I don't coach my kids to ride parallel on a leg ride. The only time I have them throw a power half is on the same side of the leg when the opponent's hips are down to expose his back and keep him from turning in.
ehhhh..ur talking about fighting an arm vs a leg...hes gonna be tight in with leg..not too sure if he could remove the leg so easily and counter the opponent
@saul143ful. When u hip down, reach for the bottom of the foot and elevate. Then turn into him. This is crucial, most guys wont let u gently push their leg off
The only problem I see with this is most "smart" leftovers will hook both legs before going for the power half and this would set u up for a guillotine from that scenario
this is really dangerous move for the freestyle. If i do it for freestyle, i would do it differently, but using same concept in order to not be fully on my back.
@123brown1 Obe Blanc competes at 55 kg/121 lbs. for the US Team. He recently won a bronze medal at The Cerro Pelado Tournament in Havana, Cuba on Feb. 19, 2011.
@KOLATCOM cool! i competed in 54 kg weight class this year, OAWA (Ontario amateur wrestling association)weight classes. high school. got third at my regionals.
the defensive wrestler's back has to break the plane of 90 degrees and be exposed to the mat, if he ends up on top of the offensive wrestler during the scramble, a good ref will not start counting nearfall...or shouldnt start counting nearfall. Not at least until the defensive wrestler's back is exposed directly to the mat.
Hi, I've heard one leg in is a Half-Stretcher ride, and both legs in which is popular in some other ground arts as a Stretcher Ride. Was wondering if you'd heard it called that as well? I've yet to check, but do you have any videos on basics for a navy ride and a ball & chain ride? Thanks!
It seems inadvisable to go to a hip because if you do he can put you to your back, I feel as though a simple mule kick can be very affective.

@region015 When was the last time you saw anyone throw legs in a freestyle match?
psychobomberninja 11 months ago
@psychobomberninja unfortunately loooong time ago. Since rules changed in 2004 freestyle became less technical more tactical

wouldnt the other guy get points for that?

@123brown1 Yeah I thought he'd get points too.I guess Coach is saying use this technique not to get into the even worse position of a near fall.
