I don't really give a crap, you illiterate ass-wipe. They were inaccurate, under-armored, dangerous to reload during combat, completely outclassed by MBT's of the day, had a very high profile for a small armored vehicle, and could only carry 18 rounds. Sure, it looked damn cool then, and it still does today, but as a tank destroyer( it's intended purpose) it was superfluous considering the NVA employed very few tanks in its tactics. I still have pictures of her that used to be on the site Ontos Crewman II. before it was shut down. I took care of girl for almost 2 years. They would not let me bring her back with me.

Ontos Pros & Cons

Pros: Massive anti-tank capability and fire-support. Small and maneuverable. Long range, accurate firing.

Cons: Big backblast gives away position, must be reloaded from the outside, with thin armor.

You can find a fully restored Ontos at the Patton Museum.

Animeaaddication: So does a M-60 MG with red tracers. Never saw a squad, platoon, Company, Battalion or Regiment complain; say "No GO", it gives away our position. Ontos fly in '66 with old helicopters, again in '69, have pic. M1A1 do that lately? Big is not always better. 106 RR is in Africa on a TOY pickup + Taliban had them for 10 minutes in 2002. 106mm recoiless rifles were also used singly. We used one in a tower, on a tripod, in the south end of An Hoa Combat base. An excellent antipersonell weapon, it shot HE (hi explosive) and green beehive rounds (cannister rounds (thousands of darts) which went off at the point of impact). A wonderful weapon for use on the g d communists.
