  • I remember standing inches from this car (or the 01a/b) in 09 at Lime Rock and not knowing completely what I was standing next to. I FEEL SO STUPID!! Looking forward to ALMS at LRP 2012 as well as classic Formula One

  • Love the camera placement

  • 4:27 - Get OUT of my way!! LOL

  • I would love to see Nascar run at this track.

  • @thekswervedirt it would be horrible, nascars are horrible cars.. designed for ovals and dull tracks

  • @JuanJoseFaOrTi You have no clue what you are talking about, troll. You should try watching a stock car race at Montreal or Watkins Glen. Shits badass.

  • @thekswervedirt id love to drive a nascar's "Shoe box" in a beatiful track... YEAH!! troll style!

  • @JuanJoseFaOrTi I regret responding to your ignorance.

  • @thekswervedirt me no ignorant, me very intelligent, me is great! no?!

  • Can't wait to drive this in iRacing.

  • Thats awesome driving by Simon! I can just imagine how much fun he had there! I hope he gets to test the iRacing version alot, to make it as realistic as possible!!!!!

  • damn those cars are so stupid fast! crazy! Great driver though to go through the corkscrew so perfectly. Great driving! 5/5! Gran Turismo time!

  • yeah, gonna go play some gran turismo 5 now!

  • Are the engines in the HPD cars just a modified honda indycar V8 or is it a seperate motor?

  • @warrockplayer12, not certain about the P1 Acura since it's got a substantially bigger displacement than the P2 Acura engine. However, I think the P2 ALMS motor Acura runs (not in the car featured here) is a highly modified HIR motor. It runs on different fuel, and delivers slightly less hp, but is probably more robust (not that the Honda Indy motors aren't...they have a stellar record for reliability).

  • A masterful drive to work through the pack without getting into the back of any of the GT cars. Very impressive.

  • This is why David Brabham had a hand in picking his driver Team, Simon is very very good, Laguna Seca is a tough track, hard on the cars especially Prototypes. They will win their ClaSS AT lE mANS IN 2011 AND 2012 WILL WIN LMP-1, , the Team just wrapped up its 2nd ALMS Championship and drivers as well!!

  • nice onboardcam

  • Absolutely amazing driving by Simon! I like the headlight cam :)

Love the updates and video blogs, keep them coming please! its a huge inspiration!

  • I think some of you are missing the point. This LMP car probably had in issue in qualifying and had to weave through the field of GTC, GT, and LMPC in order to reach the other LMP cars. Its awesome to see the performance of the Highcroft machine relative to other very fast race cars.

  • awesome video, and driving too.I saw some guys saying that the other cars let him because he is in a different class, but that doesn't mean that this driving isn't hard and he is not a good driver, fighting with the traffic is in some cases and races almost as hard as fighting for first place I must say,but if you got the spirit and the skills this could be useful in tough races. So you all must know that the Race Driver Career is both Hard and Interesting experience for evry racer. That's my point.

  • siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiikkkkkkkk

  • they are letting him go he is in different class anyway

  • Nice driving!

  • Amazing!

  • Fair Play :)

  • French drivers, what else ? ©

Ok all the cars he overtakes on that footage are slower/lower categories, but 4 laps only to do it and being clever enough not to smash the car while doing it on that crazy Laguna Seca track, tu m'etonnes qu'on peut etre fier de lui :)

    Go Simon !!!

  • Nice driving and have respect, but hardly impressive when your racing totally different cars. Type in- How to pass at Bathurst - now that is impressive. cheers.

  • Why Acura last year and HPD this year. Same car and engine as before?

  • @bigtoad73 Yes, Acura withdrew factory support but the cars are still supported by Honda Performance Development (HPD) and Wirth Research.

  • @vikirad Isn't it more like that Acura withdrew financial support... the cars were really HPD already when they were called Acuras.

  • Why Acura last year and HPD this year. Same car and engine as before?

  • The camera makes the Porsche's rear wing look waay more massive than it already is!

  • how many did he overtake.. 27?

  • great incar stuff

  • Don't see that camera perspective every day. What a ride. Sent this to about 4000 people.

  • @masonis1 Our designer Nick WIrth does design F1 cars, but no, this isn't one. It is a Honda Performance Development ARX-01c American Le Mans Series prototype.

  • Great race! I was sitting near turn 4, and it was great to see Simon knife through the field like that. it was one of the finest drives I've ever seen.

    Congratulations to everyone at Highcroft!!

And best of luck at Le Mans!

  • Amazing, really shows the skills

  • awesome. what car is that dude driving?

  • @NothingEverything1 That is Simon aboard the Patron Highcroft Racing HPD ARX-01c prototype from the American Le Mans Series.

  • This really is like a video game, where you bash your way to the top in a few mere laps.

  • Uh. Awesome!

You couldn't do better in video game :)

  • Fantastic traffic management!

  • Well done Patron Highcroft, I hope that you guys win the ALMS this year, and good luck at the Circuit De La Sarthe in the LMS.

  • Great job at Laguna Seca guys! :)
