  • @IR0NMIDEN12 No, There are sharks in Gulf Of Mexico, Great Whites I think.

  • @JFrombaugh Well to start with, They had no VHF radio, Installed in the boat or portable, They also didn't have an EPIRB (Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon) No hand operated bilge pump, No Loran C, Boat probably didn't even have a compass.

  • I wonder how those guys are doing today.

  • did they receive a electric shock?

  • Comment removed

  • this is like #612 except this one is just a regular segment.

  • Okay class, name four things they did wrong.

  • was it it possible for them to be eated by sharks? or was the gulf of mexico an area that sharks dont live in

  • i agree with allgood2000 i am in sea cadets and when y flip y stay together and wait. never leave the boat. i think they hit there head or somthing because what they did was stupid.

  • DROWN!!! DROWN!!! DROWN!!!

  • that cutter planed out at night might run over them, but i suppose the visibility is better if your there

  • I hate when people stand around the scene of a trauma and blame the victim for what befell him.

Yesterday, we treated a man with three bullet wounds in his chest and one in his spleen; he was shot with a Tech 9.

While we were loading him, I heard these people asking what he did to make the perpetrator angry enough to shoot him.

I thought, Who the hell cares? The man's lying here dying, and you're worried about that?!

Calls resulting from crime are hardly ever the victim's fault.

That was quite the fall off of that boat. They have a trampoline installed on deck that thing?

  • Recently, we came to the scene of a respiratory arrest, and I gave the pt. high-flow oxygen by BVM.

Right away, one of her friends says, "What are you doing?"

"Well," I say, "I'm giving her oxygen and we're going to breathe for her by ambu bag."

"Oxygen!" he screams. "You can't give her oxygen! That's a drug, it's poisonous. Don't give her that!"

He got this info on-line, and refused to believe I wasn't hurting her.

He was so obnoxious, I had to tell him to leave the area.

  • Sometimes they get so concerned that they freak out and lose touch of reality. Just hope Police are on scene to assist as that can really hinder patient care.

  • I hate rubber necks in general. Them and the people with no training telling me I'm doing my job wrong....

  • i strongly agree with out man.... when your trying too help out it's putting stress on y and there not helping any. it's more stressful for y.

  • i agree with y. can't stand it when victim is blamed for somthing he didin't do or was not his fault. i found my friend lying on the steps at the school during lunch and found out that he sprained his ankle and everyone sad it's his fault but it wasin't.

  • ok, when they were found, they didn't have life jackets anymore, n it was just stupid to tell the other guy to go ahead. duh

  • I thought it was stupid of them to ditch the boat in the first place and try to "swim for it".

  • but if the boat was sinking, what choice did they have?

  • Your chances of being found decrease by about 80% if you leave the boat. Capsized boats stay afloat a pretty long time and boats are way easier to see then people.

  • The boat wasn't sinking, it just flipped upside down.

  • @allgood2000 well if it flipped thats like sinking cause the boat was going under water

  • They started off with life jackets. Why did they take them off later?

  • 4 miles? Where did he get that information?

The main problem was they told their family's that they were going 10 miles out not 20. The flooding could have been as a result of the boat being damaged on the way out.

  • I see a few things wrong, did the owner should have checked for any flooding problems, and checked the battery. That boat is a coastal vessel. A 19 foot vessel must stay within 4 miles NOT 20 MILES from the coast. I don't care if you think if it is safe, your life is more important. A case of dumass syndrome.

  • I also thought that leaving the boat was not the most intelligent thing to do.

  • I agree with you but I am sure that those guys got scared and panicked and sometimes when you panic, you don't think properly.

  • i nevers really knew that in a big baot there's curten rage limits thats interesting facts to me. never knew that.........
