The 747-8 is a trillion times better than the A380. The only thing the A380 has against them is the size, which is actually a bad thing because airports have to make a lot of major modifications for the A380 to be able to land there.

Boeing 747@AirBus A380 Revolutionizes Great Flights. I had travel up and down on sky around the world in last 10 years with Boeing@Airbus. Many Thanks to Pilots, Technicalities, Flights Tenants, and other airplane travel services
Damn Boeing should have asked you first. Now go out and ask Airbus how many A380's they need to sell just to break even, I'll stick to flying my old Shed(SD360),
Yea sure Airbus need to sell something like 400-500 A380s to break even and this is definately achievable over the next 20 - 30 years.
Sure it's risky, but as a passenger I tell you now A380 kicks 747-400 butt in terms of comfort and will in the future in terms of afforabability.
A380 will make air travel much cheaper than it is currently because a full A380 makes more money than any other airliner that is currently in service. An a380 starts making profit at 65% full capacity.
Boeing just did it right when they made the -47. It's so good they don't need a new plane you ignorant dumbfuck. By the way the -47-8 is sexy as fuck.
Yes in 1969 Boeing developed the magnificant 747 which to this day is a great aircraft.
In 2005 Airbus developed the more advanced (that is more advanced than 747) and modernised A380-800.
It's hardly rocket science to understand that the 747 is based on a 1960s design and that the A380 development used hindsight to make their Super Jumbo that much better than the 747 series.
It has better capacity better fuel economy, better comfort standards even more so than the 747-8 on paper.
First of all you have no life. I think the A380 is a piece of shit, but I don't go to A380 videos talking shit. Why? Because I don't give a shit. You're here either because you admire the 747 or have no life, pick one. Don't forget, the airplane originated in the US dumbfuck. Oh btw zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
I'm just dissapointed that Boeing didn't come to the party and pull something "new" out of the hat! I remember the video about the 787 vs the original A350 design where Boeing gave the perception that Airbus were just remodelling an existing aircraft design the A330 and adding 787 engines. Now look at Boeing. They are doing exactly the same thing with the 747. Cutting off the old 747 engines and sellotaping on four 787 engines lol.
It's comments like this that let the rest of USA down.
The rest of the world actually perceive that all americans think with this attitude i.e "We are the best and if they made something better it must be bacause they copied us."
Except it's true you dolt. They created the a-350 which is a copy of the 787 just to eat up some of the market. They also copied the c-17 and created the A400M, again just to eat up more of the market. America has always been ahead of Europe in aerospace.
The A350 is a bigger aircraft than 787 and will not ony compete with the 787 but also the 777. Hardly a copy nimrod!
C-17 and A400M are nothing alike. The C-17 is a jet propelled aircraft and the A400M is a prop. You're a douche bag!
The fact is as passengers we are better off haveing two major airliner manufacturers. Without Airbus, why would Boeing innovate, there would be no reason. If there was no Airbus there would be no 787 simple.
You see everything through your rose tinted lense (or is that your stars and stripes) - Holy Mackrel - "God save America".
When I think of America I think of a bunch of phony polititions looting someone elses oil for the benefit of America, and the USA will do all of this while killing thousands of innocent civilians women and children i.e. Iraq.
WWII - Japan bombs Perl Harbour so America go and drop and couple Atomic Bombs on Mainland Japan. Goodbye innocent civilians
Your a fucking retard, the only difference between the c-17 and the A400M, are the turbo props. And the a-350 is a direct copy of the 787, they copied the carbon fiber idea and the wings. It's a direct unoriginal challenge. Boeing was innovating long before Airbus shit ever existed.
With each added comment you demonstrate that your a dumb fucking cunt. America hasn't touched Iraq's oil and that's a fact. Iraq's oil has been bought out by European and Asian oil companies. American companies lost the bidding war entirely. So you can thank us for that.
WTF, WWII...are you serious. Now your showing off that your nothing but a typical anti-american bigot, with a massive inferiority complex and no brain. SUCK MY AMERICAN COCK!
America hasn't touched Iraqs oil lol Is that what Bush told you???
Your an ignorant idiot! If you actually believe what you wrote then you better start praying to your god "God save America, god save america, god save america!!!"
C-17 vs A400M - Oh god please save us? Different market bud, more like C130 vs A400M. Get it right!
Someone innovates you perceive it as a threat.
Lets do it the American way - Kill the competition. Is that the way you like it?
Quote: "American companies won bids on just two of the 10 fields up for auction, surprising many observers."
Well they still won 2 contracts. The problem is America (which includes you by the sounds of your comments) expected to win most of them and thats what the article is about. America only won two contracts - Ohhhh boohoo!
You almost destroy Iraq and kill over 100,000 civilians why didn't we win the contracts?
We didn't kill 100,000 civilians you braindead cunt. Sectarian violence did that. And you must be so proud of your Eurotrash comrades insulting America by saying we invaded for oil, then sneaking in like vultures to take the contracts.
A350 is not a copy of 787. Yes it is a competing model but I think Airbus were very intelligent by placing the A350 between both the 787 and 777 markets with three derivitives that can accomodate between 270 - 310 passenges.
Boeing have used fly-by-wire technologies for 787 much the same as the 777. Technologies that Airbus first innovated and utilised within airliners. The use of composites is hardly new for Airbus but is a first for Boeings 787 which seems to be causing production issues.
"Braindead cunt" Yea nice use of the English dictionary - which is a European language by the way. FYI America did not invent the english language oh the English must have stolen and copied the language right?
What are you talking about anyway - America was founded by Europeans - largely those from the United Kingdom. Your roots are from Europe so stop trying to pretend that you are better and different.Anyways Im neither American or European - Im a New Zealander another english colony.
@whitireia But bigger is not always prettier. In the case of the A380, it's bigger is indeed a synonym of ugliness. The 747-8I is much better looking. And it's here to stay. Just won an important second order in Korean Air. Yay!
Well, beauty always in the eyes of the beholder. But the A380.......anyway, I think we have a pretty gd idea how the 747-8I looks as the F version is already rolled out. SLEEK!
you have to take in consideration of prices as a380 costs alot more than a 747. and also the fact that not every route has the amount of people traveling to use the a380.
I do love the 747 design. I toured Boeing's Everett plant and saw a couple of fuselages of the 748 and saw the 787. As a pilot, this is very exciting! cant wait for its release!
I would love to fly in or pilot one of these, Airbus A380-800 may have it beat still but I would prefer flying this way more than A380 because the 747 is just, cooler. A380 may be safer, more fuel efficient, and whatever else it is but alot more people like 747 than A380.
for heaens sake, who needs to be able to go to the gym whilst on a plane - they'll never get it past certification - unnecessary reason for passengers to be out of their seats - i.e. not wearing seatbelts!
Most pilots doesn't give a damn about the Boeing vs Airbus. Dad started on the 747 Classic then went to the A330/340 and now the 747-400. End of the day they're airliners that do the same thing and if you put your logbook to a airline and say "I don't want to fly a Boeing/Airbus" then they'll find the next guy who will.
i think the A380 is a great plane, but it looks fat compared to the 747. i rekon that the 747 will be around for a long while yet, and it will always be a great passenger plane.
old, but bloody reliable! and its amazing for it to last so long, and still to be coming out with a new look, in my opinion the 747 will be around for a lot longer, A380 requires airports to expand and lots of money!!! 747 is the way of the past, present and future for me
if the 747 is so wonderfull why isnt anyone ordering the pax model one airline has ordered it and they got at a huge discount to be the launch customers the 747 is amazing but its past its time i work on them everyday and there old i think the 747 has had a great run i think it will be more of a cargo plane now
yeah but the 737 is a plane that is in more demand and the a320 is its rival and the are very close to being the same capasity and range and efficeny where the boeings own 77 is taking orders away from the 747-8 the 777-300er holds a little less then the 747 but is a much better plane and the a380 is still more effecent and can hold more people and have room for private sweets and better products on board . all good thing must come to a end sometime the 747 is over it has been a grt plane
I think your right , i'm a fan of airbus but i think that planes are getting to big and slow. they where made for speed and i think thay should stay that way. Thats why the Concorde was the best plane ever made, Oh and if you think it was unsafe it crashed because of a metal strip left by another plane on the runway.!!!
please learn your facts most planes are caused by pilot error and if you have a look over the last 20 year boeing have had more crashes so please you love beoing but get your info right before making a comment
if you read your history books boeing have had more crashes then airbus and most of all the crashes have been pilot error meaning that is wasnt the plane it was the pilot so please they both make great planes and you are more likley to get hit by a bus and crash in a airbus or a boeing
i dont understand most of the guys here. both companies build nice airplanes, sometimes one company is a bit more advanced (like airbus with the A380) but that changes very fast.
Now its Boeings time to be more efficient and they are doing a good job.
both companies need each other, or better: we need the competiton for better planes
no point in having all that. in an internation flight that can take up to 20+ hrs, you would probably rather spend your vacation on that plane then your destination
I don't get why people always have to stand up for Boeing or Airbus... Ok there is competition between those two companies. But, personally, I can't wait to see the 747-800 and to get on an Airbus A380.
Sorry, but as a Boeing lover and believe me, I love boeing planes..... I have to admit the Airbus 300 is more comfortable to sit in than the 737, and the Airbus A380 is a five star hotel in the sky, compared to the 747 - which use to be king of the sky. I give the 747-800 a four star out of five. A380 kicks ass with luxury and comfort. Come on Bulbadox, I love American products, but you can't lie to yourself.
dude!!! the A300 is a WIDEBODY aircraft and the 737 is a NARROWBODY aircraft, of course the 300 will be more comfortable than the 737, the 747-8 will probably be more comfortable because with the 787 engine technology it will be quieter, and it will have lower pressure than the A380 by 200 feet, and it will have cabin moods so u will barely get jetlagged if any at all.
i think u mixed up the A300 with the A320, the A320 is the narrowbody with the 3 isle 3 seating, but the A300 has a cabin diameter of 5.28M (about 17.5 feet) and is usually used in a 2 4 2 seating configuration, while the 737's fuselage diameter is only 11 ft. 7 in., and is used in a 3 isle 3 seating configuration, look up Airbus A300 on wikipedia, on the first sentence it says that its a widebody aircraft.
i totally agree!!! All airbus does is to try and make "improved" versions of planes that were originally Boeing planes. e.g. the A380 is an "improved" version of the 747, the A320 is an "improved" version of the 737, the A330 is an "improved" version of the 767, and the A350 is an "improved" version of the 787, bottom line: AIRBUS ARE JUST COPYCATS!!!!!
finally some one agrees with me. im from europe so i should bee voting for airbus like the others but i truly belve that airbus copies and boeing is better but i wish boeing has the tail cam like airbus
at least this video claims to only promote the 747-8. That's good. SOME video makers put "A380 vs. 747-4" on the titlebar and put an info-mercial promoting the A380. What a sad way to try to influence opinions.
i totally agree!!! comparing the A380 vs. 747-400 is totally unfair because they are different generation aircraft. Of course technology will be better with a plane which first flew in 2006 compared to 1991, so comparing the A380 to the 747-8 is a much fairer comparison

This marketing video should be removed given that Skyloft and all upper deck suites & passenger lounges etc. have been cancelled by Boeing due to lack of interest from airlines (reported 17.04.07) Given only two airlines have ordered a total of 25 aircraft it looks like this grand old lady is no longer the aircraft of choice. A380 is superior in most respects.

747-8 is a cheap and boring replacement for the classic 747-400 series in my minds eye.
Boeing did not want to invest in an all new 747 replacement as it was seen as too risky a business venture.
I applaud Airbus once again for taking the risk and pushing the envelop in terms of innovation and design technologies.
I think Airbus have pushed aviation 20 years into the future.
Where as Boeing are still tinkering with a 1960s 747 design.

@whitireia But bigger is not always prettier. In the case of the A380, it's bigger is indeed a synonym of ugliness. The 747-8I is much better looking. And it's here to stay. Just won an important second order in Korean Air. Yay!
trent8002003 2 years ago 2
I have to disagree. A380 looks asthetically pleasing to my eye. Especially the "gull wing" design unlike any other wing I have seen.
The A380 interior has also set the bench mark and it will be interesting to see how the 747-8I materialises.
whitireia 2 years ago
Well, beauty always in the eyes of the beholder. But the A380.......anyway, I think we have a pretty gd idea how the 747-8I looks as the F version is already rolled out. SLEEK!
trent8002003 2 years ago
you have to take in consideration of prices as a380 costs alot more than a 747. and also the fact that not every route has the amount of people traveling to use the a380.

747 is old, 380 rulez!
scareface999 2 years ago
old, but bloody reliable! and its amazing for it to last so long, and still to be coming out with a new look, in my opinion the 747 will be around for a lot longer, A380 requires airports to expand and lots of money!!! 747 is the way of the past, present and future for me
pilotkaneyboii 2 years ago 3
if the 747 is so wonderfull why isnt anyone ordering the pax model one airline has ordered it and they got at a huge discount to be the launch customers the 747 is amazing but its past its time i work on them everyday and there old i think the 747 has had a great run i think it will be more of a cargo plane now
bradmc10 2 years ago
B737s got a similarly slow start - with the same launch customer - and look how sucessful it has become. 8000+ and counting... ;-)
Treetop64 2 years ago
yeah but the 737 is a plane that is in more demand and the a320 is its rival and the are very close to being the same capasity and range and efficeny where the boeings own 77 is taking orders away from the 747-8 the 777-300er holds a little less then the 747 but is a much better plane and the a380 is still more effecent and can hold more people and have room for private sweets and better products on board . all good thing must come to a end sometime the 747 is over it has been a grt plane
bradmc10 2 years ago
I think your right , i'm a fan of airbus but i think that planes are getting to big and slow. they where made for speed and i think thay should stay that way. Thats why the Concorde was the best plane ever made, Oh and if you think it was unsafe it crashed because of a metal strip left by another plane on the runway.!!!
nicodavid26 2 years ago
airbus crash all the time 2 times in a month lol
Andrew89898 2 years ago
please learn your facts most planes are caused by pilot error and if you have a look over the last 20 year boeing have had more crashes so please you love beoing but get your info right before making a comment
bradmc10 2 years ago
that aint all the tine. lol.
spiff3n 2 years ago
if you read your history books boeing have had more crashes then airbus and most of all the crashes have been pilot error meaning that is wasnt the plane it was the pilot so please they both make great planes and you are more likley to get hit by a bus and crash in a airbus or a boeing

Now no one get mad at me, This airplane does have some pretty cool features, like the beds and lounge, but I still think the
A380 has got more fans and Boeing should have thought of stuff like this before Airbus did.
DanDFriend 2 years ago
They did, over 30 years ago when they built the first 747
jrsx1 2 years ago 3
i dont understand most of the guys here. both companies build nice airplanes, sometimes one company is a bit more advanced (like airbus with the A380) but that changes very fast.
Now its Boeings time to be more efficient and they are doing a good job.
both companies need each other, or better: we need the competiton for better planes

I don't get why people always have to stand up for Boeing or Airbus... Ok there is competition between those two companies. But, personally, I can't wait to see the 747-800 and to get on an Airbus A380.
psgman41 3 years ago 4
Sorry, but as a Boeing lover and believe me, I love boeing planes..... I have to admit the Airbus 300 is more comfortable to sit in than the 737, and the Airbus A380 is a five star hotel in the sky, compared to the 747 - which use to be king of the sky. I give the 747-800 a four star out of five. A380 kicks ass with luxury and comfort. Come on Bulbadox, I love American products, but you can't lie to yourself.
Silver1Sprg 3 years ago 3
no duh the a380 is gonna be better it is WAY newer!!
tiger101757 2 years ago
dude!!! the A300 is a WIDEBODY aircraft and the 737 is a NARROWBODY aircraft, of course the 300 will be more comfortable than the 737, the 747-8 will probably be more comfortable because with the 787 engine technology it will be quieter, and it will have lower pressure than the A380 by 200 feet, and it will have cabin moods so u will barely get jetlagged if any at all.
Tcl90210112693 2 years ago
Airbus 300 is a "Widebody"? It has the same seating as a 737, [3 - isle -3]. Just wondering if one of us has our numbers mixed up.
Silver1Sprg 2 years ago
i think u mixed up the A300 with the A320, the A320 is the narrowbody with the 3 isle 3 seating, but the A300 has a cabin diameter of 5.28M (about 17.5 feet) and is usually used in a 2 4 2 seating configuration, while the 737's fuselage diameter is only 11 ft. 7 in., and is used in a 3 isle 3 seating configuration, look up Airbus A300 on wikipedia, on the first sentence it says that its a widebody aircraft.

boeing is so much better thaan airbus
TDJP123 3 years ago 2
i totally agree!!!
Tcl90210112693 3 years ago 5
finally some one agrees with me. im from europe so i should bee voting for airbus like the others but i truly belve that airbus copies and boeing is better but i wish boeing has the tail cam like airbus

at least this video claims to only promote the 747-8. That's good. SOME video makers put "A380 vs. 747-4" on the titlebar and put an info-mercial promoting the A380. What a sad way to try to influence opinions.
marteny1984 3 years ago 2
i totally agree!!! comparing the A380 vs. 747-400 is totally unfair because they are different generation aircraft. Of course technology will be better with a plane which first flew in 2006 compared to 1991, so comparing the A380 to the 747-8 is a much fairer comparison
