yeah it's weird--but you aren't the only person who thinks that. lots of competition announcements and ISI or USFS publications remind people that a half loop is a full rotation
It's a whole rotation ^.^ It's a connecting jump, so in order to do the next jump, you would have to land backwards (going by the majority of jumps which take-off backwards)
I'm still not certain WHY it's called a half-loop xD but it's like a loop, but lands the opposite foot to which you'd normally land on, on an inside edge.
wow..its definally a half rev...but girl you can use that as your stag jump, or into your split jump..its so big!

You did it nice and high :) I think we call that jump "euler" and half loop is where you land forwards.

It is a Loop, no matter landing foot. The technical panel will write 1Lo.

ohhh, i see now, she landed almost doing a salchow take off, so thats why Sasha Cohen sometimes does tripple lutz, half loop, double salchow! Thanks!

very nice! I can land a half loop but it doesn't look anything like this (it's a loop attempt, really)...
SkateDelaware 5 years ago

that was a half? it seems like a loop (1 vuelta)
BonesTu 5 years ago
yes this is a half... it's 'cause you land the opposite foot of the starting post. =]
