One more thing ! Ace freaking played the same freaking guitar solo since the destroyer tour ! Talk about lame ! But then again most of the 15 min guitar solos of the 70s and 80s were dead ass BORING ! LOL
These guys made more money than any r&r band and ace was broke a few short years after this concert ! You are talking 100 + million this is back in the 70`s ! Fucking hilarious !
Ace was a clever rock song writer : catchy hooks, nice twists here and there and solos which were an intricate part of the song. He's not a 'pure soloist' like Eddie VH or Steve Vai. This ending solo is so spinal tap 70ies...I saw him doing that live and it didn't come off then...it still doesn't...If you wanna hear really good 'solos', listen to Frank Zappa. But Frehley 's songs kick ass!
@jimydiamond2012 yeah but is that saying much?.,,,,,,lol, a sudio can do wonders for a voice can't it, they sound better singing wise, recorded..But I agree Gene can't sing either...peace!
yeah, he's not the best singer, but i still like his voice. he's not good at singing in concert because thats not what he's meant to do, but in studio, i like his voice.
I still don't think he can sing but he has been an influence on many a guitarist. and singing isn't for everybody, listen to Gene,he can't sing either lol but KIss is still great no matter what!
ace really isn't meant to be a singer...he's a guitarist..hence the announcement by paul saying we've got a little surprise for you tonight , we're gonna turn the mic over to ace frehley..shock me !!this was the first tour ace sings a lead in a song..the only guy who can sing live are paul and peter...gene can't sing either ,, mind you , he's a better vocalist than ace !!who cares though ?..its all rock n roll..it's not supposed to be perfect ..it wouldn't be rock if it was !!
Ace Frehley the best guitarist in the world 'n' i love him so much 'n' am only 13 i wish i wos around in the 70's to see KISS the 4 origenal members love this song it's got the best guitar solo in the world.x.x.x
He's kicken isn't he girlfriend. I did catch him with Kiss in 76 at the Baltimore Civic center . 2nd row center seats. My sister made me up like Paul and I'm not Kidding I saw only one other person in that entire arena made up and it was a girl made up like ACE. A night I'll never forget and yeah like them I'm 33 years older and still an ACE fan. I do catch him on the east coast now and again in his solo carear in small places...Rock on Kiddo
@PeterCRissKISSgod Ace was a cool looking guitar player.. a great fucking person... funny as hell and the life of the party... but he was certainly not anywhere in the same universe as the great guitar players of ANY decade. On Destroyer, a great deal of his solos were recorded over by session players. I am certain that never happened to guys like Ed Van Halen, Dave Gilmour, Richie Blackmore, etc... .I loved him when I was a kid, and still think he's cool... just not a virtuoso on any level
@stratman123 And my point was that none of the guys I mentioned had their guitar solos redone by session guys. Its like Ringo claiming to be the greatest drummer. If he was so damn good, why did they rerecord his parts. I'm certain that never happened to Bonham.
@MegaBarger jeezus i must have gone dyslexic - i clean missed his last name in ur comment. Anyway - yeah Page was probably the best of them all - certainly the most prolific - apparently he played on 50% of all albums released in the UK in the 70s - either his own work or as a guest or session muso - incredible output.
@BiggerThinking1 ha thats alright and i didnt know that about jimmy page, he is incredible. i also think hendrix is overrated, teenagers of the modern days is what caused that. but he was a great musician, but it does get annoying to listen to him after awhile.
Oh man, Paul's makeup is running in this video, I can see the star on his face is fading and running, lol.
On a different note, I think Ace is really a colourful character, he's got a very good personality on TV and I think that's what makes him really attractive, he's witty and funny in most of the interviews of his I've seen.
I saw Ace and his band on Friday 2/22/08 in Atlanta. He`s back!! He had a great show even with a couple of Guitar problems. He more than made up with his 2 hour set. That featured everything from "Rip It Out" to "Cold Gin". The drummer sounds amazingly like Paul Stanley. So the Kiss numbers, sound great. Over all, it was a great concert. Ace is a true rock icon, a legend, and i was less than 20 feet from him. Check out his opening band, "The Trews".
Ace is the best. If for no other reason that he really knows how to piss off Gene Simmons. While I think Kiss is awesome, Gene was/is a little too full of himself. So it was always good to have Ace around to mess with him. If you want proof of this watch the interview of Kiss on Tomorrow w/ Tom Snyder. Classic Ace.
lol yeah i saw that before. ace is fucked up, talking too much and gene looks like he can hardly contain his anger. what a dick. kiss isn't cool without ace!
The most hardcore KISS songs i know are 100,000 Years,Black Diamond,Cold Gin,Rock N' Roll All Nite,Let me go Rock N' Roll,Detroit Rock City,King of the Nightime World,Take me,Flamming Youth,Sweet Pain,Thrills in the Night,Lick it up,I Love it Loud,I Walk Alone,Psycho Circus and a couple more...
