and for a 4 stroke it would be the compression. for example if your bike is not timed properly, having the camshaft/valves not timed with the piston position, having it too late or early (off-set). depending how much off it is it may not start because the average for a 4 stroke engine to run is around the 80-120 psi,

Pretty sweet. And pretty easy too. If you use an '86 Tecate and an '86 K5, it will almost bolt right in. I was laughing to myself how easy it was when I put mine together. What even cooler, is that the 250 engine will fit back into the bike and you can still sell it. The pipe mod is the hardest thing. The Pro Circuit pipe requires the least modding. Cheers.

Hey bud try finding TDC(top dead center), it will make it a lot easier to start. Just a tip i brought with me from my big bore 4 stroke. I know the Kx500 is a 2 stroke monster, but its still a big bore and needs a good thump past the first compression stroke to fire it up. Thats what i do with mine (03 Kx500) and it works almost every time, cold or hot. When its hot if i just sit there and kick randomly no go. TDS 1st, it fires up straight away.
