  • @Disaveli Cheers and you too with the army :)

  • @Disaveli Nah, I'm going to go to college and uni. Then join the marines as an officer. It was just for my work experiance I went down to the Royal armoured divison in bovington and they put us through as close to phase one as they could. Shamefuly it was only a 5 day residential course but damn it was good!

  • @Disaveli Nice one! On my work experiance, i got 10:27. I was 15 ;)

  • @Disaveli good luck :)

  • British Army - We take everybody!

  • lol,.. On a exercise with T.A, I'm a regular in the infantry,... Under our poncho was me and 2 T.A,.. the snow was falling hard over brecon, it was freezing. I'm all right,.. I've done this shit hundreds of time, how ever the two guys next to me,.. in BRIGHT ORANGE SLEEPING BAGS! with BRIGHT BLUE SOFT HATS decide to go on stag with their florecent yellow softie poking out from underneath their smock.

    T.A - be the best.

  • @inimicalrize lol but i doubt the ta taught them to wear shit like that, whats a softie?

  • i can join when i'm 17 cant wait!

  • @MrSketchySam same :) pm me if you wanna chat or anything random xD

  • STABS!!!! Your worse than cadets

  • how hard is it to get into the TA?....i really want to join

  • @AbstractAlpha Piss easy,I was a recruit in the RMR for about a year and I was two weeks from finishing training but due to an injury I couldnt finish the Commando Course.I had the option to wait a year and rejoin the RMR or start at the TA and do the All Arms after phase 1.I got to the TA centre and fitness was through the floor, their selection is very easy; 15 min for a 1.5 mile run and a few press ups. Im 17 and I could walk it, but I recommend the RMR or 4 PARA if you want a real challenge

  • @InnocentExile666 what for regular or territorial army??

  • Fat stupid American here

Why does they TA have a different broken up basic (phase one and two)? Why not just send the applicants to the same basic and trade school as the “normal army” and send the TA soldiers back to their unit to drill when they are complete.

  • @badgerattoadhall I think its the same for the regular army and the TA, in that everyone has to do phase one training, and then phase two training is specialist training (different depending on what your role in the army is). If you choose to be in the infantry, I think you are sent to the regular army training place for phase 2. Thats as far as I can tell anyway.

  • @stackary the video made it sound like phase 1 was broken up over a couple of week training ex and some weekend and week night training

  • @badgerattoadhall Oh well thats because of the nature of the TA. People join the TA if they want to be in the army as a sideline career, so they can carry on their civillian career during the week. Sorry I assumed you knew that.

  • Let me clarify,, you only see the dead in the news, there are company sized casualty rates in the Infantry every tour, to those who don't know that's around 150 blokes with serious life changing injuries (by that they mean amputees, blind, deaf, brain damage, badly burned, loss of genitalia) for the ammount of infantry acually on the ground, that's a huge number, having said that, you can always hold your head up high knowing you did your bit, I do.But is it worth it to you, really THINK it over

  • Il be joining the TA Royal Irish Rangers in less than a mouth i cant wait to join i hope i pass the basics

can anyone give me advise PLZ

  • Is that the Royal Anglian "Midden Flash" @ 1:38?

  • Comment removed

  • I wouldn't bother joining the TA though, I came home from herrick 10 having seen men dying in agony for that shithole country, and lost half my hearing and tinitus, no compensation, then told not to turn up for six months because the training budget was cut, is it worth losing your legs for? I would only ever go to war again if it was a national emergency, fuck 'em, look after yourself because no one else will.

  • @MrFooknuts If you'd have worn your issued ear plugs your hearing wouldn't have suffered, that's why you didn't get any compensation isn't it you idle retard.

  • @MrFooknuts

What regiment were u in? U left now? Im thinking of going infantry my postcode puts me rifles reg but im just waiting to hear from a few jobs now like. I want the country to change they should put more money into the army n that we are losing our once great reputation cos they want to fight a real war on peanuts. The money they have saved over the years from military cuts has been wasted elsewhere on foreign fiddling cunts. Not that we havent got loads of brits fiddling the system!

  • @DodgyIdeot My advice is to think very very carefully for what you're doing it for, when I made that post I had a bit of a sad on because of the ringing in my ears, I shouldn't have wrote it because the Army is a proud proffesion that can build a lot of charactor, but is that worth losing your legs for? beleive me when I say it happens more often than you think, when you actually get out there and see people get their legs blown off, arms, the dicks even it really brings it home.

  • 1.5 mile time is 10:30 for infantry, but everyone should be getting at least 10:30 anyway, it's not hard.

  • I was in the regs for a short period of time but always regretted leavin, I have selection in october so luckily I can prep my fitness upto entry standard by that time. You will be fine ben you'll meet lads in the same boat who are like minded and others who are far un fitter and different.. regardless you should have a laugh there isnt a massive ammount of pressure on you they just want to see effort and determination make sure you shout on the command tasks and encourage your peers. Happy Days

  • aww man i have selection next week!!!!

  • Anyone know what the 2.4km / 1.5 mile run time is for the TA?

  • @shaunliquid 10.30 same as all army, women will be 13.00 though

  • @shaunliquid at my TA center they told me i gotta do it in no more that 14mins, im a guy btw, so it might be more for girls. got my ta selection tonight! :D

  • @udghkimnbvc Hi thanks for that, how old are you if you dont mind me asking and is that for infantry?

  • @shaunliquid Im 19, and it was for both infantry and REME. My local TA centre is 133 Workshop Company & 103 REME Batallion. Like i said we had to run 1.5miles in 14mins, that was for everyone. The 1.5mile course had a large hill tho, the staff there called it the breaker, it was hell to run up, as we had to round round the couse twice since that = 1.5miles. Was not fun, the rest of the weekend was amazing though :)

  • @udghkimnbvc good stuff thanks and good luck :D

  • 2:16 ooooooo so hard lol

  • y do they advetise it with women it puts me off big time lol

  • Im 31yrs old living in Bangor NI, I am looking to join the TA, but need to get my fitness level increased. Can anyone give me tips to the level i need to be at and is there anyone near me, thinking the same thing who wishes to train together?

  • @highlandlad360 Type in on youtube "P90X workout" Follow that for about 2 months plus do some weights and you'll get there.

  • how long does it take to become a full territorial army soldier

  • @cafcwebbluke ages mate. I past selection in April and Ive only just got dates for my oath and what not

  • @smellybrad1985 how long ago did you join up

  • @cafcwebbluke I started all the paper work back in february obv handed it in they sent it off. few weeks later got the nod for selection then did that and passed. I then got a date in may to do my oath but a few hours before I was going to take it I got a call sayin ther was an issue with my medical. sorted that out and now my date is in september.

  • @smellybrad1985 have you been anywhere abroad yet

  • @cafcwebbluke no Ive still got basic training to do. You are thinking of joining?

  • @smellybrad1985 yh i have been to my local territorial army centre and they have gave me all my application form etc

  • @cafcwebbluke nice one good luck

  • i wanna join but how fit do u gonna be to be allowed in

  • @ruby123451 well if you think u can pass selection which the main test is the 1.5mile run which you must complete in 14mins , 13mins for soldiers you should be fine aslong as u keep fit

  • @ruby123451 you will also have to do a 0.5 mile warm up before the 1.5 mile run so be sure to be doing 2-3 mile runs atleast 2-3 times a week

  • how fit do you actually have to be to do this?

  • Hi can anyone tell me what age you have to be to join the TA infantry because I'm hoping to join while Im in 6th form in Uni and then after Uni join the RM

  • @ElliottJohnPugh i think you can join at the age of 16 so if your in 6th form you will be allowed, btw RM is hardddddd, my mates in and from what he tells me you have to be so physically and mentally fit, if you have any doubts you wont get in but good luck to you

  • @LiaMxMuFc Yeah, its alot harder to get accsepted to basic training aswel, its an achievment to get there. and basic training for RMC is 32 weeks long appose to army army 14 weeks., i start RM Basic in just over 3 weeks

  • @Jamietran123 yeah i plan on trying in about 3 months i just want to do a bit more training. Good luck :)

  • @Jamietran123 yeah i plan on trying in about 3 months i just want to do a bit more training. Good luck :)

  • @ElliottJohnPugh Yeah im doing an Open University Course next year following along with the T.A. Signals. I think it's standardly 16.

  • the difference is the army regular are full time serving soldier, the ta are civi's thats dedicate there spare time on being a soldier, thesonnyxx

  • I'm joining on Tuesday, I can't wait!

  • hello im 39 is that to old to join the ta

  • @richieaf Well depends on wt u wanna b ??? wt GCSE'S u gt ?? or qualifications ?

  • @richieaf -No, as long as you are fit enough they will take you

  • Rather Be In The Royal Marines!!

  • @larylilshit1 They didnt even get back to me when I applied!

  • @Uncivilization That a lil odd ?? wat dd u apply 2 b ? wt GCSE'S do or did u hav ??

  • @TheSonnyxx I applied to the Royal Marines and they never got back to me at all. lol

  • i want to join but i dont think i will be able to do it due to not being physicily fit >.> so im gna trian abit before i join

  • Thats the reason i've not joined yet, i dont think i could pass due to physical fitness!! I think tha T.A is the best way into the army

  • @M18mandem agreed im going to T.A for a bit then maybe join the army :)

  • @spedzfx666 Whats the diffrence ? btween ta n army ?

  • @M18mandem Yes but you can get fit way before you go in the army with or without these bad boys. Although this is probably a good option, I wanna go n but I have to wait for medication to clear... although I haven't had problems with my asthma in like 5 years.. I am physically fit though, aslong as you can run 1.5 miles during dsoldier selection you will be fine..

  • What's the selection criteria? It's something like a 1.5 mile run in under 12.5 minutes isn't it?

If you're in reasonable shape you could easily crack that in a month if you get on the treadmill 3 times a week (though running outdoors is much better). Do a minute walk, 30 seconds run, then as you get fitter just decrease the time spent walking until you can run the whole thing. Do weight and cardio training on different days.

    Good luck anyway.

  • @Neoptolemus321 thanks and thats what ive been doing i seem to be able to do it so ive just sent my app of :)

  • Good luck, keep up with the training even after you've passed selection and keep pushing hard. The more you work now, the easier it will be once you go in, and the better your chances. You can never be too fit!

  • @spedzfx666 Same here -- myt b in RAF

  • 2:15 its now a 6 miler in 90 mins

  • I am in 7th rifles TA. the TA make up of 40% of the british army. it is possible to do all your trianing in 6 months and get sent to af'stan at the end of it

  • 72 Engr Regt

    106 Fd Sqn (v) here.

The TA is an awesome thing to get into. The friends you make are for life. The skills are taught by ex-regs and current serving PSAO's and DS the like. All very good people with the same aim....to get the TA soldiers to learn the skills needed to survive in a hostile environment or just to take back to civvy street. I would strongly advise anyone thinking of joining the regular army to try the TA first.

  • Come on the "Stabs".

  • looks mint am hopefully joining soon cant wait

  • Comment removed

  • haha you get interviewed by steven fry

    classic

  • would u say the TA is a bit like the cadets, only more extreme?

    still deciding, TA or Regular...

  • well im going into the TA iv got my selection this weekend . the army is full time the ta is part time and u have another job .

  • TA = Reserves, Just like Regulars but you don't do it full time.

  • yeah its like the cadets only you get paid, have to put in more time, get a trade out of it, go to war a possibly die

Infact, its nothing like the cadets after all is it?

  • I am in 7th rifles TA. the TA make up of 40% of the british army. it is possible to do all your trianing in 6 months and get sent to af'stan at the end of it. it nothing like cadets. i have had good m8s killed out there

  • I really enjoyed my time doing this, wish I could have it back old fart now hahaha.

  • lol, 2 recuits say the same thing "Everybody has been friendly and helpful" STAGED, Then some guy says "The army opens allot of job opportunies" lol, like what? When i got out they weren't looking for infantrymen on civy street, then he says "employers are looking for ex soldiers" lol, all my employers tended to be more interested in the degree i have, lol, sorry campers but i got nothing out the army but a ton of grief.

  • i knew someone who joined an infantry ta regiment then was trained as a medic and that helped him get a job in the ambulence service. You can learn loads, from that, being a chef, REME obviously teaches you a lot and it looks good on your cv as well because not everyone has a degree. Im studying for a degree atm and plan to join because its something ive always wanted to do but dont wana give up persuing my career. But hey its not for everyone tho i spose?

  • Good vid very simular to the TA here in New Zealand except all our TA soldiers do a 7 week basic training course at WTD in the central north island TA officers do a 12 week course and like the UK TA soldiers deploy overseas I spent a year in the TA b4 I went RA 20 years ago lol

  • this is a waiste of money because u guys could just combibine all of this into the regular army and then do wekends a month 2 weeks a year in the us its called the national gaurd

  • but the territorial soilders in the UK are part of the British army, and do alot more than 2 weeks a year, alot will find them self on 6 month deployments etc etc

and alot are armed and in training 2 times a months, its very differant from the national garud

  • Why dont they send the TA recruits to the active armys initial training courses?

  • What is the minimun age to join the t.a? im 16 and want to join.

  • the minimun age to join is 17 and a half

  • is it fuck i joined when i was 16

  • you can jone at 17 and 1/2 years of age and its not a 4 miler march in full kit at end its 6 mials i full kit and think its just on up to 8 mials lol

  • 17, im hoping 2 join sometime next year :) good luck

  • go ahead wont get deployed till your 18 though

  • 17 , 9 Months

  • i joined regular when i was 16 so why would ta wait till your 17

  • hi, does anyone know the min fitness level to join the ta

  • What do you think the minimum fitness level? Your probably a fat bastard with that kind of question so i think you know the answer already right?

  • I think your a fucking prick i would crucify you, you are probably a terrorist and a cunt

  • Don't be stupid.. my previous comment is the truth and you know it

  • hi guys i have a question about the TA To jion the TA as a muscian do you have to be able to read music or can you go in by ear thank you and have a nice day.

  • In the Ta's, do u learn the same skills as regulars?

  • What is Infantry and Non infrantary. Looks very interesting, i am considering joining, what a great experience.

  • If somebody joined the TA army, does that mean they R in the British armed forces? Could they then boast they served there country?

Is a tour of duty compulsory, if so, do u go front line along with other army personal?

  • Yes it does mean they are in the British Armed forces. The TA and regular army work alongside each other, So yes the TA our in the army, they just don't do it all the time, they only do it certain amounts of weeks/months per year

  • rrrrr, rite. thankz 01hreshy

  • TA is kinda like part time, and u choose after training u choose whether to put ur name down for operations but in the regular army as soon as u turn 18 u can be sent anywhere in the world on an operation and u dont hav a choice, but thats y u join the army in the first place to serve ur country and go on operations

  • yeh, i mean i wud love 2 do operations and tha, the TA looks good

  • do you know because you mainly do TA excercises at weekends, does this mean that you dont have to cut your hair?

  • yes you do have to have it short, no.3 is the max i think

  • in the army you do not always need to have short hair.

  • im pretty sure all males have to have short hair.

  • it depends, not at all times, such as on tour a soldier is not expected to maintain short hair at all times. some even have beards.

  • do a lot of people sign up for the British army ?

  • not enough..i hear they really need more people.

what i dont understand is why not? especially during the financial crisis, you can be sure not to be fired^^

  • actually not to long ago, the armed forces said that they are going to have to make some reductions in soldier numbers, the greatest military cut since the Crimiea war.

  • MORE reductions?

do you know what Health and Safety and the EU cost the UK? you could finance an army 3 times as large as todays with that sort of cash..

  • im pretty sure the army are close to full capacity now, i was told in an interview how they are now trying to slow the number of recruits :)

  • is the minimum 3 years?

  • can u join at 16?

  • minimum age of 17 to join.

i would recommend waiting afew years till joining, though

  • ive been told that 16 is minimum age to join.

    im 16 now.

  • it depends on the regiment..if you join at 16 you can do things like vehicle mechanics at the army foundation college in harrogate...go to the army website you'll find what you need to know

  • not ta's

  • I am 17 and i am in the TA , But you need to be 17 and a half to do your selection, Hope this helps mate (Y)

  • you're welcome

  • how many fays overall does it take to complete the course?

  • course college students can join the TA after all its part time not regular and you only have to do a minimum 28 days a year and don't have to do tours whilst in education. Thats what my army careers advisor told me anyway

  • okay cheers, finally a straight answer, ive been looking around and ive been getting people telling yes, no and depends on what courses i do :S thanks for a clear answer.

  • yeah i joined the ta while i was in college, and now im joining the royal marines (Y)

its good fun and relativly easy, you meet some awsome people.

  • Hey im 17 and in college, and ive been looking around to see whether its possible for college students to join a TA unit but I've been getting a mixed set of answers. I dunno if anyone has any experience with this, or knows the answer to my problems, any information would be great.

  • hi, im in college and in the TA, 7 battallion the rifles- there are a few other college students allthough the majority of TA are in their 20-30,s. at 17 you will need your parents permission to join- generally its 2hrs on a week night, then when youv been attessted and passes selection its 1 weekend a month- but deffonatley go 4 it, its a great experience.

  • hey, thanks for the information, greatly appreciated. A few questions, how was the training? and did you have to take time off college to complete the 2 week course?

  • they train you in various skills, weapon handling which one of the 1st things they will teach you, then there is the combat training, map reading drill etc- as much of the training is given in a short amount of time, your expected to learn some of the skills outside the TA- overall traing was good and you learn a by doing it-

  • some parts are boring as crap n ovas are brilliant- the 2 week course at catterik is flexible, they go roughly every month- i managed to use my 1/2 term as 1 week and college allowed me the rest of teh time off
