I've looked at various one shot stop statistics on a spreadsheet comparing these calibers and the 9mm was right there with 45 acp, like negligible to no difference. I can try and pull up the links again if someone is interested in it.

I was once hit by shrapnel from a copper jacket. Believe me it hurt like a sob. As I remember it, more like a burning sensation. I do not rec ever, ever truly getting shot with anything .22 or whatever.

I worked in a DA's office for years. I saw many, many shootings over the years. A lot of people are killed with .22's, but they are rarely fatal right away. Because of their low power, they tend to enter the body and then spin around clipping blood vessels, etc. They aren't good for self defense, however, because the person often takes a while to die. Almost any caliber 9mm and above will penetrate to the vital organs, but shot placement is critical.

I watched this.. and I cringed when you were talking about being shot in the head. I know its an empty wish.. but I seriously wish people would start looking for ways to be constructive instead of freaking killing each other.

Since the majority of people aren't going to gain any pride and grow up anytime soon, better just be prepared the best I can.

@yaahme Naha, BBs dont hurt, they leave a small mark thats all, and only if you have a light t shirt on you.
