@oktal3700 yes correct and to make matters worse, planes are not allowed to use thrust reverser to brake during landing so they need even more runway than they would at any other airport. This is due to noise regulations around Docklands.
@happyguy82 I think youll find that planes are allowed to use reversers at london city, look at any video of the ba a318's goign in there, and besides the Bae Rj seies of jet featured in this video dont have reversers on them.
@alexorangesailor Thanks for pointing that out. I stand partially corrected. I've done some research and found that planes are only allowed to use thrust reversers when there's a clear and just reason to do so, otherwise the airline gets penalty points added to them.
@ Steve29112: They made a susscesfull second landing.
@ 1993GOS: I have no idea but the pilot made a quick decission to go around.

I was just wondering how the BAe 146/RJ's can do go arounds - shouldn't the tail speed brake make the plane stall when they try to go back up?

Wow. You know the approach into City is almost twice as steep as most airports.

Its Bae RJ 85. The pilot mentioned that the wind was too strong, so he aborted the landing.
