I am a Buddhist from Sri Lanka and it is better that Hindus control Bodhgaya. When Buddhists were controlling it, Muslims came and burnt it down. If Hindus were there they would have fought.

Thanks to the many Buddhists from all over the world Buddhism is becoming an issue for Indian people again. Hopefully not just motivated by money, as it is now. May the teachings of the Lord Buddha flow into the hearts and minds of indian people again, I pray. It would so become a real increadeble India again.

This is a place for Buddhist, I don't know how Shiva fits in it, wake up buddhist this is slap on our face that Hindu's taking over Buddha Gaya like Mahabodhi Society. I do not know how a Shiva Linga placed in there where Sidartha became Buddha.

Some believe the Buddha was an avatar of Vishnu, I think.

Regardless, statues and symbols aren't important. It's the Buddha that's important. It's the Dhamma that's important. It's the Sangha that's important. Statues cumble and symbols rust and decay. The Dharma will survive.

Bodhgaya temple is under Hindu control. Why only Buddhist sacred place is under Hindu control when Hindus, Christians and Muslims control their own holy site.

This is stain on Indian secularism.
