  • Awesome smokehouse, beats a man cave any day. I have the same smoker I have not smoked ribs but 8hrs is probably too long for ribes. I can cook an 8lb pork shoulder in that amount of time. Great setup.

  • Nice yard. Where is it.

  • my mouth is watering and I'm a vegetarian!

  • Nice little smoke house!

  • Thanks for the video. I bought one of the Masterbuilt smokers for $160 this summer. I have seen them on sale at Tractor Supply since then for ~100. Having smoked on all sorts of charcoal and wood smokers, I think this is my favorite. The KEY is -->> temperature control !! And this little smoker does a great job with that. Even if it craps out after a few years, I'd get another. The best Thanksgiving turkey I've ever done came off this smoker this year.

  • The new models since a year back have fixed the pronlems folks complained about, never hose them out it will kill the element. Leave your vent about 3/4 closed and it keeps the steam in way better. Your cook house rocks, I made one similar with hinged prop-out boards to guard against weather (florida rains!) and a center vent with exhaust fan. better in cold weather-

  • just curious before i decide to buy.....is it heavy? would it be difficult to move. I wanted to be able to move it into the garage when I dont use it. Just to try to get some more life out of it.

  • @etheromlet I can load into the back of a pickup truck myself, however, due to the way you have to pick it up, it is easier if two people do it. Weight wise is not a problem for me (and I'm not a body builder..lol) but would be easier to move if it had handles! I hope that helps!

  • @IvanKesja lol

  • Hey the ribs looked amazing !!. i am a BBQ KSBS judge .If you cooked to the point of them falling off the bone just taking them off. You over cooked them.. about 6 hours maybe 7 would have been good enough.. But I bet they tasted great !.. Not bashing on ya. Just providing you a little info on the time...I don't smoke on electric. just wood chunks and briquettes

  • @jayde1ash Actually the reason I was having a difficult time is because of the sauce sticking to the metal rack...lol But yes 6-7 hours is usually enough time! Thanks for commenting!!!!

  • That's great, as long as the Masterbuilt smoker works. Mine crapped out in about three years of occasional use and their customer service is worthless. It's back to my Brinkman charcoal smoker for me.

  • @lenskap So far so good!!!! So far my favorite smoker!!! I like the ease of it...lol I have gotten almost a yeah and half out of it so far, If I can get 2-3 years out of it...I'll buy another if it goes out!!

  • great vid! mouth is watering!

  • @dbbuf1970 lol..thanks...it's about time for some more!!!

  • I bought a SmokinTex smoker and got a really good deal on mine at Products That Save!

    Check them out!

  • Don't let those bones stick out of the meat. Spareribs are way overdone at that point. Meat falling off, overdone. Spareribs need a little "chew" to them, Tender, yet resistant to the bite.

  • oh yeah...the BEST turkey EVER....used apple wood chips...inject the turkey with cajun butter (one cup chicken broth...1 stick butter...1 tbsp cajun seasoning heated on stove to mix) and smoke for 4.5 hours or so depenind on size of turkey...use a thermometer for sure. Amazing flavor....applewood works great with every meat really...even beef and pork.

  • @bloozedaddy Yes, I have made some great Turkey on here! My key to smoking Turkey is letting it soak in the brine overnight. Makes for the most juicy Turkey ever! Everyone chooses my smoked Turkey over the baked Turkey every time now!

  • these are great smokers but DO NOT open up the smoker after a half hour and let the heat out...for cryin' out loud!!!! LOL Also...I never put sauce on the ribs while smoking unless it's at the very end. To be honest...the best way is to take the ribs out when they're just aobut done...put them on heavy aluminum foil, sauce them, cover tightly with foil lid and put on baking tray in a 300 over to finish for a half hour or so...yummy. No need to keep adding chips afrer 3 hrs...it's SMOKED.

  • I just bougthwhat I think is the same smoker and I am totally new at smoking. I have 2 questions if I may please....

1.) At 30 minutes you looked in and the ribs looked like they had a sauce on them. Was that natural juice with brown sugar?

2.) I see cooking times ALL OVER THE PLACE! Some vids say 4 or 5 hours others around 9. What's up with that????

    Regards!

  • @in2food Yes these had BBQ applied to them before putting in the smoker. I have done them with and without. I just like wet ribs! As far as the time goes....The lower the temp, the longer to smoke. Some people like to cook them on a higher temp and do them faster. I like them slow and low, makes them extremely tender.

  • the only thing that smoke shack is missing is a refrig with some cold beer and some jack d

  • Before you put the ribs in the smoker, spray the metal racks with with PAM no-stick spray. That will prevent the ribs from sticking to the rack.

  • @spyglass1005 Yeah I have been meaning to do that.....I just forget...lol..thanks!

  • I have the same smoker. Just got it! I want to smoke some baby back ribs and I saw a video of a man smoking the ribs with corn for about 4 hours at 225. one thing I was wondering is.... even though the smoker can hold a temperature, does the quantity of meat in the smoker have any affect on the time? will it smoke one rack the same amount of time as 4-6 racks? just curious. thanks man.

  • @Mestinon I have not actually tested that, however the more I have in my smoker the longer I usually leave it in there. I just base it on the same way I do if I am using an oven or microwave. The more you have the more it takes to cook it. I might be wrong, but that's the way I do it. Good Luck!

  • I had no idea there was such a thing as an electric smoker. I'm wanting to buy a smoker for the first time, but it seems to me that an electric one would make it idiot proof to get perfect ribs every time. Am I right? And great job on building your smoke house. Did you build it all on your own?

  • @AllUrUtubeRbelong2me The electric smoker gives you constant heat and you are able to control your temp without much fuss. But perfect ribs is not in the smoker, so I can't say idiot proof...lol My friend built my smoke shed, and I helped him a little.

  • Nice video

  • Those look great. Glad you posted. I maybe doing ribs tomorrow. I really like my masterbuilt even though I just got a new smoker. That smoking shack is really cool.

  • @14dollarz Thanks...I spent about $1500 on building that...but I love it. I have it loaded with Pork Steaks now, and will be smoking mac and cheese in a little bit!
