  • the guy in the car back seat was picking his nose

  • @copyright5617 dude of course there isnt an actual vacuum.. the air does suck you in, thats what they mean. now go draft a car.

  • i was doing 40 behind a lorry the other day, i nearly died when he stopped though, i locked up and so nearly hit it LOL, you have to concentrate so much doing this! tractors are the best for doing this

  • buses are the best to draft, you barely need to pedal.

  • I caught a ride behind a Greyhound Bus the other day (top 'o class, so to speak -- they create a great vacuum behind them). You do have to pay careful attention to the brake lights though.

  • niggers stealing my draft!

  • If its a car you have to be careful, because you need to get close to draft properly, and that's dangerous if they slow down. The best thing to do would be to find a big bus or truck and draft behind that with some distance :)

  • They're hauling it up that hill there!

  • effing roadies cheat even when they're being filmed. Imagine what they get up to with the needles back at the hotel room.

Road cycling. A sport devoid of ethics.

  • @jnavonoD You realize they are 99% likely coming back from having a flat tire, during which drafting is allowed.

  • @zwiebel2004 You do realise that the poster included this comment in the description: 'It's called drafting, and yes, they were fined by the UCI.'

Anyone who has ever done road racing even reasonably competitively will know and agree that cheating is considered acceptable by the vast majority of road cyclists.

  • @jnavonoD Didn't see the comment, but keep in mind that many UCI officials will see riders drafting on their own team car coming back from a flat and will either turn a blind eye or give a token fine rather than a time penalty or DQ. It is against the "letter" of the rules to be drafted by your own team car after a flat, but it is widely known and accepted that it is fair play after a mechanical. The officials do not DQ riders because it is almost universally accepted by them as well.

  • @zwiebel2004 Fair enough, but if you understand principle, you will have to concede that you are admitting that cheating is acceptable. 'Principle' means an inevitable conclusion that once the principle is violated, it means all other forms of it become acceptable, even if only in theory. Whether accepted or not, it is still cheating. Just like the 'bottle push', the 'medical attention' push, etc, that we see plainly on TV with wry commentary from Ligget and Sherwen.

  • @jnavonoD In addition, some road cyclists do consider cheating to be acceptable, but it is hardly the vast majority. I am a pro rider who races in the US and Europe and the vast majority of the guys I know are fed up with both doping and riders cheating in other ways.

  • @zwiebel2004 I'm more of a funrider/vet cyclist. Nearly all the people I have raced with will think nothing of drafting cars, tandems, riders from other groups, etc. (or littering, my other pet hate). The fact that blind eyes are turned by officials and riders alike merely serves to confirm my point of view. With an ethos like that running through the sport, it is a slippery slope as to what is and what is not acceptable.

  • i draft now and then when im out just riding on on my commuter and some people get seriously confused by it. the most common reaction is that I, on my single speed mountain bike, cause a car to pull over as if I am attempting to overtake them causing me to brake and slow down (because im paying attention) and then pass the vehicle and then seconds later to have the SUV/Mini-Van pass me again!

its nice when someone knows whats up and you can draft at 50 kph with little effort.

  • @alajet i see some cyclist on my ass, i hit the brakes

Its no different to a car who tail gates, its rude, back off

  • @PlebScrubber its hardly rude mate :L it just makes you faster and when you hit your brakes you will be the cunt who gives them a broken body!

  • I haven't read all the comments here, but the commissaires often ignore this kind of drafting if the riders have had an accident or a puncture etc. and are catching up with the action. Of course, if you do it all day they'll kick you out of the race or whack a fine on you

  • if they swerve they're dead :D

  • Fuckin cyclists are such cheats.

  • If you are going to cheat why not put your bike on the roof and ride in the back seat?!

    WTF?!

  • Fucking cheater ass Europeans.

  • @brapboys503 Yeah, I hate to break it to you but Colavita is U.S. domestic squad. It seems like you have a lot of pent up hostility. I would have that checked into, immediately.

  • @matkinson78 I'm a fucking bar fighter, dude, of course I'm fucking hostile. I'll cave your head in with a 40 bottle, boy.

  • @brapboys503

i didnt know they sold 40oz bottles at bar's...

  • @landonguyen They do in Oregon.

  • @brapboys503

hey fuck head, dont label all europeans ' cheats', Lance Armstrong is american and is the biggest cheat going, 7 tour victories after cancer, the grand jury know exactly how much performance enhancing drugs he has used over the years and so does Floyd Landis. THATS WHY ARMSTRONG RETIRED BECAUSE HE KNOWS HE HAS BEEN CAUGHT, FACT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @COULT66 You're a liar, just like most Europeans. Prove the fact that he used drugs son. Send me a media link of him admitting it.

  • @brapboys503 just because he didnt admit it, dosnt mean his innocent...

I use synthetic cannabis to dodge drug tests at my work, Im sure its even easier for athletes with some money behind them to cheat the system... and with more motive then just to get a bit stoned

  • @PlebScrubber And I use piss scrubber from my local glass shop so I don't go to jail. I smoke regular weed. What's the point? None of that proves that the guy used ANY drugs.

  • Comment removed

  • @kthorstrejka Nope, Europeans. Prove otherwise, you biased pigdog.

  • its safe as long as your awake, i wonder would other teams hand in the video though or does it depend if there was an advantage?

  • DRAFTING, HOW DOES IT WORK

  • @knarg basically you come in behind what ever vehicle your following (they do this in nascar and other racing sports) so the car in front is making all the wind hit travel over their car and if you are in close enough the wind maintains its course going over your car and whenever your ready you can turn out of the draft and launch past them if you want.

  • omg is that legal? That looks awesome!

  • how bout you stop the cheating shit and just ride

  • A pothole can sure stop this in a hurry.

  • illegal in a race

  • @gentleonmymind1966 negative...if you flat or crash...you're allowed a ride back onto the peleton...

  • @racerxwannabe ok so lets see this happen in le tour or the giro - its not allowed pure and simple

  • @utrapzab

It not allowed but it sometimes does happen in those big Grand Tours.

I saw Contador draft in a Grand Tour, but that was because he was caught in a crash.

    Still though, it's not allowed.

As long as the judges don't see it.

  • @gentleonmymind1966 negative...if you flat or crash...unspoken law allows you to hitch a ride back onto the bunch...

  • @racerxwannabe I did not know! thanks

  • @racerxwannabe That is not the case. A rider may not be behind a car for more than 5 seconds without a fine. Often times you will see riders coming back through the cars and getting behind each once for just a few seconds. Drafting a car after a crash is not allowed by the UCI and you will be fined, as this team was fined during the ATOC. The most common way to catch back up after a flat or crash is to have a team mate stop with you and help you catch back up.

  • Cycling = the sport with the most sophisticated ways of cheating

  • i call that cheating

  • All there doing is cutting back fuel emmisions on there bike.. oh wait....

  • its fully legal in a race but theres often a time cap as to how long your alloud to draft.... was training the other day drafted a truck at 85kph was supper fun, its a mean buzz at that speed pedlings purly optional if you get a gig enough truck as it just sucks you along

  • @Axmurdera3993 Did Not Finish

  • OH I GET IT!!!! it must be a yank version of a keirin race, the car swings into the slow lane up the road which signifies to the riders to go for hell for the line, very interesting.

  • lol

  • What's the problem? All cyclist do this kind of stuff.... It's more fairplay than letting someone trying to figure out to get back on their own after a flat tire or something etc.

  • thats crazy but cool to

  • that would be cheating and is not authorized (in europe)

  • @BrusselsXX3

I think its informally allowed where the leader or someone suffers a mechanical or crash. They can be paced back in to the Peleton. They have careful though, too much and it is cheating.

  • @BrusselsXX3 NO have you ever seen a cycling race in europe?

  • @hausken93 How about world's biggest cycling race" Le Tour de France" ?

  • drafting is so fun untill the car stops lol

  • @whyurfacesofunny Just ask Jan Ulrich!

  • @whyurfacesofunny yea i had it today i was drafting after a vw end he almost crashed thru another guy and he puts his handbrake on (me almost flying into it) and coming out of his car and he jells son of a bitch! haha xp

  • @whyurfacesofunny been there done that...

  • haha

  • Drafting! very smart

  • I've been paced back to the bunch by a motorbike marshall after I had a mechanical in the neutralized zone. It was horrible- was about to puke up my muesli by the time I got there, and all I could taste or smell was diesel. Didn't get fines though- the comms tend to allow a bit of leeway for punctures, mechanicals etc.

  • I love the Big Sur, California terrain.

  • lol

  • Is'nt this illegal in bikeracing now a days..?

  • read the description

  • Sorry, a bit to fast there. Im from Denmark, we have a lot of things going WRONG these days in the Sport.

  • He he, I have drafted of cars going a little over thirty mph.... FUN FUN FUN

  • ;p

    ugala booogala

  • they were practically kissing the vehicles rear window, if they were like 2 feet away from it then they would get fumes

  • They aren't electric.

  • @ChristopherPaul1646 Thats a really good idea man. They should be

  • Funny thing is at 24 sec you see a guy pull out from behind a car two cars ahead. He was doing the same thing, just not going as fast.

  • up a hill

  • is that Legal??

  • My thought exactly.

I do that on the streets once in a while. I slmoat got flattened by a bus doing that. But damn, I was booking. Hats off to those guy, none the less, if only for having the balls to do that. They looked like they were going at least 35mph.

    Peace.

  • i would say 45-50mph

  • I don't know about 45-50. If you look at the yellow center lines, they're not passing by quickly enough for 45 mph. I would say probably close to 40 though. They're definitely haulin ass

  • smloat?

  • I was intending to type "almost" and kind of bungled it.

    I'm a poor typist.

  • a wee bit of drafting for a few seconds to get back in the race if you fell of the back, the refs will look the other way often.

but drafting forever like that is illegal. they got fined for it.

  • No its not Legal

  • No, it isn't!!!

  • @chucholetsm8one Lots of guys was disqualified on this is year giro for drafting cars and/or holding on motorbikes and team cars

  • okay?!?!?!

  • i dont get it lol

  • its simple ...no air resictance = much faster speeds + much easier pedal...laws of physics...

  • mmmm in greece we learn that in physics so.... same thing :P

  • @numbgti ya but isnt that cheating in the large tours?

  • @numbgti Its not only no air resistance, you actually get a push because a car does not have optimum aerodynamics. That creates whirls behind the car, giving some push.

  • @Mortybf but there is some air resistance, it's just a way smaller.. the car doesn't produce vacuum behind, just a low-pressure zone... and yes, a lot of turbulence.

  • @numbgti The air resistance does not drop to zero (e.g., ``no air resistance"), though it decreases quite a lot. Also the air packet created by the car acts to `push' the riders from behind (meters behind) along because of the scooped air.

  • @numbgti thanks einstein.

  • hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

  • *tsk tsk*

  • Ahh, I've often wondered how riders who crash can make it back to the peloton, now I know thx.

  • Yeah this is now illegal in most sanctioned races!!! Good way to get disqualified!!! Better to work your way back and end a few mins back of the pelaton then miss the rest of the tour!!!

  • lol riding in a "slip stream"

  • WTF

  • this is cool thanks for posting

  • Put your brakes on ;P

  • jeje

  • Looks like TOC Monterey to San Luis Obispo

  • A mate of mine got towed by a police motorcyclist when he rode the Peace Race in the 60s. Got him back to the peloton.

  • Sweet !!

  • *lol* Great Video! Echt geil! :-D

  • what race is it and when?

  • Its not cheating if you arnt caught. Which is 99.9% of the time!!

  • cheating IS cheating BUT that was cool riding!

  • no, it's cheating

  • LOl cheaters. that was there team car to i think.

  • unbuiguity?

  • They had to have been caught (cheating) drafting. They passed neutral service car. They may have already been out of the CG for the day. Funny....and fun. I used to draft semi's when I was young and couldn't be killed

  • lol, I do this every day going to work.... let me tell you-- going 50-60 mph is scary when you start hitting road kill that the car in front of you straddled.

  • 50-60??

    Whatever!

  • downhill behind a semi-truck---for sure

  • they dont really care in Europe if they do it after they got puncture or crashed.

They might care if they were having trouble keeping up and they did it but no necesserily.

  • I think thats so cool they go so fast

  • The riders are drafting their team car (illegal - get ding'd several minutes if caught), hence are catching back up with the pack without much effort

  • We'll give you a bad rating for your ignorance

  • omg a bike race with real bikes this time
