  • is in north india i know gypsyan ..

  • @danyel20ro

That's an oximoron, there are lots of dialects in the gypsy culture.

  • This a capella song fills me with energy, I found gypsy culture quite interesting, and their music is indeed something special, gypsy jazz and flamenco came from it, it is no coincidence. I'm Mexican 3rd generation of Spanish and French immigrants, still I feel this so close.

  • You are a Roma or gypsy, cingene, gitano, you should proude of being of it. I love gypsy music, great music mkaes my blood move faste and make me feel in love amorous.

  • ....to us this is something profound. But to them its everyday life. We are so disconnected.

  • Hola, en primer lugar gracias por dar a conocer esta estupenda película.

En segundo lugar, la escena en España no es de Andalucía, sino de Badajoz (viene en los créditos):

THE SPANISH PART IS NOT ANDALUCÍA BUT BADAJOZ

  • My parents tapped this movie off of PBS and as a three year old I would watch it every single day. I am so glad this was such an important part of my childhood; not only am I able to correct stupid stereotypes about gypies, but also I learned so much about the world at a young age. Plus, I know by heart some very interesting songs from India, Egypt, Turkey, Romania, Hungary, Germany, France, and Spain! (am I forgetting any?)

  • @ThingsWeSaidToday what song do you know from Hungary ?...and from Slovakia? :)

  • i,m gypsy from bulgaria.me sinom rom tar o bulgaria

  • When did the Romani people move from India to Spain?

Neko Case wrote John saw that number after hearing the kid singing a capella.

  • @Acexwanderer during the islamic invasion of india..the invasion displace many ppl...incliuding the romani ppl

  • this is my favorite part of this movie

  • ame rom ci avas anda india kado xoxaven le gagge..

  • Ohhh... the little ones on the donkey are so cute.

  • The song in the beginning reminds me of my childhood in the Rajasthan desert. The song is about one's mother.

It says that my mother was a sister of seven brothers (that is considered something of great fortune that a woman has seven brothers as a brother is considered a great protector in Rajasthani culture). he song goes on to say how she was married with great hopes.

  • hay i am an indian basically frm haryana but i dont' understand a word hez saying in the song? i always thought that haryanvi and rajasthani has a lot of similarities.......

  • @harsha1942 thanks for the translation!

  • I'm jew and i see the gypsies as my brothers though they're aryans and i'm semit

  • oh it would be so great if you posted more parts, please!!!!!!

HM

  • T'aven baxtale savore zhene romane!

  • nobody said YOU are indian... this just the history of origins..gypsies were a low caste of musicians belonging to the Rajasthan area of India, but that was long, long ago, even if gypsies communities sstill exists there; since then, Rom people has been spread all over the world, and are no indians anymore.

  • My family are English Romanies and their full dna profile was taken and even though we know of English, Irish and Jewish admixture in our blood - our blood was still 1/4 Indian and approx. 1/3 Eastern European. So it seems to bear out. We must have had very pure Romani blood. I'm proud of our exotic heritage personally.

  • @jessrlee88 . I am as English as bread & butter, started playing rock guitar at 11 but flamenco was creeping into my style. All things flamenco started influencing me but did'nt think too much about it thinking it was just what I like. Before mum died she told me we come from Spanish gipsys & showed me photos of my family I had never met. The women all are so beautiful & proud. Sometimes I wonder what or who is influencing me. A deep & strong influence thats for sure.

  • @pumpkin00042 they are not indian BUT THEIR ANCESTORS WHERE,.

  • @pumpkin00042

But we are Indians, because we come from North India ...

  • @ItsSnickelsBetch You should uncode your message if you want people to read it.

  • @ItsSnickelsBetch Check wikipedia about Romani people. All genetic and linguistic evidence seems to suggest to their migration from India over 1000 years ago.

Regardless, theirs is a great story of the triumph of human spirit over immense suffering & persecution.

  • @ItsSnickelsBetch

Yes u. r. right the Roma are not from India.....it is only some European theory.which is political bullish nothing more ...but did you know that this people on the video r the Huns= Scythian s????

  • @ItsSnickelsBetch

Our DNA reveals we came from India and our language comes from Sanskrit. Rom is simply Sanskrit for man. Along our journeys we have absorbed culture and blood from the many places and given back music and dance like Flamenco. In the cold sun of Europe our skin has lightened. Gypsy's in India have been changed by time but are closer to our common ancestors than we are. When I see Indian Gypsy's I see the origin of our culture and feel pride that we always sang and danced.

  • @ItsSnickelsBetch learn English you idiot, and yeah you might not look indian but you'll have a tiny bit of indian dna within you,

  • @ItsSnickelsBetch wow how can you write like that, respect.

  • The Gypsies in Europe intermarried with the locals and that's why many (if not most) of them they look more European - just like how there was intermarriage between the Middle Eastern Jews and Europeans.

  • No wonder I've met a few Spanish people that look like northern Indians. Would it be possible that their ancestors were Gypsies?

  • que porkeria es esta

    gracias

  • Me encanta, no estará la pelicula completa?

  • Kakva ubavina! Koja lepota! Que belleza! What beauty!

  • o cam on day r indians n we r groom n u know n i know indians r guyjos n we go back 2 bc not in india

  • i Love It

  • these are the indian-gypsies or roma indaian

  • gypsies come from india origninally! so its the story of our origins how it all started.

  • bull

  • no its proven through the romany language, the same language only found in modern north india! also geneticall romany people are indian decent, they left india about a thousand yrs ago!

  • Unforgettable.
