They didin't tell the whole story. I thought it was really shocking. That tiger saw them coming through the field so he quietly crouched down and hid himself in the grass. As soon as he disappeared into the grass which was a nice distance away from them... not even a second later the tiger was already on them jumping through the air. It all happened so fast. You couldn't even see the grass ruffling from the tiger moving through it toward them. That's some Ninja Style shit!

Tigers are extremely illusive and can secretively attack from anywhere. Interestingly, most Indian national parks including Kaziranga have huge fields of elephant grass. Tigresses usually prefer these elephant grasses for camouflaging and nursing their cubs. In any case, this was a very rare occasion for a tigress to leap out that high!

That was actually a tigress that attacked the elephant and the people sitting on it. The tigress was really close to her hidden cubs. Tigers are extremely illusive and can secretively attack from anywhere. Interestingly, most Indian national parks including Kaziranga have huge fields of elephant grass. Tigresses usually prefer these elephant grasses for camouflaging and nursing their cubs. In any case, this was a very rare occasion for a tigress to leap out that high!

Its funny how people blame Indians of stealing tiger's habitat. India has 5 wildcats (tiger, asiatic lion, leopard, snow leopard, clouded leopard), 4 bears (sloth bear, black bear, red panda, himalayan brown bear), rhinos, elephants, etc. What does Europe or even US have? You guys lost most of your wildlife and you want to give Indians an advise? The only reason India is called a mini-Africa is because Indians treat animals as Gods and so live with them even if its dangerous.

@giriisindahouse Well, just in my area, Iowa/Wisconsin/Illinois border in the Mississippi river valley we have coyotes (small wolflike canines) wolves, bobcats, mountain lions and black bears. So, i'm not sure where you get the idea that predatory species, have been wiped out in the U.S. There have been many recent sightings of bears in urban areas of New Jersey. People have been attacked inside the city of Denver, Colorado by mountain lions while biking.

@nabcunion I know Yellowstone and other parks in US. That's why I used the term 'even' when I referred to US. Having said that, with a land which is 4 times bigger than India shouldn't there be at least as many wildlife over there? Btw you forgot to mention Grizzlies, Polars, Bisons, Mooses. Even with all these US wildlife isn't as much as India's though its ten times better than Europe where jungles are hard to find.

@giriisindahouse actually i didn't forget, I was listing normal wildlife in only the area where i live, but yes, there are also polar bears, grizzly and kodiak bears in the U.S. along with panthers and many other species. I think the people of India and the U.S. have FAR more in common than differences- we protect our animal species as well. I live in the Mississippi river valley, in the northern midwest farm country (nowhere near national parks) and wildlife is abundant.
