  • Where can I get this amazing song's sheet?:< I want to learn that in piano!

  • Man, what a band Fred Waring had...Some of his riffs were extraordinary...Thank you for this classic posting...

  • A quintessential 1920s fun song!

  • Whatever else you might say about the 1920s, these folks knew how to compose fun songs that people could move to. "Collegiate" is a great example!!

  • ..and this was also one of Waring's first "Orthophonic" (electrical) recordings; 1925 was the year most record labels.ed by Victor, converted from "the big horn" to "the big mike".

  • Why dont they wear garters? I assume they mean the garters to hold up socks but WHY? And what does it mean to wear an Arrow collar low? I know about the Arrow collar man but what does it mean to wear it low? I had to go look up the sheet music to even figure out what they are saying and still dont know what it means! Darn kids and their slang!

  • Sock garters, yes. As a wearer of Arrow detachable shirt collars I can say it's impossible to wear a stiff collar "low".

  • Not bad. The Chico Marx piano version of this song is really good too.

  • hello swannee hello..goodbye montreal ...any ice young lady...?in my victrola here in Barcelona sounding

  • Douglas Fairbanks picked a Pickford for a wife, He should worry if the peas roll off His knife, Whats one girl in a million when You're in our shoes, We Have lots and Lots and lots to choose.

  • Today I received this record by post, and i live in germany, there these records are hard to find.

  • Let's give credit to the composers of "Collegiate," Moe Jaffe and Nat Bonx.

  • Thanks for the reminder! Moe Jaffe was my father.

  • whats with the very teeny weeny extract from pirates of penzance at the beggining?

  • Isn't it just "Hail, hail, the gang's all here?"

  • "Hail, hail, the gang's all Here" uses the tune of "With Catlike Tread" from Pirates of Penzance.

  • It's the cheese too!

  • Just swell, and how!

  • Gmmix, That's the berries!!!! YF, J.
