Hey Huntersvermin, I've always wondered how you got shots like of you walking around and stalking and such. Do you set up the camera, record, walk back, and then walk back again to get the shot?
@pharoah246 No the rabbit would be long gone by then, I actually have the camera mounted to the top of my scope for the shot the rest is filmed off of a tripod.
could really do with some help i dont know nothing about air rifles i have tryed to read up on them just really carnt seem to understand i am a yung lad and i really want to go hunting but have only got 100 to 150 quid to spare on a rifle and livin in england the legal limits 12ft/lb would that even kill a rabbit i dont know and if so what would be the best gun to get for that price range and dont worry if i get meself a gun i will practice befor i go out shooting anything please reply good vids
@griffin1995123 You could try the likes of a BSA Meteor or HW97 and yes 12ft/lb's would easily kill a rabbit at 30-40 yards or more, try to get a scope in the range of 3-9x40 magnification as you won't really need much more than that for the ranges that you will be shooting at. Hope this helps kick start your ideas ;)
Hey you are the shooter that i have ever seen keep on making them. I wish i was as good a hunter as you but as soon as i pull the gun upto my shoulder the rabbits run off
I heard this tale of a bunny who went to bar and ordered a cheese & ham toasty, then he ordered a cheese and tomato toasty and dropped dead and thats what rabbits get when they mix their toasties ;o)
@Oliver200101 My MFR is putting out about 832fps with a 21grain .22cal pellet but i usually prefer to go for the side of the head as it is a flatter surface for the pellet to hit, plus shooting here you can get away with an air gun of 12ft/lb 560fps in .22cal for a clean kill.
@HuntersVermin ok i was curious because my grandma used to feed our rabbit dogs the rabbit brains if they werent in too badof shape and i had one of my better dogs die from one of the diseases that rabbit had
I am fascinated by your videos and haved learned a lot from watching them. I don't know if you've already explained your camera setup in a previous post, but I'd like to hear what the setup is. If you've already given this information, could you point me in the right direction?
@mickp2268 I've sort of held off from making a vid on my cammera set up but its simply a JVC 330 camcorder with a 30gb hard drive memory that i mount to the top of my scope with a home made mount but you can buy mounts for bicycle handle bars that will do.
Hi great movie. I have a question, the zeroing of the scope is so that you have the center of the scope on the kill zone, right? How do you now if the distance you are shooting is the distance that the scope is set for, and how do you compensate if the target is closer or farther away?
Can you make a movie about that please?
I just bought a Spring air gun, "Diana Mod.34 B" I havent even zeroed the scope but i cant stop wathing your movies. :D
@JustWantNAccount Well most airguners zero their sights for about 30-35 yards, below that range the pellet will hit higher and beyond it the pellet will hit lower, but you have to shoot at paper targets at different ranges to find out how much on your gun. I use a lazer rangefinder to help judge long range shoots but with practice you can learn to judge shorter ranges out to 35-40 yards by eye.
I noticed a fourth bunny running in the woods behind your 3rd rabbit just before you shot. You perhaps did not see him :) Since you said you do your own camera work, I finally figured out how you do it. Very ingenious ;)
great vid as always ,, just want to ask you what do you shoot 177 or 22, and which do you think is best 177 for less arc in the pellet flight or 22 knock down power , i,m still looking for my first permission but and any advice would be helpfull. thanks..
@charleyBIGspuds1 It really depends on what you want to use the gun for as most hunters use the .22 while Ft or HFT shooters use .177 for competition and hunting. The .22 has more knock down power but the .177 with heavier 10 grain pellets are a good tool as well for rabbits and head shots. But both will put game in the bag cleanly with a well placed shot.
@jerryk2198 It depends on where you are, as i see very few of them but most of the land i shot over is open fields, but i have heard they can be found in good numbers in good woodland.
@jerryk2198 That's because the American grey squirrels brought over infections that ther immune systems weren't prepared for, so they only place I know of with a high concentration is some place near notingham.
ok mate fair play, im in the process of getting a sony cam with night shot so we will see what i can get on cam for people to see like rabbits and rats
@treeratbuster Its probably becasue i only go out when it looks nice but i have a few hunts to come that will show how wet it is now. The myxi seems to have hit nearly all the places i hunt again this year. I used to lamp but the ground is so wet i gave up as the rabbits hear you wading through the mud long before you get in range.
Hi mate, i just got my dads old rifle out and its a, mark 3 webley and scott rifle but i dont know if it's a. 22 or a. 177 do you know if they are any good? And nice vids :)
@WeBBaav Sorry but i am not sure but Webley and Scott where a good make in there day and the gun should have ether .22cal or 177cal marked on the barrel somewhere.

@philmcd831 I am from Co Antrim but i am very busy myself with work these days. Glad that you liked the videos though and there should be more to come soon.
With that disease hitting those rabbits, I would have 2nd though about eating the ok one, what if they have it but it's not at the stage that you can see it.
Does the disease have any affects on humans? Just wondering , but still great videos , hope I can make some myself one of these days
@oakland002 Yes there is a good chance that even the heathly looking one could still have Mixe. The disease is not supposed to do humans any harm but i feed the rabbits to my cats just in case.
@oakland002 I take it you mean a single pump pcp air rifle like the Webley Paradigm these aren't a new idea but they have got a lot better over the years but they would be heavier than a normal pcp as they need a cocking lever so you can pump the air into them. Other wise they are more or less the same as a bolt action pcp except that you don't need to buy a divers bottle and charging gear you can pump it up where ever you are.
thanks for your reply its really helped me out because i really didnt no were to start..im going to look out for farmers to let me shoot on there land and for a gun..i will let you no how i get on..keep up the good work and thanks again..

brilliant vid do you only use your fac air rifle or do you have any vids of you hunting with a wee 12 fp air rifle as it helps the people who dont cant take rabbits out at sixty yards
@taidgh15 There is one of the rabbit hunting videos from 2011 were i use my BSA super 10 which is about 14ft/lb not much more really than 12ft/lb. Plus i use the BSA for the crows and wood pigeons as well.
Excellent shooting. And the narrating, presentation of your videos are, in my opinion the best airgun hunter/video presenter around. And very apparent that you love what your doing. I am always eager to see the new videos you make, mark my words, your name will be in the mouths of many generations of airgun hunters. Take care.
really gd vid.im from limavady and can hear from your accent your from not far away.was wondering if you could give me some advise about getting into shooting i was wondering firstly wot we have to do in this part of the world to get a licence..i was going to go for a .22 or .17hmr rim fire rifle what 1 of these would b best for vermin rabbits..foxes..crows ect..and lastly why do you use an air rifle is ther any advantage to a rim fire gun..would b very greatful if you could help me out cheers
@nicholl777 A .22lr with subonic's is very good for rabbits out to near 100 yards but if you are wanting to take a fox you would be better off with ether a .17hmr or .22mag the .17hmr is the safest and most accurate as the bullet breaks up on contact. You need to go to your nearest Firearms Dealer (look Yellow pages) pick out the gun you like put a depossit on it and they will help you fill out the paper work. Including farmers letters for shooting permission etc.
@taidgh15 I haven't been lamping for a long time, the problem is that the ground gets so wet here in the winter the rabbits can hear you slipping and sliding in the wet long before you ever get into air gun range.
I notice that you're quite badly plagued by myxomatosis where you are, i shoot often in England and to date i have never seen one, is it particularly bad in your area?
@Pelletputter It was last year as you could find dead rabbits lying here and there about the fields, but on the plus side it made the crows easier to bait and decoy down.
@mrwiggles2 Yeah its odd that but i was told that its a bit like the common cold as new strain's keep coming out making it had to build a resistance too.
Thanks for another great video HuntersVermin . Your videos always remind me of the days before i took up Rimfire / Shotgun shooting , when i used an Air rifle for all my hunting forays. Keep up the good work mate.

Excellent shooting. And the narrating, presentation of your videos are, in my opinion the best airgun hunter/video presenter around. And very apparent that you love what your doing. I am always eager to see the new videos you make, mark my words, your name will be in the mouths of many generations of airgun hunters. Take care.

really gd vid.im from limavady and can hear from your accent your from not far away.was wondering if you could give me some advise about getting into shooting i was wondering firstly wot we have to do in this part of the world to get a licence..i was going to go for a .22 or .17hmr rim fire rifle what 1 of these would b best for vermin rabbits..foxes..crows ect..and lastly why do you use an air rifle is ther any advantage to a rim fire gun..would b very greatful if you could help me out cheers
nicholl777 4 months ago
@nicholl777 A .22lr with subonic's is very good for rabbits out to near 100 yards but if you are wanting to take a fox you would be better off with ether a .17hmr or .22mag the .17hmr is the safest and most accurate as the bullet breaks up on contact. You need to go to your nearest Firearms Dealer (look Yellow pages) pick out the gun you like put a depossit on it and they will help you fill out the paper work. Including farmers letters for shooting permission etc.

What calibre and how many fps?
ThaFreakyBoy98 4 months ago

HuntersVermin 4 months ago
no i mean like do you do any lamping in the winter not for your vids
taidgh15 4 months ago
@taidgh15 I haven't been lamping for a long time, the problem is that the ground gets so wet here in the winter the rabbits can hear you slipping and sliding in the wet long before you ever get into air gun range.

Very good video and shows how to identify myxomatosis in its maturity for those who haven't come across it yet, i leave them for the foxes myself.

HuntersVermin 4 months ago
I notice that you're quite badly plagued by myxomatosis where you are, i shoot often in England and to date i have never seen one, is it particularly bad in your area?
Pelletputter 4 months ago
@Pelletputter It was last year as you could find dead rabbits lying here and there about the fields, but on the plus side it made the crows easier to bait and decoy down.

does maxmatosis (probably spelled it wrong) effect the eating quality of the rabit
Fishkid88 4 months ago
@Fishkid88 I don't really know as i have never ate one with it as far as i know nor do i want to ether, but it can't help the taste of the meat.
HuntersVermin 4 months ago
Great video and funny. That mxymytosis is prevalent in the UK and Ireland. I'm surprised rabbits haven't developed more resistance to it.
mrwiggles2 4 months ago
@mrwiggles2 Yeah its odd that but i was told that its a bit like the common cold as new strain's keep coming out making it had to build a resistance too.
