Judge Millian did a great job on that case, im very happy to see the plaintiff won like he should have but at the same time they resolved the issue and the girl can go back to her normal routine as previously planned.
I think it's always a good idea to encourage our children to eat healthy and exercise..however, to encourage or emphasis that they need to lose weight and make it like an obsession, can lead to worse problems down the road. Stay Healthy, but by the same token, love who you are, the way you are..
Bloody hell, what a crap example those two are setting for the 12 year old. 'We're too dumb to sort this out, we'll take it to a judge who can tell us how stupid we are'.
"Look at your mom so you know she's not lying to you" That is seriously unfair. Judge Milian knows damn well that parents can perfectly well take it out on their children later. The poor girl doesn't know which way will leave her with less punishment. "Bad blood" does not cover it, my bro.
i couldn't let a personal trainer into my house or anywhere NEAR ME if i lost a court case against them.i mean who wants goto jail for cracking a weight over some guys bald head, cuz i thought ( or i made up) he touched my daughter.................. -_-
Refreshing to see a "civil" court case ... where both the plaintiff and defendant didn't act like a bunch of idiots ... No yelling and screaming ... No interrupting each other AND the judge ... No mud slinging ... Notice also, because the plaintiff and the defendant behave with class that Judge Millian didn't have to treat them like street trash ... LOL!
@globe255 Gone are the days when youth equalled normal weight and good health. Basically if the girl is not healthy at a time in her life when its supposed to be a given, she desperately needs to do something about it now for a better future.
He should have knocked on the door or a phone call (don't most people have cells?). Either way, Judge said, "what if she just dropped her daughter off..."
As a man, there is no way I would train a young girl who was dropped off! That's asking for trouble.
I like cases like this. Everyone's professional and the decision is reasonable. And it didn't seem like the mom was forcing her daughter into the training, I think she really wanted it and that's okay. She's a mature girl and I think it's great she wants to make this decision for her health early.
@lorenzo2581 Quite agree. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that child, and no 12-year-old should be worried about her looks. My guess is that someone at school is likely giving her a hard time (I had sisters, so I know girls that age are a bunch of thugs). But she's already got a look that suits her, and enough poise for a consular post, so she'll do fine.
What a nice bunch of people. Up-standing, honest and fair citizens instead of some of the usual dregs of society! hehehe. Nice episode. Refreshing to see a simple dispute put right :-)
Best episode so far! It's nice to see court cases when the plantiff and defendent come together for a common cause:- in this case, the best for the defendent's daughter.
Aren't they going to feel a little weird about seeing eachother from now on? I mean they took eachother to court!!! ... I don't even understand why the woman just didn't agree to pay him before the court, it's not like she had a defence at all, so why bother come to the court? to appear on TV I guess?
she's twelve , 12 yrs old....I think that is weird to have a physical trainer....she looks perfectly fine and beautiful...exercise is great but not to be obsessed over...um, to this point...wow ...in my opinion
I disagree with the her not being there day. What pareant would want a grown man alone with her daughter? I think he did the right thing by not going in.
loved this case...love when judge m shows the human side of her....a caring loving person, woman and most of all mother......she's beautiful inside and out
wow Judge Milian seemed rather nice in this case. I think it's cause noone was really lieing? Besides when the mother said the contract was different.
What really gets judge judy/milian pissed is when ppl lie!
@whatupchico I think he meant that the mother may come across as a bit chilly after this day in court, which would make future sessions a bit awkward.
@cuttock yes i agree with u, he (the trainer) seems to be so well centered, and his mind is fast, crisp, accurate and right down to the point. Its amazing to see a mind working so well in a world where its easy to find unbalanced crazy people, me included. He sure is a living example that exercise is good for body and mind.
I agree w/ Loriann's comment- He SHOULD have rung the doorbell, but if the child was home alone and no adult was around, I can't blame him for not going forward with the session. Personally, I don't feel that the 12 year old was overweight. And if her weight was a concern, then sports, exercise, ETC. I think would have been a better choice. but to each their own.
I cant believe the horrible way peer pressure of others can make kids feel so self conscious and bad about themselves. Shes a beautiful girl and her mother is caring and lovely. Its sad it has come to a court coz the trainer seems cool too.
I think this was a very fair way to deal with it. It's best to have a trained professional who will give good advice deal with this young lady than for her to get advice from random places online. The mother is simply looking out for the best interest of her child.
nice case - both class litigants - and leaving up to the daughter was the right thing to do . . .wish we could see more class acts like the plaintiff and defendant.
The mom seems genially concerned about the daughters health & weight which usually goes hand & hand with self esteem problems. So why is she allowing her daughter to go around looking like the girl on the Ugly Betty show. She has same haircut, same ugly glasses and the same dress style. She almost looks like ugly Betty. Im sure thats not helping her.
Wow, this was a great case. I am glad it was handled in such a civil way. Both the defendant and plaintiff wanting to leave it up to the daughter to decide if she wanted to continue was awesome. I love how she gave 2 options as to how to proceed and was very encouraging that both sides get as much benefit out of the situation as possible. I hope the daughter continues to look as healthy as she did on TV and grows up to be a wonderful and responsible young lady.
I can't stand Harvey Levin, and his big yap. He's asking the crowd what they think about this young girl training and he cuts off someone giving an opinion in order to give his. The guys a twit and probably earns the big bucks to stand out there flapping his mouth
