well alls well that ends well! It looks fantastic anyways(I just got mine done at 33!) don't let anyone accuse you of being a bad parent either (shame on you people for the mass generalizations!!), my mom came with me to get my first tattoo at 17 and it was one of my best memories of her. My daughters are 5 and 7 and If they want a piercing or a tattoo WHEN THEY ARE OLDER, I will be there to support them just as my parents were with me.

Yikes!!! at 3:03 she says "that's what makes me a good piercer" WTF??!!! It took so long for her to get the bottom ball on-I would have paid and been out the door already with my amazing piercer-and WITHOUT the HUGE line of ink on her lip. @snail1888 The piercer was concerned that her lip might not be full enough but finally decided that it would be okay, so ask your piercer what they think. If they're not too busy, I'm sure they wouldn't mind taking a bit of time with you to find the one that would look best for your mouth.
@ohsnapitscassandra Canine bites... are those the ones on either side of the mouth on the bottom lip? Those can look really cool on the right person... I'm assuming that they look (looked, as the case seems to be) just fine on you. Just remember... each piercing you get leaves a hole that'll take plastic surgery to fill in. :) I still have four in my left ear (three on the bottom and one in the cartilidge at the top) that I haven't utilized in over a decade.
@ReneeFahnestock Thanks for the compliment... I think she's quite the fetching young lady too. I think that piercing looks smashing on her. If it helps, it certainly has NOT inhibited her talking ability whatsoever. She still rattles on and on just as she did before with no noticable lisp or change in voice tonality.

It's a vertical labret with a banana bar. I haven't heard it referred to in that way, but I'm guessing that's correct. It has the stud on either side and a bent bar in the middle. Good luck with your piercing!
My wife was a bit iffy on the piercing, but... we both decided that since it was something she'd been talking about for a while and something she really wanted, she could get it. We didn't pay for it... she saved up her own money for it. Plus, I think it looks really cool... heh.

Sweet dad, but whatever... heh. Yes, it healed just fine, no problems. The piercer gave her this really great soap for free to thank her for allowing her to do the piercing (she hadn't done a vertical yet). She was very careful and called two other piercers to verify how to do it right. My now 17 year old got a tongue piercing when he was 16 without telling us. Discovered it when he had his temperature taken in the hospital... heh.
I'm not sure. A reputable piercer may not want to do it due to the size of the lip on the edges as opposed to the middle. The piercer was very careful about sizing up the size of her lip to make sure it was big enough before she did it.

Disgusting and wrong... in your opinion. She does not have any tattoos. Just a lip piercing that she wanted to get, that she was excited to get, and that she paid for with her own money. If you read my comments properly I never mentioned that YOU abused her, just society. This is going to be with her all her life. And if you read MY comments properly, you'd see that I never made any comment towards me doing it. It can easily be removed and will be barely noticable if she chooses not to wear it. She knew the risks (which for a labret are minimal to none) and we went to a very reputable place that came highly recommended. I have three tattoos on my right arm that are easily coverable and 4 ear piercings that I don't wear anymore. You don't like teens getting facial piercings. Let's move on with our lives.

No it looks exactly like the vertical labret except its not in the middle of your lip.

Is that a hoop with a lebret piercing or is that just a verticle lebret with a banana bar? I like it.. and im looking to get a verticle lebret done in febuary.. do please get back to me and let me know :)

It's a vertical labret with a banana bar. I haven't heard it referred to in that way, but I'm guessing that's correct. It has the stud on either side and a bent bar in the middle. Good luck with your piercing!

My wife was a bit iffy on the piercing, but... we both decided that since it was something she'd been talking about for a while and something she really wanted, she could get it. We didn't pay for it... she saved up her own money for it. Plus, I think it looks really cool... heh.

Sweet dad, but whatever... heh. Yes, it healed just fine, no problems. The piercer gave her this really great soap for free to thank her for allowing her to do the piercing (she hadn't done a vertical yet). She was very careful and called two other piercers to verify how to do it right. My now 17 year old got a tongue piercing when he was 16 without telling us. Discovered it when he had his temperature taken in the hospital... heh.

I'm not sure. A reputable piercer may not want to do it due to the size of the lip on the edges as opposed to the middle. The piercer was very careful about sizing up the size of her lip to make sure it was big enough before she did it.

I really want this done too. My parents don't mind me having it, but I'll have to wait until I'm in college or if my school allows piercings (but that's not going to happen anytime soon). Only a few months to go though :D
Plus she looks really cool with that piercing.

I can't see why people are bitching. She's fifteen, she wants a piercing and her parent is fine with it it. End of story. It's not child-abuse. The piercing can be removed at any time.

She is 15? I thought you couldn't get one of those untill you were at least 18. Oh,yeah, sorry this is America where child abuse is politically correct and anything underage is perfectly fine. Disgusting and wrong... in your opinion. She does not have any tattoos. Just a lip piercing that she wanted to get, that she was excited to get, and that she paid for with her own money. She gets good grades and isn't allowed to date until she's 16. Take a closer look, because she doesn't look very abused to me. Get a clue.

If you read my comments properly I never mentioned that YOU abused her, just society. This is going to be with her all her life. Ok, she gets good grades and used her own money to pay for this monstrosity, but as a father you should of explained to her the risks of having this done. I guess you too have piercings/tatoos too? Like father like daughter?

And if you read MY comments properly, you'd see that I never made any comment towards me doing it. It can easily be removed and will be barely noticable if she chooses not to wear it. She knew the risks (which for a labret are minimal to none) and we went to a very reputable place that came highly recommended. I have three tattoos on my right arm that are easily coverable and 4 ear piercings that I don't wear anymore. You don't like teens getting facial piercings. Let's move on with our lives.
