  • lol, piracy

  • "Oh shit! Was that the droid we were looking for?!?!"

  • I think JJ Abrams was smart for putting this in as a nice little nod to the fanboys

  • lol well ill be damned. Garmy Strong!

  • @Swinship lol =)

  • I guess R2 is a SAG member...

  • GARMY STRONG!!

  • Who would've known after all of these years of Star Wars copying Star Trek would end up that Star Trek would copy Star Trek.

  • Is this real? If so it bugs me. This kind of thing is great in a fan film, but why pollute the real Trek with Wars crap? They think it's cute? Trek deserves better than this.

  • @Straitjacket2007 see how your like the only guy complaining?

  • @Requiredghr18 Yeah all that means is I'm a die-hardest Trek fan. Never mind eh?

  • @Straitjacket2007 Kill-hardest would be accurate... the correct thing being people like you just won't die.

    Stfu&Gtfo and stop the B&M

  • @TonyEvans96 I'll comment as I please, you rude little freak! Keep practising, and one day you might just be able to string a sentence together, although I do fear charm and manners will always be far beyond your grasp.

  • @Straitjacket2007 Practicing*

Maybe one day you might just be able to spell your words correctly, though I do fear such complexities and intelligence are far beyond your grasp.

And no, you may not comment as you please. Contrary to your pathetic belief, you've got no rights here whatsoever. United States bill of rights has no effect in online communication... so I repeat STFU&GTFO and stop the B&M.

Rude little freak. Your first insult and you use something like that. What are you, 6?

  • @TonyEvans96 OMG you are so dumb

  • @TheTrekker80 Your use of OMG offends me. Atheists like me don't like any referencing of god whatsoever.

    And no, YOU'RE DUMB!

  • @TonyEvans96 Athiests aren't offended by God references at all because they don't believe in Him. Doofus.

  • @Straitjacket2007 you spelled atheist wrong. I guess when they started the evolution unit you blanked out the entire school day, including english.

Besides, it's called sarcasm. Learn it, love it, and GTFO.

  • @TonyEvans96 the use of God offends you? because you dont believe in Him? honestly, that is stupid. it shouldnt offend you at all. People believe in God, they deserve respect and the ability to convey their beliefs as well as people who do not believe in God deserve respect and the same ability. Furthermore, the use of a phrase like "oh my God" should not offend a sane person.

  • @TheYankeemanf1021 Don't feed the trolls!

  • there is also an easteregg scotty beamed the beagle of admiral jonatchan archer

  • R2 you so silly!! X)

  • R2. You and your silly antics

  • Star Trek is the follow up to the Star Wars mythology! Yeah!!!!!!!!!1

  • p.p

  • HEY! R2-D2 visited Vulcan! :D

  • @TheSecondEvolution And Rodenberry rolled over in his grave.

  • someone made it so

  • I heard them say there was something hidden there on the commentary but couldn't see it.. Thanks for showing.

  • what os is that? i dont know anybody who uses such a thing

  • @babyfoxgrant The OS is Mac OS

  • Fascinating !

  • good joke Abrams )

  • "its just my lucky R2"

  • subliminal messaging to star wars fans!

but ET, makes an appearance in star wars.

  • The evidence that JJ Abrams created star trek on star wars...:S

  • Another joke of this kind was visible in Star Trek : First Contact. During the battle of sector 001 ,one of the Federation ship fighting the Borg cube is actually a Millenium Falcon, as it was confirmed by the ILM VFX artist.

  • beep boop beep boop

  • That's what r2 did after star wars, he plays junk

  • That's why Spock looked confused at 0:18

  • R2D2 wants to visit the Enterprise!

  • This is a typical ILM Joke! its just like the way that the sound effects department (Skywalker sounds) inserts the famous Wilhelm scream into any film they possibly can! in Star trek first contact they inserted a millennium falcon into the battle scene early in the film! they had created the CGI falcon for the 1997 remastered trilogy and they used the asset for a joke! ILM have always done the SFX for Star wars & Star Trek! Star Trek the motion picture owes its existence to Star wars.

  • you know r2... just chillin... on the bottom of a spaceship

  • Impressive !?

  • that is not r2d2 r2d2 has a round head that droid has a cone like head

  • @hayot619 Cmon dude, it him.

  • @hayot619 Dude. Its because R2 is flying by. Its motion blur. Its definitely him.

  • Don't mess with the Trekkies. They'll blow up your droids.

  • ha easteregg... lol!

  • Maybe this is like in Blade Runner. (story behind that.) One of the modellmakers on the Blade Runner movies, had to do a test in order to join the team on that movie. He had to make a modell of the Millenium Falcon. That modell was later incoperated into a building seen in the beginning of the movie. Maybe here a CG artist was asked to do the same????

  • ahh i hate mac

  • Han Solo beats the crap out of Captain Kirk

  • @buenosanada well, yeah, Han would just shoot him and be done with it.

  • @buenosanada han solo is a bitch! XD

  • @mychemfan13 Nobody calls Han Solo a bitch!

  • LOL! the star trek people are like what kind of fucked up galaxy is this? then you the death star sending tie fighters at the enterprise!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • very far fetched..

  • @annamaura89 But still.. it's him!

  • i told you no one in star wars wants R2D2 around them!

  • Here you see, that Star Trekt wouldn't survive, if there were no Star Wars! :P

  • Humans landed on the star wars galaxy thru time travel and were the ancestors of the human species....thats why they are distinct from the rest of the species in star wars

  • guess R2 needed some extra cash and work part time with the federation.....

  • Awesome

  • Anakin's not gonna like this...

  • @CaptBlackwood Are you kidding? He's Anakin Skywalker. He'd live the piloting challenge AND he could probably take out Nero easier than Kirk.

  • @Renji9031

    NO WAY MAN.

  • @Kruezritter Way. Kirk doesn't have the force.

  • that`s not even from your franchise!

  • Lol i didn't believe, but i watched the movie on HD and its true!!!

  • this is just wrong on all levels. Flippen cheap.

  • R2 is chillin in space

  • If you look very closely, you can see the frozen body of Jar Jar Binks in the debris field at :20.

  • @sonoki82 looks like him but hard to tell

  • Hey, a Star Trek/ Star Wars crossover??? why not? Marvel and DC do it all the time.

  • lol thats funny. Im a big star wars fan...not sure why everyone is getting worked up about this. Its not trying to make a statment or anything. Its just good fun.

Though i would like to say a Star Destroyer could take on any one of the Enterprise in combat.

  • Awful. This is betrayal of Star Trek in every way. But I guess JJ Abrams is just a bitch to George Lucas.

  • @sirNemanjapro - Perhaps this isn't a good time to tell you that Miss Piggy and Darth Vader are in "The Motion Picture" either.

    Eek.

  • @Zenutheduck PIGS IN SPACE

  • im sure they did it for comical purposes anyway :)

  • leave atar wars alone you damn treckies!!!

  • @mino117american Lay off man! My friend is a Trekkie! Racist!

ps I love Star Wars by so much!

  • damn trekis dont have their own ideas

  • actually george lucas put it in there he paid the star trek makers

  • I know everybody will say this is all one big coincidence, but I don't think so. For ages creative thinkers have hidden messages in their art (think da Vinci). They either hide it because "the man" would bring them down if they knew, hoping other creative thinkers would pick up on it. Or they get off on hiding things in plain site, feeling superior with knowledge of things we know not of.

The next time you see random letters in a film, you might wanna look for a matching ticker symbol ;)

  • Oh yeah, JJ also left everybody a great stock tip, if you were clever enough to pick it up. Notice the letters "TEG" on the screen during the Kobayashi Maru, just as the subroutine is being executed. It's an energy company. I invite anyone to look at it's growth in the past year. At just about the same time this movie launched (May 09) that stock took off. It's doubled in the past year. He even kindly showed when to sell it (MAR), as the letters in "MARKEY" glitched out.

  • The scene where Spock is coming through the black hole and Nero is waiting, hmm, those red things on that view screen look really similar to Israel, don't they? Gaza is even outlined. During the Kobayashi Maru, as the one Klingon ship is destroyed the flame turns into the #4. These numbers occur so often it's hard to believe it to be coincidence. So what is JJ trying to tell us here? The release date of the ST2 (actually "12"), on 4-1-12?

Or is the message deeper than that? NWO?

  • There are far less obvious cases these numbers come up too, or things in pairs by those numbers (look for dots on screens, blips, ect), they come in 1's, 2's and 4's. It happens over, and over ect... throughout this film. I merely pointed out a few examples. Also Masonic symbols all over the place, damn near every frame, namely the compass and square. Most obvious being during Kirks hearing in the view from behind the panel. Masons are notorious for embedding messages like this.

  • Many E's in random places too, not sure of the significance if any. The scene where Kirk is in the bedroom with Uhura and green amazon slave girl, as he's leaving check out the weird curved spine on the green girls back (#2). The "1' is obvious, look for the 4 to the left. In the shuttle craft when Kirk meet McCoy, check out that shadow behind them (#2), first it's there, then not, then there again. Look in the upper left corner of the screen for the 4. The 1, again obvious.

  • The Falcon is in the big battle at the beginning of "First Contact" I'm told but I have yet to spot it. I think it's too tiny to discern,

  • Oh my god, it is really real :D so awesome :D

  • they did the same thing in 1 show with the Millennium Falcon in some battle with the cube thing

  • That's cool. I just pulled it up on Blu Ray, and it comes up clear as day in slow motion. That's too funny.

  • Ok How about the 2 submarines when they first warp into the debris field. Left edge of screen is #1 and a little below behind some debris is #2 which comes into full view. All before r2-d2!!!!

  • i saw it... hahaha...

  • its fake guys, all of it

  • actually its real

  • @chewsumyumm No it's real.

  • WTF the Star trek evil forces what ever there called destroyed the republican ship and R2D2 ok i want to see clones invade them

  • that galaxy isn't so far, far away after all....

  • 0:34 and 0:36

Look at their faces! Kinda like ZOMG R2-D2 sorta face.

  • LOL @ BondFreek!

Abrams is a huge fan of Star Wars (in fact he's more of Star Wars fan than Star Trek), and factor in the fact that ILM, a George Lucas Company, does the effects for the film, and voila, Abrams makes way for an R2D2 cameo!

  • Well the Star Trek movies (and some of the episodes) used Industrial Light and Magic for their SFX for ages... it was only a matter of time before someone thought... "Hey.. lets have some fun with the trekky/fanboy war!" Haha!

  • nnnno r2d2 how dare star trek do that STARWARS FOREVER

  • agree

  • Go, R2, Go!!

  • Repolarize the view screen!!

  • Funny! They shoulda hit him with some anti-matter!

  • LMAO, awesome. Star wars for the win!

  • Abrams to FX crew "Lets get R2 D2 in it he's from Star Trek, right?" FX crew "Um... Sure, why not. (thinking) 'He might be stupid but he pays well.'

  • R2 is my favorite! ^.^

  • @shyguygirlie22 My favorite is C-3PO!

  • After they wrapped shooting "Revenge of the Sith", R2D2 has had a rough time: being relegated to "bit" parts, and cameo roles (see definition of cameo a few posts earlier), then they renamed the Swine Flu, calling it H1N1, which sounds an awful lot like a rival droid. He's been caught cheating on his wife, Courtney Love, and now he faces charges of tax evasion by the IRS.

  • Its part of a turbine jet engine.

  • Acctually it was on the news that they put R2D2 in the movie towards the start.

  • Hahahaha sexy.

  • most illogical...

  • lol they whould put something like that in star wars!

Also that just may be the key to the Star wars v.s Star treck civil war. Damn you Micheal bay!

  • Easter egg!

  • I never thought to look there! Poor R2... I wonder how he go there...

  • @ArgetBlaka23, He must have floted in to a "black hole" and arived in the distant future trillions of light years away from his home. Or more likely Jar Jar Abrims does not now the diffrence between Star Wars and Star Trek.

  • amazing quality. i truly don't know what to say to this. do i punch jj for bringing star wars into it, or do i hug him because the two most amazing things together????? AHHHHH!!!!!!!! brain overload!

    DOES NOT COMPUTE!!!!!

  • ENHANCE!!!

    ENHANCE!!!

    ENHANCE!!!

  • Comment removed

  • how the hell does anyone notice that?

  • some people have too much time on their hands, just like the people over at fox news or the teabaggers.

  • lol thats great

  • love how R2 is just flying around the debris field, prolly wondering how the federation ever gets by with those ships they have.

  • how the fuck did you bloody find that it moves by so quickly

  • dude it was r2d2 drop it who cares

  • the entire time i'm watching this i'm thinkin..."what good quality!"

  • @willums94 it was said by J.J. Abrams that it was real, dumbass

that's him, if it isn't what is it? OH!!! I KNOW!!!!!!!!! ITS A TRASH CAN THAT VERY VERY VAGUELY LOOKS LIKE R2D2!!!!!!!!

  • well im sorry but it looks more like the end of a ship because it attached to it

  • you mean obviously?

  • @willums94 LOLLOLOLOL R U SERIOUS?

  • It's an easter egg fucktard.

  • i no know. y do u care so much anyway???

  • now*

  • its an easter egg made by Geourge Lucas because his animation company had made the effects for the movie. But i think its looks more like Obi Wan's droid, but i don't remember the name of it.

  • R4, short for R4-P17 was obi wans astromech droid

  • You know what really kills me is the look on the bridge crew's faces -as if they'd actually SEEN R2D2 and thought- OMG!!! What the Hell is that?

"Dammit man, I'm a doctor not Boba Fett !

  • I lol'd.

  • so funny rofl! nice HD

  • LOL!!!! R2D2 is in! He i really wonder why R2 is in it

  • i think this is said in the audio commentary of the dvd other wise you really have to much free time

  • Nice

  • It's a Cameo. The people who did special effects for Star Trek is owned by Lucasfilm.

  • No offense to anyone, but you have to much free time on your hands to locate R2D2. though at first it looks cool. it looks more like a escape pod than R2D2.

  • @ smurfer I doubt that people were "locating" it. Out of the millions of people who watch it, I'm sure some people just noticed it the first time.

  • KK true, but it still looks more like an escape pod than R2D2. The shape is the same but it looks totally different in color and such

  • yeah. agree with you there.

  • its def R2. i have seen it up close. its exactly the same in size shape and especially color. this video on youtube is just bad quality. check it out yourself. its def R2.

  • its r2d2, everyone has confirmed it, they even said an r2d2 cameo would be in it. that is it. geez.

  • well even if it is it. they should of made it look more authentic.

  • sorry for my stupidity but wat does cameo mean?

  • google it.

  • 47:41

  • do you need Blue ray to see it?

  • how do you get hd on mac?

  • R2D2: "OH SHIT"

  • NEAT!!

  • Thanks for posting this! It helps to find it on the DVD.

  • It's well known that the Millennium Falcon aided Starfleet at the battle of Sector 001 (Star Trek: First Contact)

  • poor

  • isnt r2d2 in close encounters of the 3rd kind? i know ET is in the phantom menace

  • thats not logical

  • THIS IS BLASTPHEMY!

  • omg

  • u idiots you do know that ILM did the fx for Star Trek right?

This was done on purpose as a joke between Trek and Wars.

Nothing more, and it's made to keep you dorks talking about something lol

  • Lol, that's awesome.

  • I can almost hear him doing his robotic scream/shriek thing as he floats by.

  • lol

  • Holly shit....

  • HOLY CRAP!!! LOL
