I purchased the Godin KingPin II recently and could not be more blown away...the Guitar is beautiful, very playable and a great value!! I have a 1943 Epiphone Blackstone that I was considering converting with a floating P-90 with a volume and tone in a new pick guard. By the time I was to add new machine heads, nut and possible ...

I'm so in love with this guitar (L). I'm looking for an acoustic archtop and this looks really good, so do you recommend it? How much did it cost to you?
I don't know why I did but I laughed really hard at 1:17 when you just switched to talking about the head stalk of the guitar. It was probebly how you just jumped form one to the other like that :P Good review man!
I live in La Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentina. I saw a Fifth Avenue today way to work, it had a P-90 on the neck, I supose the bridge is a a Piezo. I really like it. I thought would be much more expensive. Great review
i am wanting to learn guitar and guitar center has a sale so i could get this for 400 instead of 500. would this be a good beginer guitar and one to grow on. While i do not wish to get something extravigant as this for a first guitar i love the look of it. the f holes rock they remind me of the violin back when i used to take lessons on it and i love the look compaired to a traditional guitar. would this be a good one to learn on do you think.
@dp665 It sounds like this archtop inspires you. It's better playing an instrument you love than fighting one you hate. I find the neck really comfortable, and the low action makes it easier on my fingertips.
Go for it! Learn to make this guitar hum and growl and sing. I look forward to your videos. -– Tom
@zenbood did go for it lol. I went to guitar center today and unforcinatly they did not have any in stock so i had to order it. It was funny the manager there only had a used on in stock and did not even know they still made them. So i went online with him and showed them to him and now he wants me to bring it in so he can try it cuz he likes them to. Great review it really helped me decide on this.
@dp665 I'm not sure if you have bought a guitar yet, but yes this guitar is absolutely good enough for a beginner and even pro guitarists can get a killer sound from this one.
Nice review man. I'm looking forward to getting a 5th Ave - though I'm waiting for their apparent upcoming version which includes a Tremlo bar and other goodies. That said, that one will cost a lot more. I'm seriously impressed by the base 5th Ave model you showed, at ~$500 the ones I've tried in the store are really really attractive.
Good review. I think I'd agree with almost everything said here.
I have this in the natural finish and it's a dream to play. Very comfortable, very bright. It accomodates a wide range of styles, but I think I like it best for pickin'. Another neat feature is the tailpiece; you can actually use it for vibrato simply by gently pushing on it. Very cool effect, but you should probably have your tuner handy :)
Bottom line: This Godin is a keeper, and at the price point it's a #*%& steal.
Hey, fun review! I've had this guitar in this very finish for a couple of years now. It isn't my best sounding guitar but its very comfy to play and it's pretty. Certainly one of my favorite toys.
If I played guitar, this well-crafted review would certainly make me run out and grab a Godin 5th Avenue! Love them Frankenstein bolts (see, I really DID watch it all!)!

Got to play this at the local shop today. I've been playing guitar for almost 10 years, and this sounds absolutely amazing, especially for the price.

Great review.
The guitar is beautiful! You did a even better review the acoustic guitar magazine.
Godin did one. But they used a lousy mic. You could not really hear the sound of the guitar.
You definitely got me interested friend. Happy strumming with your new friend.
Enjoy...
