You're right! The 90s in Seattle were great! And Almost Live was the sheeit. And on the radio we had Music with Mocowitz. (RIP)
You could run across the cast and crew filming almost anywhere you went. I left 'cause i couldn't take the constant gray and rain, and the traffic on 405!
Drank a lot of Raindoggies! And Beppo's was cool! Damn, I almost miss Seattle....NOT! I'm in Merlin, Oregon and it's much better here.
I love this one and the sequel so, so much...I don't know how he can put that much energy and volume into that whole thing and not pass out. No matter what skit he's in, Pat Cashman never fails to be completely and utterly freaking hilarious.
A local buissness at the time ran ads at the time like this one, they were always closing, had sales, etc. That is why the audience "gets" it early on!!!
OMG, I love Pat Cashman! It's always nice to hear him do commercials on TV and the radio. He has a wonderful radio voice. I didn't know he was in Hello Dolly at the 5th Ave Theatre. I wish I could have seen that! Anyway, this commerical from Almost Live is absolutely hysterical! LMAO! Sad, but it really fits the times with all these places going out of business recently.
I still have a cassette recording of Pat from his morning show on The Buzz 100.7FM. That seems like a long time ago. He and Lisa Foster really did make a good team.
It was all based off a local Seattle business that really did constantly run "going out of business" sales, with similar music and headlines! Made it 10X more funny at the time. A classic performance by Cashman.
Pat Cashman: Failure. Complete Failure. Not a Good win in the least. Failed. Bad... Not Good! FAILED! WE SWEAR IT! YOU SUCK! YOU'RE NOT WORTH IT! GET OFF YOUR ASS AND PRACTICE NOW! RIGHT NOW!!! GO TO TRAINING MODE YOU LAZY S.O.B!!!!!
Pat Cashman (as Brawl Announcer): You have All Characters, Arenas, Stickers and Music. No more stuff to unlock. Nothing. That's it! The Game's Over! Done! Bye-Bye! Later! You think there's more? YOU'RE WRONG! (Starts going Crazy) NO MORE CHARACTERS! NOTHING! NO TROPHIES, NO STAGES, NOTHING AT ALL!! THIS IS THE END OF SSB: BRAWL!! THIS IS THE END OF THE LINE!! NOTHING ELSE!!! NADA!!!! NOTHING!!! NOT EVEN A CHALLENGE!!!! IT'S DONE!!!! AND NOW YOU HAVE TO WAIT FOR SSB 4!!!!!
All 3 versions of this skit will be on my DVD Set. I have completed the first of what I think will be 4 or 5 DVD's of my personal favorite Almost Live! skits. These will contain all of the series of Billy Quan, Lame List, High Five'n White Guys, AL Training Films, Bill Nye, Speed Walker, Middle Management Suck-ups, Nature Walk with Chuck, DJ Randy Scott, Worst Girlfriend in the World, Cops and many others non series skits from my 250 shows. These DVD's will run about 4 hours & 15 minutes each.
Oh god this show is hilarious. I was actually just thinking about this exact skit the other day and laughing about it. I think it was because I was playing Smash Bros Brawl. Damn I miss Almost Live and laughing at how awesome Pat Cashman was back in the day. That show shaped my childhood. Anyways thanks for uploading =D
Yeah, Pat cashman was already a legend during Almost Live...John Keister was the brains but the true engine was Pat C.
Missed the old Seattle. To think that the "intern" of the show back then Joel is now the host of Talk Soup, and the only member from the orig cast to make it to Hollywood.
At the time (around 1993), there were actually a couple of rug dealers that had been advertising going out of business sales on Seattle TV for over six months. One guy had been running them so long he admitted he couldn't remember when his "going out of business sale" started. They finally closed shop once the state banned their misleading ads.
Yep, it's amazing that it's so well done, it's still funny to people now, out of context. At the time, a local dealer was running VERY similar ads.....it was HILARIOUS that Almost Live called them on it.
At YouTube, I'm saying I'll never watch this ever again, I really, really mean it. This is absolutly postitive it. I've lost my computer, can't find it, who cares. This ain't no snow job, because if I dawdle or dink, I'm SOL......One word about this vid: BRILLIANT!!!!!!
this is just like the local MOR store, they are always going out of buisness
