L-cancel, stand for "lag" canceling, cuts the lag of an aerial in half and can make some attacks link that usually wouldnt.

I'm pretty sure the L just stands for the button people push to do it. Sure lag starts with L, but I don't think that's why it's L-canceling. An example would be smash 64, where there was Z-canceling.

Pichu does suck....... but Chu is so good and has so much experience that he can play the 2nd worst character int he game (statistically) and beat other pros. To win with low tiers simply takes an ability to outplay your opponent, and Chu is doing just that.

I always thought pikachu > Pichu, but started playing them both. They're both incredibly capable characters. I actually wouldn't say one's superior; Pikachu is stronger with normal attacks, Pichu's stronger with lightning attacks. However, I can do the sleeping taunt with Pichu.

According to the teir list, pichu is the worst in the game. Pikachu is also down there somewhere but nowhere near as low as pichu. Basically, pichu is rediculously light so dies quickly, yet he does damage to himself, making him die even quicker. Also, the range of his moves is pretty poor, but he generally gives good damage and knockback on some of his moves.  I prefer pichu to pika, hes just less popular i guess

Actually the only reason Pichu is so low is because he dmgs himself through most of his powerful attacks.

He's the second quickest character other than Fox.

Some of you just don't know what you're talking about. Don't try to make johns for why Chu won. He's just on a different level than Plairnkk. Plairnkk is still really good (he wrote a great Sheik guide too), but Chu is one of the best. People at his level often sandbag their character selection at such minor tournaments. Once Chu played in a team tournament with a lv. 9 cpu as his partner.

First of all, i don't see that much DI failure here. Plairnkk seems to DI out of throws very well. i think the DI failures you are seeing are again the result of not knowing how to play pichu. for ex the combo around 1:50, the follow up down-B could have been avoided by DI, but against most chars, you are safe at that point and should just DI to stay on the stage. Plairnkk did not expect that follow up, which is probobly what Chu was going for by playing his alt.

great video these 2 players r good, on a skill bases id say chu is better, its hard being pichu cuz all his electric moves hurt him so the key 2 bein him is 2 not do any electric moves unless neessary so that shows chu is kind of limited with the moves he uses

Um... Chu CONSTANTLY performs his electric moves. They hurt him, yea, but the damage is negligible, even if it does match up. If sacrificing % means taking control of the match, I'd do that too.

Wait, guys, does anyone of you know what he/she is talking about? The only reason Chudat won here was because Plairnkk didn't DI correctly. Actually, there was hardly any DI-ing at all. However, Plairnkk normally has no problem DI-ing and would win this match-up when playing like in some of the other vids around here. Normally, Sheik rapes Pichu, DI-ing is just erm, crucial at this level.

yeah parrot you are completely wrong about that, many characters have very obvious advantages in the game. Its possible to argue that point the closer the characters are on the list (like you could say a matchup between peach and fox between equally skilled players would be fairly equal even though fox is top tier and peach is like 5th). Chudat is like one of the top 6 in the nation so yeah....

People who deny tier lists obviously have no idea what they are talking about -_-. Tier lists are specifically meant to determine full potential of a character. Chu would never goto MLG (which took out SSBM :() choosing Pichu against Ken or Azen in a competitive large money determining tourney. Why? Because in the end, Pichu stands no chance against high tier characters of the same skill level and mindgames. But that's beside counterpicked combos :)

Upper middle tier. Likely because Nana is AI-controlled and therefore fairly easy to kill, and Popo is significantly weakeded without her.

And yes, I've seen Chu pull near-impossible saves for his Nana, as well astake up to two stocks with an isolated Popo. But it's still very difficult to do.
