I have to admit that this is very well executed. What I really enjoyed about the relationship between the Joker and Batman in the Dark Knight was the things that the viewer couldn't see. They're more alike than Batman would like to admit. They both have scars and they both have dealt with their pain in an unusual way. While the Joker's scars are physical and Batman's is emotional, both have very obvious mental scars that have affected what they've become. Perhaps they are like brothers that way.
