  • Which one is better RH150G3 od RH50T ?

  • @MsMetalhead37 - they are pretty much diffent. The RH50T is much more traditional...

  • dude... seriously?! the tones ur getting outta this thing are ridiculous. harder than woodpecker lips. i have an MTS coming (versatility), but i'm wondering if i shoulda saved the cash, and got this instead. thoughts?

  • @dg082306 - you did it right! The RH150G3 is great for the money...but there are better Randalls out there ;-) I'm playing the T2HH Heaven & Hell (Gus G signature) now and the MTS series should even be better...

  • 1:10 Its Paganini!!! I heard this! ;D Cool

  • Hey,,Im using your settings and my amp still don't sound the same....LOL.

  • Hey guy. Do you mind if I ask you some questions about your amp?

  • @lucusarts1 - do it! But I have to say that I sold this amp quite a while ago. I play a Randall T2HH nowadays :)

  • @CategoryV Hey man I wanted ask if you think this amp would be good, for playing live, I wanted a Really good amp to metallica or megadeth kinda sound, do you think this one would do it. I cant find any better amp than this one, which is cheaper! thanks:D

  • @Martyfriedman001 - yeah. without any doubt it's hard to find an amp with this asskicking sound for less...

  • @CategoryV thanks dude;)

  • @CategoryV ah okey ;(

  • @CategoryV but do you know any cheap one thats good.??

  • @CategoryV man I have one more question, can I use the head alone with out that laney thing you got there, because Im afraid Ican't affort that at the momment, so I wanna ask if the randall head can be used with out the extra laney speaker.

  • @Martyfriedman001 - you can't use the head without the cabinet. Get the combo version, it has integrated speaker...

  • Why is it so hard to choose between excellent amps? I'm thinking about the marshall jvm-410, and this Randall RH150... Witch one would be the best? (in your opinions)

  • @TheAlianOlsen - the Marshall is way more expensive. If so you should compare it to the Randall T2, V2 or RT. The RH is a very good amp for its money, but comparable with the above mentioned. Just my 2 cent of course :-)

  • @TheAlianOlsen ask yourself this question

"Do i want a real tube sounding amp or do I want a solid state with slight tube characteristics"

Cost should only come into it if you arn't actually earning money from using the amp, if you are u should splurge and get something that you wont have to replace in the next few years

  • pretty awesome amp. really need to pick this thing up

  • bro is it full transister like its little brother the RH100 or is it full tube or combonation please get back to me asap cuz im deffinatly looking at this amp to replace my rh100 to which i broke :(

  • @thatcoolG - solid state (encorporating one single tube) but for the money still excellent!

  • annhilator stonewall!

  • megadeth /,,/

  • do you need the big amp on the bottom for it to work or no?

  • @LartenCreapsly - LOL, this isn't an amp but the cabinet (4x12")...

  • @CategoryV hey matze, deine box leistet mir übrigens nach wie vor treue dienste ;) hoffe bei dir ist alles klar? Lg, malte

  • @craiven1337 - hey, cool zu hören! Yep, läuft alles (aktuelles Projekt: Vindictify.de)...;-)

  • @LartenCreapsly Classy stuff man :D

  • Hey man, yesterday night i played AGAIN in a Randall rh150 head, equipped with 2 cabinets of 2x12 each other, its a national factory here in brazil called SNAKE. man, the sound of the amp was amazing... but i note that your head have a kind of WHITE drawing in master volume... I was played in Randall RH150 G3... is it truth that your head ALSO mute in high volumes?? Cause the model RH 150 g3 mute ... thanks for your attention and lets keep randall alive!

  • Lol I have almost this exact same setup. Just picked up a Laney GS412L, Iommi Cab for $60. Borrowing my buddies RH300 G3+ till I get my Marshall. I just thought this was ironic lol.

  • i play this head with a marshall 1960 4x12 in drop A....you can open the gate to hell with this head...seriously

  • nice guitar and nice faces

  • Would this be good for modern metal (BFMV, Atreyu, Avenged Sevenfold, Killswitch Engage ect.)

  • Believe me, it's not fixed yet. I bought the new one two months ago, and I have exactly this problem. At Volume 5 or 6 it's going silent! Hey man, I mean, this is a new amp made for heavy use...

  • @retofit Do you have a "clip" in your setup?

  • @Reality2Dream What do you mean with "clip"? The Cabinet is a 4x12"-Trace Elliott with V30-Speakers. There is also the Randall-Footswitch.

  • has it got a separate volume knob and a master volume knob so that you can crank it up at low volumes ?

  • @AceFire117 I don't believe it has (at least the head). However most cabs will come with 2 different inputs with different levels of impedance. I think the one I have is a 4 and a 16 ohms or something. The higher impedance bascially means you have to crank it a lot more to get same volume so you can still drive the tube hard but it doesn't shatter windows. Hope this helps.

  • Just to make something clear: Solid state preamp, mosfet power amp with an additional tube. So it's kind of a hybrid but not in the "common way".

The RH150G3 is known for some problems: Does anybody made the same experience that - all in a sudden - his Randall is going silent at higher volumes ?

  • @yprs - yep, a common problem with the old RHs that should be fixed with the plus model by far.

  • @CategoryV: OK, thanks for your reply. I've got a PLUS amp some days ago and now I hope that everything will be okay when I push him to 11. Will test it next week in my rehearsal room...

Sounds cool so far, hope I will not regret the purchase.

  • @CategoryV Believe me, it's not fixed yet. I bought the new one two months ago, and I have exactly this problem. At Volume 5 or 6 it's going silent! Hey man, I mean, this is a new amp made for heavy use...

  • @CategoryV: Just for the record: my RH150 G3+ is doing fine. No volume drop outs even though I play it at REAL high volumes ! Very pleased with this beast ! So I can recommend to check out this amp but be sure to play it at "11" without any problems before buying it. Looks like the Plus series is more reliable than the older series. And be aware: this amp is made to SLAY - nothing else !

  • @yprs hey man, i,m from brazil, yesterday i tested an Rh150 and experienced the same problem with silence in high volumes... the set was rh150 and a Peavey Windsor 4x12.. i waste 2 minutes on EQ and got a tone very similar to Dimebag... the guitar used was a epiphone SG with EMG 81...if randall solve this CLIP problem, the RH150 will be my next amp... see ya

  • @yprs the newer ones do also have this problems ! i own the randall RH150 G3 Plus and it sounds really good but the problem with the sound is still there. For generell information : I use a Korg AX3000G with volume on half. when i turn the channel and master volume a little bit over half the sound is gone. So you can say the at around 60 - 75 % the amp goes silent ! I use the amp for gigs. It wouldnt be nice on a gig to lose sound !

  • @HybridSoldier94: Yeah, I also heard from other people that even the PLUS series has this problem. My G3+ Randall has no problems at all - played it at INSANE high volumes without any volume drop outs so far. Looks like I got a reliable one. Too bad to hear that your's is "infected" by the mention problem. This amp is a great sounding monster and I just don't know why the people at Randall didn't fix that problem even with the new series. And it's very bizarre that only some amps are affected.

  • @yprs Hey, I have the same problem with my Randall. I asked the Randall support and they said that I should change the tube. Haven't tried that so far.....Could it be the tube?

  • @skullchick88: This "problem" seems to be very common. And I'm sure the guys at Randall noticed that. That's why I'm very angry about Randall cause they never really tried to find a way to solve this problem. As I said my RH150 G3+ works perfectly but I heard this story about the volume drop outs very often ! And I guess a tube change will not fix it. Sorry ! There seems to be no solution for the concerned amps... :-(

  • @skullchick88 My RH had the same, late summer 2009, short after buying it. Took it back to the shop, and the distributor over here fixed it. in fact, I don't know if I got another amp or my own one was repaired, but it hasn't had this dropping out problem since then. The shop mentioned 'wrong Ohm on the cab' but it has always been used on an 8Ohm cab. Mono btw, I use only one output, but that shouldn't be a problem.

  • What about the Clean sound? I've got an Marshall dsl 50 jsm 2000. But I'm looking for an amp wich is versatile. So I need a Good clean sound but Also High gain! So can you recommend this Amp. do this Amp fill my requirement?

    -

Sorry for my bad English :D I'm 16 and from Germany.

  • @metalfan0099 dieser Amp macht alles sauber aus der klassischen Musik fur alle aus Death Metal wenn Sie einen gunstigen Amp klingt verdammt thats keine hohe Dollar Amp schlieBen mochten KAUFEN

im 17 and from the US hahaha :D

  • @metalfan0099 "So I need a Good clean sound but Also High gain! So can you recommend this Amp. do this Amp fill my requirement?"

I just bought one used today, and to answer your question - it smoked my Marshall AVT 50 in distortion mode, but the Marshall is slightly more "tube" like in the clean channel. This amp produces LOTS of bottom-end, even in the clean channel. Dropping the bass to 1 made it comparable to the Marshall clean channel, and I'm talking George Benson clean, with a GB10...

  • Love how you riffed stone wall, that was deadly. Very nice dude !

  • Is this amp like the RH300G3?

    Is it tubed?

  • @bradyhasguitarskills

It's a hybrid. It uses Mosfet technology driven by a single tube.

  • Is this on the lead channel? I was interested in getting an amp like this because there's a cheap one around here.

If this is the lead channel, could you do a demo with the rhythm channel?

  • I want this amps :D

  • i don´t really like Randall RH150 .... not to be mean but... in my opinion it kinda sucks.... my school has it....so.... but perhaps they have a bad cabinet at my school ....LOL ..... however it was somewhat a good amp for metal but not enough for being a metal amp to me ... XD uuuh nice video... though...

  • Awesome!

  • STONE WALL!!!

  • Lol

  • nice set the world afire riff :D

  • Where you bought the laney and all that you cost? thanks :)

  • is this good for dream theater stuff? and how well does it handle a 7 string?

  • @TheThim51

excellent for 7 strings...for Dream theater, buy a mesa.

  • you're a good guitarist :)

  • love how you played annhilator!!!!!

  • WOW I just read its solid state?????????? thats amazing tone for a solid state

  • I think it's crazy that no one talks about his face when he's playing guitar

  • LMAO the harmo at :35 is hilarious

  • 143100

  • Can this thing do metalcore like as i lay dying. Maybe with a tubescreamer in front of the amp?

  • @BennyCrap I have this amp, you wouldn't need a pedal in front of it, its

amazingly versatile, has 2 gain channels so you can mold your tone perfectly

  • @TheRedeemed06 Okay cool! But im gonna look for another qmp insteadnof this one. I think it'll be way to loud

  • @Skom88 sorry accidentally typed that twice

  • i have this amp head, with a hartke cab

  • SET THE WORLD AFIRE!! Yeah! I love Megadeth.

  • You Played Set the World Afire wrong dude...

  • How much does this amp cost straight from the store?

  • That thing has baaawlss

  • whats better 4 metal, mesa or randall?

  • Haha Stonewall by Annihilator, nice ;)

  • At about 0:45 totally reminded me of three inches of blood!

  • w00w no effect

    sound wonderful

  • Comment removed

  • thats what they built for ....( gain)

  • See my goddamn channel, I use the same amp.

Wanna hear some Pantera? Steve Vai?

    Tell me if you like.

  • sick riff man. i actually like this song alot. why dont u make a song out of that ? with some good drumming.

  • is this amp any good for Kse and slipknot?

  • @MetalMa5ness just my opinion but i would say no , i slipknot doesnt really have that rectified sound that this amp produces , im not sure how versatile the amp is so im not sure , u probably could emulate slipknots tone , but if your going for their tone exactly i would get a Marshall tube amp. ANYBODY OUT THERE CORRECT ME IF IM WRONG .

  • ok thanks

  • Sry to correct you but one Slipknot Guitarist uses a Orange amp (Rocker- or Thunderverb) and the other uses a Rivera Knucklehead.

  • yo man im in love with that riff....i just got stoned off some of killer bc bud and now im rocking out to your riff....sick song man...

  • hey Category69 .. amazing tone and playing....I AM CONSIDERING BUYING THIS AMP , i am told i need Celestion vintage30 to get good tone....please tell me what you have to do to get this tone exactly......

  • Yep, lateron I switched to a 4x12" cabinet equipped with V30. Hell of a difference - best speakers there are, at least for metal!

  • Very good mate and nice tone agreed. I was going to get a Marshall Head, but I do like the Randalls indeed. I play in a Metal Band and a Top 40 Coverband as well. Love the sound - got that awesome 80's metal sound!!! cheers

  • @CategoryV

wait if you have a 412 loaded with V30s thats 120 watts total. so......why are you running a 150 watt head into it?

  • @Geetarfrik V30s are 65 watts dude

  • @CategoryV of course they are, aside from a 4x12 with two texas heats and and a couple swamp thangs....best combo on earth, at least imo

  • @bluntza im selling a RH150 if you're interested thnx

  • @bluntza Celestion G75's are great speakers to. the 30's(30watts) have a mid boost and the 75's have a slight mid scoop and more power handling (75watts).

  • @bluntza im driving it through a celestion greenback cabinet... well in my opinion it sounds kickass with those speakers, even though many say that they are best for clean and crunchy sounds

  • @Dohnty what do you watch the same videos i do or something you motherfucker and i will be getting it dick face.

  • @ESPLTDSMITHY Ooo did i step on a nerve or something

  • i'm going to get that amp

  • @ESPLTDSMITHY thats what you said about the flying v

  • alright thanks ive already looked into some Eminence Black Powder speakers thanks!!!

  • if the cab was Randall would be much better.

  • i have the 150 head and using with a Randall cab with 350 watts and it doesn't sound very good is that to many watts for the head?? note the people at samash told it has been on the sale floor for about a year or two.

  • Get better speakers, or get a cab with less headroom (closer to the wattage of your head).

  • Dumb question:

Does the head make any sound?

Or must you have it plugged to a stack of some sort.

  • Every head needs a cabinet...elsewhere it would have been a combo.

  • @CategoryV

    0:40 Set The World Afire!!!

  • @CategoryV good tone man i like it alot its good for solidstate but still your tone rules man i like ti

  • @akaboo69 - Thanx, glad to see that this video is still ranking high ;-)

  • @akaboo69 i think it has a tube preamp actually, mosfet power amp

  • @CategoryV can you run a head thru a combo amp?

  • @TheNohcim

Yeah if it got a cable which you can pull out of the "amp" then you can take a cable from a head, put it in and maybe there is a sound from the cabinet under the head(of the combo).

    Hope i could help.

THIS AMP IS BADASS. Bought it yesterday and it is amazing.

  • @brechtholdbrecht How did you buy it? I thought it was discontinued.....

  • If you play a guitar amp head with no cab it will either blow up or catastrophically damage itself.

  • yééé 2:05 metallica for whom the bell tolls

  • You have a RANDALL runnin' thru a LANEY?! What's up with you man?

  • Hehe, the cab is from the amp before. It's all gone anyway, nowadays I'm using a Randall T2HH with a 4*12 V30-equipped cab ;-)

  • i have the 300 watt version but it doesnt sound that good through my marshall mode four cab. sounds good through the laney though

  • Yeah Megadeth till deth:P:P

  • 1:10 isn't that from the Speed Metal book by Dave Celentano or something?

  • Its from Paganni's 24th caprice.

  • im thinking about purchase one of this amp, 'cause sounds really perfect. but i just want to ask if does anybody had any issues with this amp or what are the most frequently problems with this one? thanks for reply :)

  • @majlo1991 it has a lot of bass, its extremely loud so that can go both ways. its effects are great, the floor pedal that comes with it is amazing. I own it and i have heard roomers that it looses power at volume around 6. the loudest i will probably ever need is like 4 maybe. i can keep up with my drummer at 2.5, so over all its a great amp, definitely worth the money

  • Comment removed

  • might be the amp :P its kirks sign. afterall :P but its bit more megadeth of the playing

  • nvm... read wrong on the title

  • Set the world afire

  • what is the difference between the ordinary g3 and the g3 plus?

  • the circutry, ive had both of em and they both blew up on me. they had bad problems with the original and re-did the wiring and shit. but save the money and get a ENGL powerball!!

  • @Addzam g3 plus have a moduls from randall v or t

  • @Addzam

The too much bass problem with the wooofy soud is fixed and some problems in the "guts" of the head

  • @Addzam Different preamp.

  • sounds really good

  • What speakers do you have in your cab

  • In this video there were some pretty lifeless Celestion Rocket50. With Celestion Vintage30 which I bought later the amp learned to fly ;-)

  • Fürn Hybrit amp echt geil

p.s habt ma wieder nen paar auftritte in cux^^

    ihr rockt echt die bude

  • what are randall cabs like?

  • The Dogs Bollacks, I got this head and cab and they are Amazing!!!

  • i dont like them. just because every one ive bought has had buzz and no celestion speakers. i like marshalls cabs better...

  • you like plywood cabs hahahaha

  • this guy owns tons of gear....he uses all kinds of stuff......and im sure he likes the celestion vintage 30's that are in the plywood..

  • Gees, hop off his balls, i was talking about the marshall cabs that kirkbatten commented. Use krank cabs, solid wood front loaded, made in US, eminence speakers.

  • Great vid man! Can I use this amp at low volume for bedroom sometimes? Thanks

    Alexstrat

  • Just an FYI- It was this video that made me buy the RH150 G3 Plus. I should have it here in a few days! CAN'T WAIT!!

  • Red clouds flash, choking out the morning sky.

  • jacksons kick ass!! i got a randy rhoads, im thinkin about buyin a randall so far im thinkin yes

  • is this good live

  • so metal!!

    i have that guitar

  • I mean the first one

  • Haha, this is "circle of brutality" - a song that I wrote for my band "Wichita Falls". Check ist out on Youtube as well! (can't link here obviously)

  • hey man

    what song do you play?

  • Too numerous to mention...what time to mean specifically?

  • Comment removed

  • holy shit.. dave celentano at 1:10.

  • does this head sounds good when recorded with mic? and would it be good for hardcore and metalcore stuff? :) btw brutal sound!

  • I'm buying tht amp tomorow but uh should it sound half way decent with a squire fender strat? :\

  • does it sounds good at lower volumes as the randall RH 100? its the soudn "equal" at lower and high volumes?

    cheers \m/

  • it is

  • Hey man,

I got the same amp, but I don't get a tone that clear out of it, what settings do you use? Any additional effects?

    Greets.

  • maybe u need a BETTER CAB?

  • i guess your box is not very good then

  • Sweet. Keep it metal bro!

  • I have this head and the same cabinet. Quite good stuff but my guitar sucks... I think it will work really good when ill buy new guitar.

  • What is the song at start? nice

  • its a song he wrote

  • Man I'm getting The Engl Powerball so screw Framus cobra, or any Rivera amp.. My friend is deiciding between these two.. and he's getting the rh150g3 :D

  • Shut up.

  • Irrational brand snob!

  • what's better? Bugera 6262 or Randall RH150G3?

  • I would personally get the 6262, since it's all tube. The RH150 is mainly solid state with only one power amp tube. The Bugera is also better with pinch harmonics.

  • I agree. I was all SET to get 1 of these Randalls, but then Bugera came out, for the same price ALL valve!

I 4got ALL about Randall. This is SS tone modeled. Its good (dont get me wrong) but you still cant get true valve tone without valves!

Bugera souns WAY better than this Randall.

Randall is cheap chinese made too remember!

  • randall, bugera breaks down all the time.
