Great video my friend, wish I could have captured something of that quality, but my phone wasn't that advanced. I wasn't sitting too far from you either. Infact I was very near and what a great show. Didn't they film this? If so, where is it?
god this brings back too many memories and feelings....aaww man i feel old i was only twelve when i heard this for the first time....i suppose thats what a masterpiece does...evokes those memories...yeah it was that scene in risky business where i first heard this...how can anyone forget that?...awesome post....so many thanks to you my friend.
Thanks for posting this - I was there, standing just in front of the mixing desk on the ground floor. The sound balance in your recording in the balcony is completely different to how I heard it and much better. From where I was the percussion dominated the mix a lot of the time (including on this track).
The best live performance I've heard was at the Carnegie Hall, by the composer and the other 17 musicians needed to play it ;).
great track, its the soundtrack to the movie 'risky business' where tom cruise gives a master piece performance, if you havnt seen it do, its one of the greatest movies of all time in my opinion, it scored 100% on rotten tomatoes swhich is hard to do, so im not the only one to think highly of it, this track is just unbelievable and suits the movie great
EXACTLY!!! I love it. BTW> If you love the movie see the ORIGINAL ENDING as intended by writer/director Paul Brickman. He was forced to reshoot it the ending to what we see now is the theatrical version. Alternative ending is just slightly different but in my oppinion suits more to the movie's atmosphere and characters. It is included on the 25th Anniv. Edition on DVD or BluRay. Great tube contribution 5*...
Consider yourself lucky Europeans. Here in the US there isn't as much of an appreciation for electronic music. Hip Hop is the norm. While not bad music it's nowhere as innovative like this is. How I love electronice music. I've only recently discovered Tangerine Dreams and I must truly say that they where and still are ahead of their time.

Could have been a good show from TD, a rehabilitated studio act. Unfortunately over the top drums with all the subtlety of a flying brick spoiled things. Why can't Froese realise that he doesn't need models on stage and he doesn't need somebody banging the crap out of the drums all over the music all night. A stripped down live aproach with just synths and a little guitar here and there would serve him well. He's talented enough to pull it off without the other nonsense.
I have never seen Risky Business, But I'm happy I haven't because then I would not have my own emotions for this song I would have the movies.
