowed on when we can supervise him closely to prevent him falling off.

@PKStefanini yeah my dog Roxy shes 2 years old now, always jumps from the bed and sometimes i even hear her legs crack or joints or something. We went to the vet and he gave her medicine for her joints so i guess shes doing okay, but theres no way of me stopping her, whenever she feels like jumping , she does it, and shes really chubby so the more weight goes on her legs.=/

@kaykwolek Yes, I did buy one but it was too low and so I donated it to Animal Rescue League. I now put a harness and light weight leash on him when I let him lie on my bed with me and this way he is safe in case I fall asleep and he tries to jump off.

@PKStefanini I had trained my Yorkie Lucky to jump on two big pillows to get off or on...he never jumped off except to a pillow...so I had pillows by couches and beds...he is gone now after 13 1/2 yrs....miss him so much..so intelligent..

@TheRuaga Thank you so much for this vital information. Your precious Lucky was so blessed to have you for a caregiver. He sounds like a wonderful Yorkie!! They are smart, that's for sure. Rexie outsmarts me every time. He is a wild morkie pup. Many think he is a Yorkie.

@TheRuaga Your precious Lucky was so blessed to have a caring and innovative owner like you. I finally decided to put a carrier beside the day bed and now he jumps up and down on that. He is larger than most Yorkies and Maltese - he is a designermutt (morkie) and weighs over 9 lbs. He is fun and very cute. We put a Youtube of him playing called Rexie my morkie puppy playing. Thanks for your great suggestion about using the pillows.

@PKStefanini I have always put big pillows and trained my yorkie & maltese to jump up or down on them...they will only jump on the pillow to get down...I have the nice pillows the size of a couch pillow everywhere they jump up or down....

@PKStefanini I've seen little stairs being sold for pets so that they can just walk up or down the stairs to get off a bed or something. Maybe a petsmart may have something to help you?

If that is a Pig ear, be careful I had a Yorkie puppy that almost choked to death on a piece one time, I had to reach down her throat and get it out. The ears flake and it was a flake about as big as my thumb nail.  I threw away all Pig ears after that.

@Betilda60 yea it is a pig ear, this was about almost 2 years ago we rarely give them pig ears anymore they do thend to get mushy and flaky and the dog ends up swallowing a big piece of it. but thanks!
