As for grace, I didn't say we believe we are saved by grace alone. I did say we are saved only through Christ which is different. Christ put conditions on our salvation which include accepting him as our savior among other things. Our beliefs are different from mainstream Christanity, as you point out, but we still worship Christ as our savior.
"Saved by grace alone" is from God. There are no other conditions. . there is not a single thing /condition I can "do" for salvation. All the work was done by Christ and Christ alone. Jesus + anything else=heresy.

I am Mormon, and I believe in Christ. Of course we don't believe in the same things about Christ. Differnent secs of Christianity believe different things about Christ. Every religion is different, if they weren't there would all be one big church. Jesus Christ is the central figure of the Mormon Church. A Christian is someone who's religion is centered on the Life of Jesus Christ.
In some ways i do agree when you say its centered on the Life of Christ, being a Christian is one who recognizes that HE IS GOD and died for everyone. And having a personal relationship with him.
True Christians believe that only one person will determine whether a person was Christian or not. Everyone else needs to mind their own business. I have worked with Mormons in the past. They are harmless.
