@extrememetal100 It's in Bb major, but that's not what gives it the gothic sound. It goes out of key a lot, uses octaves, and does a lot of chromatics (half steps) A-Ab-A-Ab, etc...that's what gives it the dark sound.

I appreciate that style of playing, but unforetunately for Wicked Child I feel it doesn't quite fit....This piece was originally written to give the player a feeling of fright, and hopelessness. Using a Jazz style of improv to me takes away the magic that made this BGM for me. I can still remember the first time I heard the chorus break during the game, and getting the chills instantly.
I guess I have a special place for the castlevania music in my heart, sorry to get serious.

i am not a professional pianist by any means (yet), however i have noticed in other videos how the people who comment glorify players who lack tempo or a sense of rhythm, and all of that just because the tune they're playing is a familiar one.
This one, though, i have to defend in some way, for although there were many mistakes, the guy did an excellent job making it sound consistent.
I play both classic, and Baroque period music, However it's always nice to hear something familiar (that you grew up with). Playing dead composers' music is great, but music that is nostalgic is much more gratifying to perform.

I heard this song for the first time maybe 30 minutes ago.
I love the melodies in it. Some of them affect me emotionally. Especially the part starting at 0:35, and also the part that starts at 0:45.
