This is funny and it is most likely rehearsed. I would say they do this little skit at a lot. There is nothing wrong with christians having a sense of humor ! As far as Ernie changing his looks there is nothing vulgar about the way he or any of the other members look. Perhaps they are trying to appeal to a younger audience and I don't see that as a bad thing, especially for this style of music.

I don't mean to sound rude, but they make me sick. Ernie went from looking like a respectable looking man his own age to a Clay Akin wanna be.Too me the transformation was so dramatic it's self-driven not God driven. It looks rather silly to be honest. At the Gaither concert they jump around like monkeys and then the first hymn they sing is turned into a comedy act. Distasteful! I thought it was to God Be The Glory, Not To Ernie Be The Glory! It's ok 2 have fun but don't lose sight.

ok i know what your talking about there is 2 tenor parts a first tenor and a second tenor normally at the first of most songs like this qurtet style the have the same notes and split every every once in while i hoped this clered some things up, but ernie&SSQ are what you call a TTBB quartet (Tenor1 Tenor2 Baretone and Bass Quartet)

Southern Gospel singers don't really actually get paid that much unless they own the group (even though SSQ makes &12,000 a show) There's alot of expences that I have to be covered when you travel with a full band and all those lighting effects and to rent out those big arenas.
