  • When I was a little shit I used to listen to Exploited, Venom and such. Then during a macabre hangover I put this LP on the turntable, in the year of -87 and I was totally lost. And I still am.

  • 1986? Either they have a time machine or they were prophets in unsuspected times. Excellent thrash metal.

  • I'm better for it.

  • Thumbs up if your thumb is jammed up your asshole.

  • howabout

thumbs up if you know voivod without the assistance of Dave Grohl or Jason Newsted

  • THUMBS UP IF YOU KNOW VOIVOD THRU ****VOIVOD***!!!!!

  • Absolutely masterful. This is one of the most brutal albums ever written.

  • can some one tell me why everybody is talking about dave grohl, did he say something about voivid in and interview or something?

  • @aussieosbourne Probot

  • Dave Grohl was not only the drummer for Nirvana, he plays drums for Them Crooked Vultures, has played with Queens of the Stone Age, played pretty much everything on Probot and is a huge supporter/fan of Voivod.

  • Grohl was the drummer boy of an awesome band named Nirvana, and he is now the leader of a noname band.

  • You can really hear the Venom influence

  • this is great haha

  • this is how kick drums should sound

  • Canadian Metal!!!! \m/

  • Choose your awful sword.

  • Sounds a bit like "Shake Your blood" Probot

  • Thumbs up if you don't know who Dave Grohl is

  • RRRöööaaarrr is No.1 in my alltime faves.

Metal has become faster, more technical and deeper.

But no other album/band ever reached the brutality of this one.

The cover represents the music in 100%.

Listening to songs like thrashing rage or Korgüll still makes me feel a cold shiver ruinning down my back.

RRRöööaaarrr - the wildest piece of metal ever!!!

  • @ptalch I completely agree with that. I feel like all thrash bands that talked about war or nuclear death were ahead of their time cause a lot of the stuff they talk about in their songs could become a reality. But this album by Voivod in particular is one of my favorite album that represent true thrash the other being Leave Scars by Dark Angel. Anyway this whole album makes me think of some mixture of Mad Max, Wizards, and Clockwork Orange (actually their first 3 seem to all have that theme)

  • @metalahhhhhhhhhhhh Oh yeah. Dark Fucking Angel : Leave Fucking Scars !!! Great (Life-)Band, great Album. Love it !! Other pearls: Destruction : Release from agony , Kreator:Terrible certainty

  • Soundtrack to the end of days?!?!?!

  • thumbs up if you're here because of dave grohl

  • @Fermenton Dave Grohl can fuck off.

  • @Fermenton Who the fuck is dave grohl? im just here for the good music

  • @Fermenton then get the fuck out

  • @donibard fuck off, asshole. everyone can enjoy good music

  • @Fermenton then listen and don't mention that asshole

  • @donibard hate to see a mainstream name on your hipster band video, huh?

  • @Fermenton ,who the fuck is that Grohl....

is it the guy who play some lame ass bass on 2-3 album with a suicidal pussy that couldnt play guitar properly?

  • @ddboris oh, u mad

  • @Fermenton ,thank you

  • @Fermenton What are relations of Grohl to this band??

  • Yeah I like all of there old stuff. I wanna check out there more recent stuff. Does any of it sound close to this or at least progressive thrash?

  • never herd of them fuking sick! tho

  • i heard Voivod for the first time in 1984.. Damn this was amazing.. Still a big fan of them.. there actually is no band comparable anywhere in the world.. Musically they went from extreme metal to soft pop to extreme metal to progressive psychedelic rock, whatever and never really lost their signature... Awesome. .Have a look atthe interview with Dave Grohl about Voivod... He's a great fan of them.

  • This album is friggin' great; this is my favorite album from this Canadian Space thrash band. One of a kind musical group. This album originally came out in 1986, on Combat(relativity rec.). That was one great metal label:1980-1990. Earache rec. bought most of the label while it was disintegrating in its last days. This music doesn't even exist anymore! The metal of today is a friggin' disgrace; more like fag rock.

  • @gen88zd4a amen my brother haha

your right it does kick ass!

  • wow, drums !!!

  • Fuckin awesome!!

  • c un de leur rare album qui me convaint pas...

  • i love this sound!!

  • most thrashy of all the voivod albums

  • how can you not of heard voivod? lol??? poineers they were way ahead of their time. this album is awesome check out all their stuff if you can!! jason newsted played on some later albums which aren't so good.

  • @nigletgook Actually alot of people who call themselves metalheads and thrashers havent heard voivod :l

Im still looking for a patch of voivod to patch onto my jacket

  • @0BLACKSABBATH They aren't real metalheads if they don't know voivod :P

  • yeah me neither but must admit they are good [=
