I love the Ions but I hate how there is no track to keep the foot pedal in place and when you play song with a lot of foot pedal in it the thing slides around on the floor and you have to play with your leg fully extended.

I hope you know that the ions can be used as a real electric drum kit, you just have to buy the drum brain. So if you were also a drummer in real life and were in need of a kit you could just buy the ion with drum brain and your set.

um, number 1 if you're just gonna use it for rock band, buy the core set which is just 200. i've already spent 400 dollars going through regular stock kits. one of them even split right through the middle. I only paid half that for ions

I have IONs too.

After I had them in 2 months, both my cymbal clamps broke, after another month 3 of 4 drum clamps brake.

Then my red pad become loose and its broken to.

A week after that my green AND yellow pad didn't pick up notes.

IONs SUCK!

I got all things replaced tho but i bought metal clamps for every drum, and now i have ordered the Rock Pedal

ION is the best peripheral for Rock band or rock band 2.. its just completely brilliant.. the rebbound is great.. the pedal is clanky but very strong and lose which helps on songs like painkiller and panic attack. you can hit as hard as you can.. its just like a real electronic drum kit. Im so happy i just passed panic attack on expert drums for the first time 2 days ago.. i could have never done it with my stock set

I've had the ions since January, and they're the best 300$ investment I've done.

But, don't use really thin-tipped sticks that are made of wood, they can actually WEAR out the rubber and make it less bouncy.

That happened to the red pad on mine, so I just switched it with the green one and everything is normal.

My cymbal clamp and green pad clamp broke because I tightened it too hard so I used the clamp for my other cymbal and used the pole to put my pad onto and now it looks weird because the pole is sticking out for my green pad. lol

I have the ion kit and in my opinion, its alot easier to do rolls, the cymbals don't break like the GH:WT set and its alot more comfortable but as a drum kit, its not that great, get an acoustic set, acoustics are better than electric kits anyways but yeah good quality drum set

Yes the Rock Band Ion kit is a real electronic set too, IF you buy the module. The module they recommend is the Alesis DM5, which goes for 350 bucks. 350+300 = 600 if you didnt put that all together. for that cash you could buy a MUCH higher quality kit. The Ion Drum Rocker is not a good electronic set, but a great rock band set. I would in no way recommend this set if you want it moreso because it's a real set. If your a hardcore Rock Band drumemr and want it for THAT reason, buy away.

no you dont need an adapter cause i have the bass pedal that comes with the ion (ebay i had to replace my stock rb1 pedal) and there both headphone jacks (the part you stick into the drum set)
