Our poverty rate, which is among the highest in the developed world, has increased each year for the last five years. It was 12.6% in 2005 expected to top13% this year. The homeless in major cities is growing rapidly 3.5 million at last count. The rich are doing OK while the middle class is treading water. The real estate market is not helping. And don't forget to include inflation in the stock market. Oh yea, and most folks earn less than $30,000 per year.
Americans "who want to work" In other words, who's unemployment insurance has run out. And the home ownership, thats bs. People bought on credit to try and flip homes (25% ofthe market was home flippers). Foreclosures are record and the housing bubble has burst. If not for the Bushes anti bankcruptcy laws you would see the most filings in history.
