So I did some research and was considering the Zune 30GB (I consider the FM to be a big plus); but I've been reading some pretty horrible stuff about the new version 2 software. So my question is this: If I were to go out and buy the Zune right now, would it have the old software or the new software? (continued next post)...

at the time the iphone was gonna be released. it cost $600 and can only be used with at&t. yes now if i had to chose i would get the ipod Touch over the Zune, but somemore mememory in the Ipod Touch would be nice it only has 16GB

Yeah except that the zune screen isn't as good and whats the point of a screen anyways if there is no way you'll ever use it. I.e. Microsoft doesn't sell videos or shows online. These are all things you have to think about. I would also personally never buy a zune because the Apple itunes store has the largest selection of music worldwide. Zune has a fraction of that.

IT'S BY MICROSOFT- IT'S HACKABLE EASIER- IT'S ALREADY BEEN HACKED SO THAT YOU CAN SEND AND KEEP SONGS.

It also has a bigger screen, better quality and little things such as magnets in the earphones (other than the ones that are something to do with the sound actually coming out of the earphones) which means they dont get tangled.

No I'm not, and trust me I'm not Microsoft fan boy either, I tend to lean away from their operating systems and products in general. To be honest though how is it not superior? It has all of the same features without having to use iTunes which is now becoming the new Realplayer. From the eyes of a techie it is completely obvious that my comment is logical.

I have no clue why everyone is P.M.S.ing about the size of the Zune. I went to Bestbuy to see the Zune, and its not big or clunky at all. In fact it has about same the depth as the CreativeZen which is.7 of an inch and the Zune's is .6 of an inch, the iPOD 30g is .4 and the iPOD 80g is .6 of an inch.

I had so many problems with my Ipod freezing and the cursor not working that i ran over it after i got my Zune! and yes, they were very anti-zune, they should open up there eyes and realize Ipods suck!

I personally like the size, I'm not going to be running or jogging with it os the wieght doesn't concern me at all. As far as the size goes, if it fits in my pockets, it's ok by me. The memory size is the same... If I bought the Zune, I would be starting a completely new library so I wouldn't lose any iTunes. Unlike the shuffle, I wouldn't be afraid of breaking it at all.

loool, i was going to get a zune, because a few of my friends are getting one. i thought it would be cool because we could trade music, i never realized you would have to pay for the song when you're "trading" music. the only reason that there's a chance i might get one is the zune marketplace on the actual device. but i would have to restart my library all over again, i never buy cd's, usually off of itunes. i'll probably stick with the new ipod devices.
