  • Never the less u have the Asus M5A99X EVO motherboard that I build with in september when I thought FX would be good for gaming and editing and near the speed of intel. I love the board. Has a few layout issues but overall it feels durable and has a great BIOS. Overclocked my 955 to 3.8ghz no problem aith my hyper 212+ and get max load temps of about 51C or lower!

  • Why didn't you wait till ivy bridge releases? Intel said prices would drop a good amount on sandy bridge. I know those chips get decent editing and rendering benches but for gaming your 4ghz 955 will be similar in games. For the price a i5 2500K is better!

  • @Ryd3r22 ivy bridges? since when did Intel drop their prices? the only INTEL that I ever had was a pentium III. from there I always go for the Underdog

  • @VolumeLowHigh ivy bridge is the new sandy bridge but 15-20% faster. It releases in april. Intel already said you will see significant drops in prices of sandy bridge when ivy bridge releases(which are said to be similar prices to sandy bridge)

  • Oh and can you get back to us about how your overclock goes, think the 6 core is worth the extra few dollars over the 4?

  • Gonna get a 990FX, not sure what to get, might get this or one of gigabytes UD series

  • @clockwise3559 this is one is better. and a lot cheaper than the UD7..

  • @VolumeLowHigh I'm taking your word on it being better
