  • Dude is it much trouble to build a solar vibrobot that moves fast? I remember i saw a movie about a couple of cientists and they made a lot of beam insect like robots that moved faster, even walkers

  • @Traconiz If you power a motor which turns a wheel you can get something that moves pretty quick. Mine is only "moving" from the vibration from the pager motor. Search "solar roller" and you will find some pretty fast little solar cars. Solarbotics has a solar roller kit

  • @tzimmerm27 yeh but im aiming at a vibro like yours. Search solar cockroach. Thats kinda what im talking about. How do they achieve that?

  • @Traconiz It looks like those cockroaches are not using a heavy capacitor. Mine is probably underpowered for the weight. The cockroach looks very light and just powers the vibration motor directly from the solar cell. Less weight = more bounce. Plus they don't have a charge up time associated with the capacitor, so it will essentially keep moving in direct sunlight.

  • @tzimmerm27 thanks, obviously im a newbie. So what's the point of having the capacitor in the robot?

  • It works better than these:

  • that's lame. just a piece of vibrating jerking solar panel.

  • @jovianksc You're lame. You can't build anything.

  • @jovianksc your pathetic
