@quailde250 I'd leave animations purely for characters or objects that have a significant change but using a consistent motion. Best practice is to keep it to characters only as UDK is perfectly fine with animating static meshes via Kismet.
It's up to you at the end of the day but due to the way static meshes work compared to rigged and animated characters, it would be more of a problem unless it's a continuous repetitive animation then by all means go ahead with it.
@quailde250 Having said that there are times where using animations instead of Kismet is needed (changing animation due to a user action). Try experimenting and see what you come out with.
@Varsher hey thanks for the reply i was asking becasue i use blender and the ase. doesnt work for me but i found a few alternatives to try out but thanks for the vid it told me every thing ive been looking for

Can i import the same mesh 3 times then use simplygon to eachother? Cause that will be way easier as i have Sketchup and not Maya.

could you possibly export it as a psk/psa or is that for rigged models with animations?

Thanks, although some people tell me that I explain things too much IRL, maybe it's a bad thing. xD
