  • Hello Friend, I would like to thank you for your tip, your help. concegui faser my generator. thank you. soon I'll post on YouTube.

  • Wind turbines. First i needed a huge roto caster. Done. Then i found the correct material with abs quality. Done. I have yet to design the turbine but seems that my options are endless. Finally the power generator. This is where you come in. Thanks for posting your videos.

see the rotocaster at matchbook69 in youtube scroll down to rotocaster.

  • @matchbook69 THANKS HOME. THE ROTO CASTER LOOKS SWEET. I RODE IN SOMETHING LIKE THAT FOR EXERCISE. I HAD A BLAST. I'M SURE YOUVE SEEN THEM BEFORE. PURE ROTO CONFUSION AND GYRO MIXUP OF CENRTIFCAL AND CENTRIFUGAL MOMENTUMS IN ALL DIFFERENT DIRRECTIONS AT ONCE. BUT I DIDNT LOOSE MY COOKIES. LOL. IT SEEMS TO ME, YOU COULD BUILD ONE OF THOSE AND GET YOUR FRIENDS TO GENERATE THE ELECTRICITY WILLINGLY. A TOTAL BLAST. WWWEEEEE!

    THANKS FOR THE COMPLIMENT.

  • Thanks Muddmann. Well done. I'm learning loads.

  • @ChrispyThomson THANKS!

I'M GLAD I COULD HELP. I TRY TO PUT OUT AS MUCH INFO AS I CAN PUT OUT THERE.

THIS VIDEO WAS FUN TO MAKE.

  • very well

  • @kabbo101 THANKS! THIS ONE TOOK A BUNCH OF EDIT TIME. AND 3 TAKES ON THE BRIDGE RECTIFIER EXPLANATION. FIRST TIME WAS BACKWARDS, SECOND WAS TONGUE TIED, BUT THE 3rd TIME WAS SMOOTH AS SILK.

  • Hole? or Whole?

  • @Davidthehappyfellow HOLE.... A HOLE IS THE OPPOSITE OF AN ELECTRON. OR QUITE FRANKLY THE HOLE WHERE THE ELECTRON SHOULD BE. ELECTRONS ARE NEGATIVE, AND HOLES ARE POSITIVE. THAT IS WHY THEY CALL IT ELECTRON THEORY, AND HOLE THEORY, OR CONVENTIONAL THEORY.

    GREAT QUESTION,

    MUDDy

  • @tomislavlac THE FIELD WINDINGS USE MORE FROM THE BATTERY WHEN IT SPINS SLOW THAT WHEN IT SPINS FAST. THAT'S HOW THE REGULATOR WORKS. SO WHEN THE WIND STOPS, THE BATTERY WILL BE DRAWN DOWN. PLUS IT NEEDS 600 TO 700 RPMs BEFORE IT EVEN STARTS CHARGING. IT WOULD HAVE TO BE MODIFIED.

    MUDDy

  • why convert it to dc when your going to convert back to ac voltage.

  • @BriggsEngine1 GREAT QUESTION, GLAD YOU ASKED SO I CAN ELABORATE. THE WIND IS WILD... AND SO WOULD BE THE VOLTAGE AND FREQUENCY OF AC. SOME AC THINGS ARE OK WITH THE WILD PART, BUT MOST ARE NOT. BATTERIES AS REGULATORS AND INVERTERS AS FREQUENCY AND VOLTAGE OUT REGULATORS MAKES THINGS A BIT SIMPLER. 12 VOLT LIGHTING AND 12 VOLT SMALL APPLIANCES ARE A BLESSING TOO. I USE THE AC FROM THE WIND TURBINE FOR MY 12 STRANDS OF LED CHRISTMASS LIGHTS THAT LIGHT UP THE YARD AND HOUSE. I LOVE THAT.

    MUDDy

  • Whats with the little handgun?? hardly a workshop tool. Maybe in some US states it is...

  • @antcowan HA HA! NOT A GUN DUDE. IT'S ONE OF THOSE TURBO LIGHTERS WITH A RED LED LASER TOO. I USE IT TO BURN INSULATION OFF ENAMEL WIRES AND WELD GOLD. THE LED GOT HOT FROM OVER USING THE FLAME SO IT STOPPED WORKING. BUT THE TURBO FLAME IS GREAT. HA HA I BET YOU WERE THINKING... THOSE RED NECKS AND THEIR GUNS. THE ONLY GUNS I HAVE ARE POWDERLESS. NO GUN POWDER. AS A TOOL.... I SAW A GUY CUT DOWN A TREE ONCE WITH A BLACK HAWK. WOW.

  • pls for does who didnt know what he is doing , pls try to see early part of his video to know what he is talking about , then you will be able to be amazed with this wonderful work from local materials

  • what is the video about anyway in the first place ?

  • @tintinfan007 MAKING A CEILING FAN WIND TURBINE. THIS VIDEO SEGMENT IS SHOWING THE THEORY OD DIODE BRIDGE RECTIFIERS. WELCOME ABOARD.

  • nice and well explained thank you I learned from you

  • @drannard123 THIS IS WHAT I HOPE FOR WHEN I MAKE THESE VIDEOS. I WANT TO MAKE IT COMPLETE AND CLEAR ENOUGH FOR LITTLE KIDS TO UNDERSTAND. IF I CANT... I FEEL LIKE I SHOULD HAVE SPENT MORE TIME PLANNING THE VIDEO.

I LIVE FOR COMMENTS LIKE THIS. THANKS.

  • I think for the market you are aimed at, the videos are great. not everone watchin utub is a bransergun ur a prefessoor

  • @itsandbits1 THANK YOU !

JUST FUN AND PROJECTS. I LOVE TO BUILD THEM. THEY ARE NOT TOO HARD TO DO. SINCE I STARTED DOING THESE, I HAVE SEEN QUITE A FEW DIFFERENT BUILDS FROM SOME OF MY VIEWERS. IT'S NICE TO SEE ONE GO UP.

    MUDDy

  • I just wanted to know how to turn a ceiling fan into a wind turbine...there was no need for all the class room teaching you was doing the videos are to short for that crap...just show how to convert the fan so people can do it at home.

  • @bigjake1965 THESE ARE NOT THE CLASS VIDEOS. THE CLASS VIDEOS WERE REQUESTED. THEY WILL MOVE A LOT FASTER, AND HAVE MORE INFO. THE VIDEOS WILL BE DEALING WITH ONE MODEL OF MOTOR SO THE VIEWERS ARE ALL ON THE SAME PAGE WHILE THEY BUILD THEIRS. SURE IT CAN BE DONE IN 2 VIDEOS. JUST TAKE OUT THE INDUCTION RING AND MAKE A OUTER BAND, PLACE AND GLUE MAGNETS, AND RECTIFY THE CURRENT TO DC. AND CARVE A PROP. I WILL BE DOING A FEW DIFFERENT PROJECTS AT THE SAME TIME AS THIS SERIES.

  • Thanks Scott;

You are the first person that has explained diods in a way I could understand.

And how you charge a battery with a lot of voltage.

  • you would like my views of electricity and water. for every thing you have in an electrical circuit, you can duplicate with plumbing. calculations and all. I bet I need to share a video with my viewers on that subject.

    thanks for the great idea.

    muddy

  • I am REALLY looking forward to that.

  • I have about 4 videos that are about 4 weeks over due in my opinion. So if you dont see it soon and you think maybee I forgot,,,Please remind me to do so.

  • Thank you for sharing this info so freely. I have a few questions. (1) Have you experimented with a vertical blade version of this? What is your opinion of vertical vs. propeller type systems and (2) Can you recommend any websites where I can get a more clear picture of what the entire system looks like from generator to home appliance. Like a diagram for dummies type thing? (I'm just getting started) SteelGardenArt.comThanks again... Ryan

  • check out JEFFMOLLEY. I have not done a vertical bladed version of this.

my opinion of vertical axis wind turbines is they drag too much, but they are good for low level turbulant winds.

  • great info for a old fart i-m t/he same age

  • Ha Ha I feel for you too. Thats the best comment Ive heard all day.

  • sir, is this part of tutorial covers the charge controlling process?

i stopped my work because i have to buy a charge controller. But i dont want to spend money i want to create it with what i already have. So will this diode trick do a similar job as a charge controller or is that part is still ahead? im moving to the next video now and waiting for your answer before i start my work again. Thank you very much appreciate your great work!

  • the diode trick is just basic rectification circuit.

What it does is turn ac to dc. your batteries can then be charged and the batteries will act as a voltage regulator. what the charge controler will do is: get the maximum out of your solar or wind turbine. and it will protect your batteries from overcharge.

    MUDDy

  • Or: For $66, buy a decent charge controller!

  • Gotcha, I want one. $66 sound real good.

    Thanks.

    MUDDy

  • it idea same with hybrid-car system, thank so lot

  • Thanks for the info. I kind of figured they used different switching for the voltages with rectifiers configurations for powering and recharging at higher voltages. that way they can get more power with less amps and smaller wires.

    MUDDy

  • Mudd,

I have a few questions. Do you recommend putting the batteries in parreral or series for this design, and why?

By the way nice design!! Thanks for all the help.

  • series because the open voltage is real high. the higher you set the battery voltage the more you will be appreciating the unit. I suggest about 36 or 48 volts. This will alow the blades to turn a little faster and absorb more of the winds energy. Too low of a voltage might make the blades stall out early. when the blades spin faster the voltage is higher and the wires dont heat up as much to deliver the same power, thus the blades being more efficient and higher voltage, it makes more power.

  • So if I put the batteries in series do I need to rewire the diode rectifier differently, I have them wired like you showed in your video, parallel.

  • Sorry, I watched this video again (for the 100th time) I see you leave the diode rectifier connected parallel even thoe the batteries will be in series.

  • if the battery voltage is closer to the output of the turbine the blades will move faster and produce even more power for the batteries to absorb. In all reality , the amperage will probably stay the same but the voltage is higher. voltage x current(amperage) = watts. watts is the power.

  • great that is just what you want to do.

the diode bridge rectifiers are in paralel on the out puts so that the voltage remains lower. If you put them in series the voltage would be higher and the current would be half value.

run your batteries in series to help match the output voltage. 3 or four batteries will put out more power over all,

EXPLANATION= if you short out the wires the blades will stop. If your battery voltage is low the blades will spin slower and probably stall.

    next....

  • no you will not have to rewire. you have it right. GOOD JOB>) .Dont worry about if the wiring is paralel or series on each at the same time. What you are trying to accomplish is matching the output voltage to the battery voltage.

The battery voltage should be about 1/2 to 1/3 the open voltage for best results.

Even a solar panel has twice the open voltage than the battery voltage in most cases.

    MUDDy

  • muddymuddymuddmann, thanks for taking the time and making this wonderfull toturials....great work...

i think i will give it a try tomorrow.

  • Much thanks my friend.

  • no it is a laser pointer and a torch lighter. the trigger points the laser and the hammer ignites the tourch. Bang lol

    mudd

  • haha is that a real gun on ur table??

  • @BeefyCrackers12 NOPE. A LIGHTER IN THE SHAPE OF A GUN. AND A LASER POINTER.

    MUDDy

  • Thats great you are really good teach...your explanation very well..

I also you this system in my alternator.but i found ,20 to 30 % amps loss ...when it convert AC to DC..

    What was your result.?

    Thanks...

  • I know it is more efficient to run the voltage in ac to the power storage and rectify it there, but it would take four wires seeing as it is ac voltages in 90 degree phase from each other. the main loss is in the feed line if you transfer it in the form of dc. but if the power is lost in the line it allows the blades to spin faster with less load on them due to less torque being taken from the alternator. along feed line will do the same buffering effect. if the blades move faster as a result,.

  • .....then the alternator will produce more voltage as a result . In guessing i figure I havent lost as much as that.

    mudd

  • OK

    I have one Question

    I have one battery 12volt 120 Amps/h

how much amps are needed for fast charging,do you have any idea?

  • Well fast charging a battery will heat it up a bit and is not realy good for it. but if you want to calculate the time to recharge. I would say you already have amps stored in the battery if it is any good, so i would charge it at 15 to 20 for an hour and then drop down to 4 or 5 amps for trickel charge , till the voltage on the battery can stay at 13.8 volts on its own.

    mudd

  • thank you Scotty B... :)

  • Any time

    mudd

  • This is my guess . I am not an expert on batteries. mudd

  • doug2877 he is a teacher for you and I

  • That's the goal. I love the friends I meet on this channel and answering the comments and questions. Any time. MUDD

  • you should be a teacher

  • Ide love that, or to a do hands on a seminar.

but after 5 minutes of class , Plato left the building. Mickey mouse and McGuyver stayed though.

  • thank you for your time great videos I have learned so much after one of your videos I got a fan from my town dump 15 minutes later I was putting amps into a battery bank now I need to take my time and make it the best I can.THANKS AGAIN FOR THE INFO

  • Thanks for the kind words my friend. It took me more than 15 minutes. but basical i have done a few in less than an hour without glueing or rerouting the wires back through the center pipe. i think a vawt with a belt would do well. but i want to rewire with some 18 gage first. MUDD
