to try and make sense of the environment they find themselves in. I also have my own ideas as to what 'God' could be, though they differ vastly from yours.
In actual fact if you were able to 'zoom in' as you suggest, you would find a most unfamiliar place - as I'm sure you realise when you step outside of the different models and try to concieve reality 'as it really is'; its practically impossible - due to the nature of the 'confirmational bias' of a brain which has evolved to deal with situations presented to it in this 'in between universe'. 'Reality' as we percive it is just another, incorrect, model which our brains create
scientists and people in general to try and understand or convey understanding of the concepts with which they deal. We observe our world/universe as a continuous 3 dimensional environment with ourselves traveling forward in time through it at a steady and constant rate, and many of the models we create to represent the universe conform to this understanding and seem to fit this picture, as Sagan put it 'we live in an in between universe' or what Dawkins refers to as 'middle world'.
Hi dude, Intelligence is an emergent feature of the brain etc. Agree with you there, and I have thought a lot about emergence, and other topics related to it, which i would be more than happy to discuss with you since I think we have thought along similar lines, but with different diversions, understandings, insights whatever you want to call them. I would have to differ with some of what you say here though, and suggest a confirmational bias on your part, due to the modeling systems employed by
These are the sorts of ideas one has when one takes a healthy dose of magic mushrooms =] Few points. It may well be true that the universe is comprised of an infinitely, interconnected string of emergent intelligence, but that is a nonsequitur to the abstract concept of God as proported through theology. That simply implies that the former is a true account of the way in which nature functions, as opposed to the latter which is failed linguistics -- an abstraction defined through equivocations.
@celsius233 no doubt you probably already have, but also check out 'dub side of the moon, by 'the easy all stars' - a great version which Pink Floyd actually said they quite liked. You remind me of a friend of mine, who's just buggered off to Aus, so I had to like suggest some music to you in hi stead, your here, sorta - he's not.

What was the music used here? It sounds like an electronic version of the theme used in a film by the name of 'Possible worlds'

Actually, it's a trance version of "speak to me/ breathe" from dark side of the moon by Pink Floyd.
