  • We need more real men like this in the world

  • Yep dodge that argument

  • LOL, people who are educated are so hilarious and quaint. It's not true, rather, that a single course in philosophy refutes Voddie's position, not at all!

Voddie's right. Those stupid children with fatal birth defects definitely deserved it. Not to mention those children that live to ten years with normal intelligence and a gruesome physical deformity. They definitely deserved to live just long enough to understand that everyone that would ever look upon them would cringe in disgust.

    /sarcasm

  • @quaternio Well, I wouldn't put it so masochistically but the deformities and problems of the world are the result of Adam's sin Genesis 3:17. The earth was cursed for his disobedience. But to be honest everything you just wrote is a human-centered emotionalist response to a Biblical truth. It would seem cold to you for me to say that God knew exactly what he was doing with your stated situations but that is the truth and your refusal to accept that does not negate the truth of it.

  • @LiveRaidei Then God is infinitely more wicked then any person in history, or do you too think we should punish all the descendants of criminals?

If I am wrong, and a god does in fact exist, my conscience is clear. God does not author what is moral. Anyone that kills children, rather than just killing the damned pharaoh, is a villain. I will not side with a monster like that; "as for my house, we will serve the innocent and the just," for no deity needs or deserves worship.

  • @quaternio I just sent you a message. This box couldnt contain the enough characters...

  • His his answer is deep. Evil isn't in the "world", out "there" somewhere. Evil is in the human heart. It's in you-and me. That's not presumption-it's experience, and honest acknowledgement!

Virtues exist-there IS a standard of some sort; we can all agree that it is "good" to be honorable, have integrity, honesty, excellence. Yet who hasn't betrayed these virtues?

So-God allows evil because WE are evil. He wants to redeem us, not destroy us. Seems like a pretty clear answer to me.

  • standard anti-intellectual tripe posing itself with high airs.

  • Presumptions presumptions presumptions.....

  • he doesn't understand the question

  • wow, cool clip

  • I'm so proud of my brother, it's great to hear him speak. I've been watching his vids for like 2 hours. lol

  • Beautiful

  • So you say NOW. But upon death, you will find out differently. It will be too late then. Stop lying to yourself. You are a sinner. You know you have done evil, you break God's laws, you have violated your own inner God-given law, your conscience, and you will answer for your criminality. Jesus Christ is the Saviour of humble, repentant sinners. Repent and cry out to God for mercy

  • Amen, Mr. Baucham!

  • Please explain.

  • "A fool finds no pleasure in understanding, but delights in airing his own opinions." Proverbs 18:2

  • Amen lol

  • @stoneez67 This is really ironic... Then again I guess most of the Christians watching this are really just enjoying familiar perspectives rather than inundating everyone with them.

  • "Human opposition only enhances your glory, for you use it as a sword of judgement" Psalm 76:10

We were created by and for His glory, and in the end, "every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord!"

If we still think that evil is outside our own hearts, then we are missing the source of it. We all have sinned and fall short of His glory and deserve eternal punishment, yet God is also loving and allows this so we can turn to Him.

Jesus Christ is Lord! Amen :)

  • Our very nature is corrupted from birth. Read what King David wrote about this. There is only one reason why God saves anyone... Mercy. You must first understand the radical depravity of man.

  • Though God has allowed and ordained the existance of evil, it has been done so that we may see His glory. See it in His justice, His mercy, and in His grace. He owes no one. "Shall the thing formed say to Him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?" Read Romans 9. God has created vessels of wrath and mercy. Whether you repent and belive displays which one you are. And it is all to the praise and glory of His grace. Infants are corrupted through Adam.

  • The main error in his revised question is that he assumes that when a human's thoughts and actions are taken into account, then there is a theological account of good and evil. We see the error when it is applied to babies who are human but are innocent in thought and action as well as people the brain dead, who are also humans but make no thoughts or have any actions.

Furthermore, if we asked his question, then he would have to explain how a god created evil and can still be good.

  • Noteable objections, however, the bible says that we were evil from the time we were concieved, so not even children are innocent. As for the brain dead, well that I leave in the hands of all mighty God, of coarse that depends on if they are brain dead from birth, or have become brain dead. If they have become brain dead, then before that time they were subject under the law of Moses, depending on if they were saved or not.

  • Though the Bible would have that babies are not innocent, contemporary moral philosophy disproves the Bible because it is now acknowledged that intention must be taken into account when deciding whether something is moral or not.

  • Also God did not creat evil. Darkness cannot be measured, it is the absence of light. Cold can not be measured, it is the absence of heat, evil is not a creation it is an absence of God. One that the devil turned to when he saw that he could not rule over what God had created. When he saw that he could not create as God did, he made it seem as though he were the author of "freedom" what we call "evil" which comes in many forms, most of which we would not call evil, but "lifestyle".

  • If God did not create evil, then God did not create everything.

Darkness can be measured: the surface area of the moon away from the Sun.

Coldness can be measured: the kinetic energy of any substance.

  • Now, I'd like to say coldness is NOT the kinetic energy, but instead the LACK of kinetic energy. Next, darkness is the lack of light. AND last, but not least, is evil. For an argument to the non-Christian people who are "too smart for their own good", evil is the absence of something--good. Coldness is not a thing, it is the lack of movement of molecules. To make a good argument, you'd have to think all of what you're saying through.

  • You obviously don't have a basic understanding of chemistry. The range of temperatures is a measure of kinetic energy or heat and by saying something is hot or cold, you are stating that the current temperature is greater than or less than the initial temperature.

This description of hot or cold is necessary because temperatures run on an interval scale of measurement, i.e. there is no natural zero for temperature. That's probably what got you confused in the first place.

  • Evil is not the absence of good, but the COMPLETE opposite

  • haha i didn't even see that we said the same thing lol

  • You should not reason with bias driving your questions. Do not assume the "supremacy" of either man or God in a logical argument, but rather, let the truth emerge on its own in the process of calm, dispassionate debate.

  • Please consider this comment from a Christian. Although I am a believer, I do not think this preachers argument is fair. If you assume that he speaking to non-believers, it is not fair that he demands they reformulate the question of evil in a manner that assumes an all-loving Gods existence. Which is exactly what he does.

  • But when people ask the original question, that statement in and of itself implies that there is an all-loving God in existence. 1st question asks, if God is real then how does evil exist. It sets a hypothetical situation in which God DOES exist and then asks for the explanation of how evil can exist in that reality. if this hypothetical God DOES exist, looking at our depravity, why does he allow us continued existence outside of mercy. We have no right to complain if he is real. Seems fair

  • This is the stupidest logic ever uttered from a human being. If god is SO powerful what the fuck does he care if an "inferior" being doesn't do what he tells him to do. That's like wearing a bulletproof vest and worried about pebbles getting thrown at you. Ridiculous!

  • you show you don't understand how Holy God is and how Sinful man is, in stating your objections that way.

  • and you DO understand? What, you have a private, direct line to God? Hilarious.

  • hilarity?

I have access to God's word - infallible and inerrant. not a direct line... i don't hear voices, if that is what you are asking. and I don't go on gut feelings... I have pepto for that sort of thing.

  • @jesusfreakrkg yes HIlarious!

You DON'T have access to God's word, you have access

to books written by MEN. Gimme a break!

  • Right, but the issue is not of God's power, the issue is holiness.

  • @plymc9

Holiness to whom? There's no proof of this "holiness" only contempation.

Just because you SAY something is holy, doesn't mean it is.

  • Fantastic.

  • great video Cameron

  • Great response!!! Music a little loud though... hard to hear.

  • i agree with him

  • great message
