Only joking, but this TV series is from my earliest memories. Anyone remember UFO? Camberwick Green? Land of the Giants? Mary, Mungo and Midge? Crown Court?
The One O' Clock News with the typewriter in the credits. In GREEN? Lol!
@Kelly14UK UFO is a favourinte of mine and I had forgotten Land of the Giants. I always watched Crown Court when off school. Thank you for so many TV memories.
Just finished a fantastic series of books on Arthur by B Cornwell. Thought I would check out u tube to see if this was on here...and it is. Thanks for putting it up.
@99fruitbat I think it is, I am stidying History at Uni too, and I give Kenneth Branagh in Henry V at least part of the credit for that, part of it anyway. Though mostly it was because I liked history before that.
Well I would definitely order it if it came in a plain brown wrapper but I think the embarrassment of being caught watching it at home would be crushing!! I do have a signed photo of Mr Tobias to ogle however!
This was just my favourite series as a young teenager! I even dropped out of school choir because it was on the night when this was on, it was a real big deal to see it every week! Thank you so much for putting this together, amazing to see after all those years...!
@isobelcatperson Thank you for taking the time to comment on this video, I understand why you left the choir:-) Both series are now available as a DVD set at Amazon and I would say are worth getting. I was suprised how much I remembered after so many years.
for my hen night my best mate and I who had loved this series went to see Oliver Tobias in 'Cava'. it was a slightly unmemorable musical but the clothes were very arthurian and he still ahs the voice and the sword skill. They honestly don't make intelligent series for kids like this now.
@skunkwit Thank you for your comment. I think that Arthur was Oliver Tobias' best role and watching the DVD after a 35 year wait was wonderful. What a great idea for a hen night. They honestly don't made intellegent series for kids or adults like this now:-)
I've never actually seen this show but it looks like a real gem. This was a show way before my time as I was born in 1987 but I've noticed how alot of the older series are of a far greater quality than those released today it seems. Also, was that Brian Blessed or did my eyes decieve me?
@Galley87 Thank you for your comment. This series was of exceptional quality. I agree they do not make series like this today. I would recommend the DVD. And yes - that was indeed a young Brian Blessed as the troublesome Mark of Cornwall who featured in many of the episodes:-)
i'm in love whit Arthur!! ohh my God! when i was very young i see him for the first time i wos 10 years now i'm 35.... many thanks!! have you got others good video?

I loved this! But unfortunately the only version we had access to in North America was the stitched-together movie version of "Arthur the young warlord." I saw on Oliver Tobias' website where he said that he hasn't seen Brian Blessed since they made this series almost 40 years ago. What a pity.

My brother and I used used to get hell from our mum for using her sheepskin rug (all the rage in the 1970s) to play at the Saxons from this!

I used to love this series...always dashed home from work and settled down with a Frys Turkish Delight to watch...
I still have one of the books based on the series...
